2D Dolls

I have been looking for a body for around 200 usd myself. There is non.

If the body itself is less than 200, then shipping will be no less than 100 usd. Unless, you find an old, used Volks Sd13 body from Mandarake or Dollyteria. Pink and banana is a bad match, though.

At one point I wanted to buy DFA genderless body and modify it into female... mmm I still find this idea to be good. I heard a rumor, what they are planing to release another 1/3 female doll/body in the future. This body might be cheap.

Heydoll has nice more or less cheap bodies. If ordering from taobao, during their sale, through cloversinging, 58 body is about 250, 62 body is around 300.

 

I was hoping too that DFA could release a SD13 body and not only that huge 68cm one... I really hope they do it! I already own a DFA doll and they're nice. Dunno about the resin match, but it shouldn't be too far off probably.
I like the 2D 64cm body, but it's really too expensive for me atm, so I need a substitute. I'm in no rush to get it, so I can wait and see

 

@Rurimas I liked the resinsoul when I had it, it’s not terrible, but it’s been a few years since I gave it to my cousin for her first doll, it’s around 160$ before shipping

when I bought my 72cm body from them, shipping wasn’t awful, only 50$ to the US for me

For 2D sale, I didn’t look at a specific body, just the general female ones and if I mathed right (which I probably didn’t tbh) it’d be a bit over 300$ but CS would have an accurate total when they start their sale next month and they do free shipping for most countries

SD13 of unknown age + 2D normal yellow is actually a really decent match? It's also good scale for their heads that are meant to be on larger bodies. I don't intend to keep him on this body so I haven't done it, but if he was going to be on it permanently I'd slim the neck down a little. That said, they're not great posers, and shipping would be at least $100. (I bought mine in person and was able to evaluate the resin tone too, as opposed to just guessing how yellow it might be from photos)

 

Now the 64cm body is at about 300usd... I admit it is tempting, but I don't know if I wanna spend that much AGAIN when I told myself no more dolls until I receive all I ordered

 

Ok so, I decided I will wait a little and see if I can squeeze the money for that 64cm female body, since the price is, I guess, decent now that’s discounted. And I kinda like the aesthetic.
I guess that there are no owner pics of that body for now? Are there? I would be really interested to see some

 

Very excited to join this conversation. My 2D Almond just arrived today! I wasn't sure at first when I took him out of the box if I'd made the right decision but after trying on a bunch of wigs I fell in love! He's 68cm (actually more like 66cm) and his joints are SO stiff. In the best possible way - seems to be a dream for posing! So excited to take pictures this weekend!

 

I cant wait to see pictures of him! My 2d Doll Almond should be paid off next month and then he'll be coming home soon. I'm so excited!!

I just received my Ferris head today! I love her, she's so pretty!
The only thing is... Her head is actually super small. I kinda find strange she's sold with a 64cm body (I tried her on my male 62cm body and she looks super small proportion wise). I recently ordered a 58cm body for her, I'm glad I didn't go for a bigger body cause I don't think she would look that good on it!
I will post pictures tomorrow, when I have decent natural light and I can take better pics.

 

Yeah, unfortunately 2D sells their dolls on bodies that are way too big for them and I have no idea why. The second I saw an unclothed, unwigged photo of them I realized I'd have to find a way to buy just the head I have my Cream on an SD13 body right now and I think anything more than maybe 2cm taller would be too much.
What body did you end up purchasing for her? Was it just a smaller 2D body?

 

It's so interesting to hear you say that since Almond (in my opinion) has a head that looks a tad big for his body. Maybe it's more the girls?

 

I actually took a gamble with a 58cm body, i was torn between that and 62cm... But seeing the head i'm glad I didn't go for 62. She looks super weird on my 62cm boy body (height wise too) and the male body has 13.4cm shoulders, while her original 64cm body has 13cm shoulders
I got an Heydoll body in the end! I pondered a lot but I decided to try that company, I heard nice things and the mobility looks amazing (I love my dolls to have a nice mobility). Plus the wait time should be short, about 2/3 months from what they told me!

Maybe the boys look less weird cause they're bigger overall? But I heard that the boys too look a little pin headed on the big bodies. I don't know for sure thought since I don't own any. Later I'm gonna take some decent pics of the head compared to my 62cm DFA male doll, so you can see how small she is in comparison

 

Cream's one of the heads designated as a boy (IMO they're all really genderfluid) and he's a tiny little pinhead that they sold on, IIRC, the 68cm body??? He needs a 60-62cm body with 14cm shoulders to look good. Anything bigger is ridiculous.

I haven't heard of that company before so I'm gonna look them up! I'm still a little undecided on a permanent body for my Cream, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be putting him on the Spiritdoll Elegance body.

And to not spam too much, HERE an album with nicer pictures and Ferris on the 62cm body. Maybe from the pics you don't notice it a lot, but she looks super pinheaded. Her original 2D 64cm body has shoulders that are large just 0.4cm less than this body.

 

I actually forgot to post here that I now have my full hybrid, and it worked. Heydoll normal pink is a decent match to 2ddoll pink, proportions wise the body with my Ferris 64cm head looks perfectly fine. Mobility on the neck is not bad, so yeah I'm pretty happy of how the hybrid turned out!
A very weird thing is I tried some msd wigs on my Ferris head and... They actually fit her (they're just a tad short on the back of the head). I guess this says much on how small the head is

I am yet to post box opening photos, but here is a quick comparison of pink resins I have got.


Normal pink is truly very light. White and pink. In some lights it looks yellowish

 

Anyone with the 68cm body, are you happy with how it poses? I don't normally go for 2-joint torsos, but these bodies are so spot-on with what I want aesthetically I'm sorely tempted to take the plunge...

 

I do own 68 ver2 body. I am pleased with how it poses. My most favorite part is swivel joints in arms. I will buy only bodies with such joint in the future. Torso joint works wonderful too. Swivel joints in legs not that great, although they do help to arch dolls back more.

I have this body too and like the 2 piece torso. I agree the arms are also quite nice. Fresh out of the box the body is very tight and nearly squeaks when you turn the pieces. They hold the poses they can do very nicely and firmly. The only downside I've found with 2 piece torsos is sometimes they change pose on you when you want them to stay still and need to be muscled back into the placement you want. There is the small line, and when you do pose the torso other-than-straight it can look strange nude, but tends to look really nice under clothing.

 

After my previous hybrid fiasco, I've been thinking. Will a 63 cm 2D Doll head fit on a Loongsoul 62cm body? I've got my eyes at on Lupin atm

I fell in love with the new 64cm girl, Nymph, and I am VERY tempted. Does anyone know how many months does the production take? My only 2ddoll head was instock so I actually have no idea how much it takes with a preorder

 

I ordered my Almond 9/16/20 through New Clover Singing and he arrived to me (in the US) 2/6/2021. But I did get a faceup on him so that took longer than if he were blank. I had estimated ~3 months before the faceup.

 

Hi guys!

I search for a body for one of my boys and the 63cm body from 2D doll caught my eye. The skin color seems to be okay but I have huge doubts regarding its mobility. The promo photos do not show anything, there are only photos of this body in "standing" poses and this is concerning as companies always try to show how mobile the body they are offering is.

Is there anybody who own this body and can take a couple of photos of how this body can fold up legs and arms? I tried googling it but no luck

Any help will be appreciated!

Judging by pictures of 62 body. It should have the same leg and torso movement. But the shorter body does not have a swivel joint in hands.

In general it is not the worst 62 body in the market.

 

@Nerwign , @Swampruler thank you so much for sharing the photos, I've looked through all of them thoroughly! Looks like I was mistaken and this body has decent mobility even though it looks rather wooden at first sight. I think I'll choose it :3

Do the 68cm heads work on their 63cm bodys?
Proportion wise an technically (neck size)?

• For hybrid You need to considerneck circumference
• shoulder width
• head circumference
• and sometimes face lengh
• oh and how neck and socket in the head is sculped.

68 body has 10 cm neck, and head circumference of 22cm, shoulders are 16,5cm.

62 body has 9 cm neck, head circumference of 20,5cm, shoulders are 13cm.

While the smaller neck might not be a problem. The fact what original shoulders and head are big might be.

In short Almond's head most likely will be too big. Like a pot on a stick.

68cm is not that big and ver2 body has a better arm engineering.

 

I thought, when I ordered Almond through new singing cover, that it asked me if I wanted him to come on their 68cm or 63cm body. But now I cannot remember for sure and their site is currently down

 

I'm pretty sure someone in the thread here posted an Almond or ar another 68cm head fitting well a 62ish cm body. So I think it could work, but check the previous posts!
For example, I have a 64cm girl head (Ferris) and she fits perfectly on a 58cm body... 2D doll does small heads on huge bodies, so most heads can fit well smaller bodies.

 

I have my Cream on a 60cm SD13 body right now: Login • Instagram. I'm picking up a 62cm Spiritdoll body from the post office to be a permanent home for for him today and will update later! IMO 2D's 68 bodies are far too big for any of their heads (they are all quite small!), so as long as you pay attention to the scaling of the shoulders to the head, a shorter body is fine within reason. I was unwilling to put it on a body that had shoulders smaller than 14cm. 14.5cm is probably the perfect fit.
Definitely try to find photos of them without clothes and preferably without a wig, all of the heads modeled on 68cm bodies looked like little pinheads I found that the English-speaking dealers didn't have much in the way of photos at all, but there were blank pics and nude pics on 2D's Chinese website + most of their dealers on Taobao had better photos too.

Edit: @Nerwign You can totally order the 68cm heads on the 63cm bodies, I've seen it through several dealers.

Thank you for pointing out the shoulders, together with Nerwigns post on that issue it seems the 63cm body will look off.
I would love to see Cream on his new body when it arrives

I wanted to use the - 40% discount at newcloversinging to get him, but it seems I would need to hybrid in on another companys body *sigh*

I have zero knowledge about suitable hybrid bodys and skin colors

 

Here's his new body! Unfortunately the color match is pretty far off in person (it looks alright in some photos after I edit them). I think Spiritdoll's resin formula has changed since they took their comparison photo. I was operating off of the color matching photo on their website (which is down? and Clover Singing is down too so I can't check to see if they normally carry Spiritdoll) which showed their resin to be lighter and a little less pigmented than Volks'. That seemed perfect because my Cream had been on a Volks SD13 body and it was a near perfect match, but his head was a little lighter in color and less pigmented. Instead, the Spiritdoll body is darker and much more pigmented than both 2D and Volks' resins, and it has pink undertones instead of yellow. That said, it is an incredibly nice body and I'll shut up and deal with it if I have to because of how well engineered it is. But first I'm going to contact some dealers or maybe the Taobao shopping service that I normally use to ask if they can help me contact Spiritdoll and see if they do color matching. I am 90% sure that I saw a note on Spiritdoll's website that said they could make custom color dolls, but since I think they let their domain lapse, I can't check it anymore

TL;DR I'm going to be contacting dealer(s) to see if they can facilitate a color match for me.

He's on a Spiritdoll Elegance body right now. Size and scale is perfect, he stands about 62cm tall. I can strip him later for more pics if you'd like. They'd be a great match for the Volks SDGr boy body, though you might need to sand the neck down a little at the top. The color should be pretty close if it's a newer SDGr.

 

Clover singing does sell Spiritdoll.

 

Thanks! I checked Spiritdoll's website on the wayback machine, and they do offer custom colors. Since both Spiritdoll's English website and Clover Singing are both more expensive than ordering direct from Spiritdoll on Taobao, and I'd rather Spiritdoll get the additional money than a dealer, I emailed them to ask if they'll still sell a body to me directly and if they still offer resin matching. Fingers crossed! If I don't get a response after a while, I think I'll try my normal shopping service and then Clover Singing if necessary. (Spiritdoll's website did start loading for me a little while ago, but it errors out whenever I try to register. Hopefully they get that sorted out since their bodies are really nice!)

Could anyone tell me the what the difference is between the 68cm boy bodies ver 2 and ver 3 ?

Also does anyone know if their Normal yellow resin will match Migidoll merengue beige (NS)?

 

The only difference I can visibly see is the V2 has the rotating upper arms, while the V3 does not.

I looked up the Spiritdoll body, it's not exactly what I have in mind for mine.

So, if I understand correctly, you had him on an older Volks body, which did not fit the skintone perfectly, but a newer Volks normal skin should work almost perfect skin color wise?
Did Volk change their normal skin color, or do you mean because of yellowing of the old Volks body?

Can one even buy just the body of SDgr? I haven't purchased any VOLKS resin dolls so far

Also.. Would that mean 2D doll is a very good match for Volks normal?
I do have a flying DollClans head, and I was informed it's a perfect match for Volks normal. I am now thinking of getting 2D doll Almond +body and use the body for that doll head

 

@Pyoko Volks does not sell their bodies separately. You'd have to buy one second hand. But, they're not that hard to come by.

@Astro Your Cream looks adorable. I'd love to see a stripped down photo of the head and body match.

 

Thanks everyone! I'm going to take him off of the Spiritdoll body and put it away for now, and put him back on his SD13 body. No sense in keeping him out on a body I don't think I'll be keeping I emailed Spiritdoll last night, so hopefully they get back to me soon and I can start the process of sending his headcap to them so they can cast a body for me that matches him!

I have a SDGr boy body whose head is off for a faceup, so I can do a whole merry-go-round of Cream's head on bodies (Spiritdoll Elegance, SD13B, SDGrB) for everyone later today!

To respond quickly though:
@Pyoko I had him on a Volks SD13 body from an unknown year (I bought it 2nd hand). SD13 bodies are discontinued, so I know it's older. The resin condition is very good though, but as with all dolls it has yellowed a bit over time. It is a little darker and more pigmented than 2D's normal yellow resin, but with a faceup the match was IMO good enough that it didn't bother me. The neck was a little thick, and it could use to be sanded down if Cream was staying on it permanently, but he wasn't, so I didn't do it.
The SDGrB body I think has a slightly thicker neck and is taller and a little slimmer in areas. The Gr body I have is from 2019 and is lighter and pinker than my SD13 body. I think it would be a good enough color match, but I haven't tried Cream on it yet. It was one of my top choices for when I was choosing what body to purchase for him before I ultimately decided to purchase the Spiritdoll body. The neck is I think the same size or a little thicker than that of the SD13 body, so it would definitely need to be sanded down.

As Cloudedmind said, Volks bodies are really easy to find 2nd hand. I got my SD13 body at Dollyteria and I found my Gr body for a very good price on Yahoo!Japan.

Keep in mind that judging from some previous posts, it seems like 2D's resin color has been fairly inconsistent over the past few years, at least for their normal pink resin, so I'm not sure how useful any of this information actually is. I was also looking for a very specific body aesthetic (slim, it's surprisingly hard to find) so I'm not sure if any of bodies that I had chosen to possibly get for Cream would be of interest to you.

Actually I would prefer a slim body for Almond too. I think it would suit him better than muscular. I am definitely interested in hearing which bodys you considered.

I heard df-h do skin tone matching.

 

I think it would work really well, personally! The head they have on that body for display is the same size as Almond's, and the neck circumference is just a tad smaller on the body, which is what you'd want. Another option to consider could be Dika Doll, as their 62cm body would fit well too (similar proportions to the DF-H one in terms of shoulders and neck) and Dika Doll resin is a perfect match for 2D Doll, as I believe they're sister companies.

 

I think that would work! I was looking into Doll Family A and H bodies too. I think there was something about their engineering that I ultimately decided against (I was specifically looking for three-part torsos, and a lot of places only offer two-part torsos with an underbust joint T_T). DFH can definitely color match!

The other bodies I was looking into for my Cream head that aren't in my comparison shots were the Switch 60cm body (Likely too pink, but it might work with 2D's normal pink resin?) and the Loongsoul 63 cm body (IIRC it was close enough to Volks in color that it'd probably match). When I was looking into picking a body, I tried to match colors against Volks resin, since I know what it looks like in comparison to 2D's resin, and a lot of people and companies have comparisons against Volks dolls.

Here are my comparison shots for a 2020 2D Cream head in normal yellow on the following bodies:

• 2021 Spiritdoll Elegance, NS, ~61.6cm
• ???? Volks SD13 boy body, PS fair, ~60cm
• 2019 Volks SDGr boy body, PS fair, ~62cm

The best places look in order to compare the resin tones are on my Cream's cheeks and on the bodies' upper thighs. All three bodies have necks that would need to be slimmed down a little IMO, and are darker and more pigmented than 2D's resin. I think both Volks bodies are very good color matches, though probably not as good as having something custom cast. They're close enough in color to 2D's resin that it wouldn't bother me, however. Spiritdoll's current NS resin is much peachier than I was lead to believe based on their comparison photos to Volks' resin, which showed that it was lighter and less pigmented than Volks' resin, which in theory would have been a near perfect match for 2D's resin, which is also lighter and less pigmented than Volks' resin.

I like the proportions and scale best here, though the neck is a little thick and I would personally slim it down. The proportions, scale, and best of all the body's engineering are exactly what I was looking for, so hopefully they still offer color matching (still waiting to hear back from them T_T I'd much rather give them extra fees directly than give the extra money to a dealer).
This body is listed as being 61.5cm with a head, but it's the shortest of the bunch so I think it's smaller.

This is an acceptable color match IMO, and if the body were sanded to reveal the under layer of resin it would probably be an even better match. That said, the posability and engineering isn't great, so that's why I'm on the search for a better body for my Cream anyway . The proportions here are fine, though it's chunkier than what I was looking for and I would slim the neck down if he were staying on this body.

Volks 2019 SDGr boy, PS fair
Darker and more pigmented than 2D's normal yellow resin, but it's lighter and more pink than the SD13 body. Good color and great proportional match, but the neck is a little long and definitely too wide for Cream's little head. This body offers decent engineering and posability, though IMO it doesn't perform as well as the Spiritdoll body does.
Supposedly 62cm with a head.

It's great that Volks normal is such a good match for 2D doll, I can easier request a Volks color match, than for a smaller company like 2D doll

If you want an exact color match for 2D, you could just send the headcap! That's what I'm going to do. Spiritdoll still hasn't responded to me though, so I really do think they've abandoned their International/English storefront/contact email

I think a dealer can help, I just wanted to be able to order directly from Spiritdoll since they'd get much more money out of me ordering directly from them on their international site as opposed to me ordering from their Taobao or through a dealer (who most likely is paying the same prices as on their Taobao and making back whatever extra they charge in profit >w<) Gonna give them a few more days and then try contacting a dealer. Guess I get to head to a home improvement store too! Sending a paint chip in a flat envelope will be so much cheaper than what I was intending to have to spend to get the headcap overseas. Since Spiritdoll's resin texture and translucency is different than 2D's anyway, it doesn't make sense to send the cap if I can just send a matching paint chip.

I believe I heard someone sent a hexadecimal code for color reference too, though I think it will depend on the bjd company if they accept that.

 

With things like that it will depend on if their computer monitor/however they're viewing the color, so it's less accurate. The result would be basically the same if you emailed them a photograph of the resin. Of course, it would probably still work out about the same color, just perhaps not as close.

 

Hello everyone I was thinking to add one anime looking doll in my collection. Thinking about Longchen or Lan Grape or Miren. Those looks close what I would like to fit my smart doll as pair.
If anyone have pictures of them I would really be happy to see them in real.

 

I purchased 2D Miren on 68cm body in pink resin because finding boy Smart Dolls was too hard. His head sculpt and company faceup works well with their anime style. Doll on the left is milk doll on the right is cinnamon. Doll on left has heels, one on right has no shoes. Hope this helps.

Oh thank you it really helps. He looks so good close to smart dolls. And yes you are right that to find dd or smart doll boy is pain in the ass. I think so I will go with 2d doll in future I'd nothing will show up in second hand market.

 

Oh no! It looks like 2D Doll is discontinuing all their 1/3 anime style girls and some of their 1/4 anime style dolls! Just saw a discontinuation category for 2D Dolls over on Alice's Collections. They will be discontinued on 31 Dec!
