2D Dolls

@Krissim Hello fellow 2D tiny enthusiast! What sculpt are you waiting on? I checked for a waiting room as well but it looks like not too many people have these dolls on DOA? I also tried looking on Instagram but most of the photos are kind of old. I ordered two tinies through their Taobao store in May, initially they were supposed to be ship in August, but they've recently pushed the date to October. I'm hoping they arrive earlier, of course, but maybe they just got a lot of orders because of their new sculpts. ;;;

@Pandy Sweet Pepper is indeed adorable! I like the different styles they do for the sculpts, Scone and Berg really call to me as well haha.

 

I'm waiting on a 68cm Almond nude with faceup- ordered at the end of April through Clover-Singing. They mentioned it might take anywhere from 3-5 months, but I hope the wait wont be too much longer! I was thinking of picking up a pair of jointed hands through their taobao store eventually too ;;; Their dolls are too cute! I hope we start seeing more them pop up.

I'm waiting on Creme (not to be confused with the larger boy that is Cream). I think I am going to order a Cherry head too now that I know they are selling heads separately. I also heard their wait times are stretching more toward the 4-5month. Bit of a bummer since at one point it seemed they were on the short side. I'm really hoping to avoid another 7 month wait like my recent Loongsoul took. I guess it gives us all excuses to splurge on clothes/wigs/eyes and such while we wait. XD

 

Well, Almond is ordered and now the wait begins! I got him with a faceup so I expect a longer wait time.

 

@Krissim Creme is so cute, her little face is so precious. I ordered a Cherry as well, I was also hoping the wait times would be on the shorter end, but still crossing my fingers they finish sooner than later. I feel you on the wig/clothing splurges, the two dolls I'm waiting on already have their wigs and shoes. Are you going to style your Creme like the company photos or do you have a different image in mind?

Hello! I have a question. Can anyone tell me the best 2D doll resin match for a Volks Normal Skin or Luts Normal Skin?

 

Hey, all! I had a question too; I have a 2D Doll that I ordered straight from them but it looks like she didn't come with a CoA and now I'm panicking. Do they just not have them or did someone forget? I got a catalogue of sorts from them but that was it.

 

@xRosary Are you sure you didn’t get a little card anywhere with the catalog? Last I ordered from them I got a business card sized one that I assumed was their CoA

Has anyone attempted to put one of the 70cm heads on a 60cm body? If so, what's the proportion match like? I adore Cream, but he'd tower above all my other dolls on his default body rip

 

I am so glad I asked :’D forgot to update you all but I found it! It’s little and more like a gift/business/credit card than anything. But thank you, it was indeed in the little catalogue.

 

Just ordered a 2D Doll Lan (+ faceup), and I'm so excited. I basically fell in love with the doll in the pictures, so I'm styling him very similarly, though with a rather different wig. I'm really thankful for the info in this thread, too - now I know what to keep in mind while I wait and when he gets here!

One question though - am I still to expect a 3-5 month (leaning towards 5) wait time from 2D?

I'm sorry I wish I could answer your question- I was told its a 5 month wait back at the end of April, but I'm not sure what it is now (some others that ordered blank dolls around the same time as me are getting theirs now though!). If you ordered from clover-singing they are quite responsive to their emails!

I have a question too, has anyone ordered a 2ddoll in the past that has a faceup from the company? How is it compared to the promotional photos? I ordered Almond with his faceup and just adore the faceup in his promotional pictures so I hope they're able to replicate it for clients as well. ><

 

Just an update on wait time if anyone was intrested. I ordered a kiwi in Feb (before the 40% off promotions) and was told it would take 2 months. I was expecting 3 but when my 2 months was up, I got an email saying my order was to be delayed extra 3-5 months on top of it due to volume. I assume it was due to the 40% promotion that happen a month after I ordered. I got an email today that she arrived. So about 6/7 months wait....

I really hope I was just a outlier. I wouldn't mind an extra month or 2 but 5 months extra is crazy. My dealer was super nice to give me a refund when they added on extra 3-5 months and will sell it as in-store doll when arrived. Now it's more of do I still want Kiwi lol

 

Thank you for the update! I ordered in April and was given a delay notice immediately after placing an order but saw that people who ordered around the same as me were starting to receive their blank dolls this month. My order included a faceup so I hope it wont be too much longer!

Kiwi is super cute though! I'll look forward to your pictures f you do end up deciding to go through with the in-store purchase.

If it helps any, clover-singing frequently runs 40% off promotions for 2D doll along with free shipping which gets it really close to the taobao price- or even better if you consider shopping service fees! I haven't received my doll from then yet (hopefully soon!) but I've seen others who have and from my experience they're very responsive to communication. Unless you have a proxy or friend that you trust that can make the purchase for you, then that's great! I usually use a general shopping service to purchase from tb and I'm worried they might not be used to handling dolls and could throw away packaging / documentation when repackaging the order which is why I make the suggestion >< That may not even be the case, especially if you communicate well beforehand; It really depends on your preference!

 

Oh no, that was not you at all. I messed it up from the begining. What is clover-singing? Ive never used taobao. I cant navigate it, and using a shopping service sounds expensive.

 

@lividdarkangel Also I must chime in that Alice's Collection also deals in 2D dolls and are super kind! So if you see something thats not listed on AC's site just contact them if you are interested in buying it Clover-singing is also one of the dealers for 2D. I only know of two dealers for them actually so its super nice instead of trying to work your way through Taobao lol.

 

I actually have seen Meng Meng on Alices! And shes super expensive. Shes $540 there. Cheapest I have found her is $499 on Legenddoll. So I am looking for cheaper than that.

 

2D sometimes have a sale on Alice's with the Christmas season coming up. There may be another one. Plus you can always inquire with AC about prices and why they might be different between dealers.

 

@lividdarkangel Here's the link to Meng Meng's page! It looks like she's a little under $300 on Taobao, so I think waiting for Clover-singing's sale might be close to the same price as sleepinghazard said.

 

True. I think there is a sale now actually. But i can only put away 80 bucks a month for fun, be it dolls, crafting or otherwise. $550 ($600 or so with faceup and shipping) is just to much to save up for while still having money to play with. Ive tried doing that and...I just cant.at this point my only hope is my tax refund, but that needs to go to debt so...im just stuck.

Hmmm, Taobao really isn't that hard to navigate, especially when you think of it like the Chinese ebay. And if you use google chrome, you can just right click to open up the navigation bar and click "Translate to English" (or whatever language you're most comfortable with I'd assume) to translate any of the web pages.

The hardest part might just be creating an account, but I did so, so long ago that it might be easier now, and even back then there were dozens of websites detailing how to do so. Taobao also has a consolidation and warehouse service. That way instead of having to contact the seller to ship directly to you, you can have it go to Taobao's warehouse where they'll hold your items up to 40 days, so if you order multiple items but from different shops you can have all of them shipped to you together.

I don't speak or read a lick of Chinese and I've ordered way more then I should directly from Taobao. I'm waiting for several orders now in fact.

@lividdarkangel As I mentioned Taobao is like ebay, so you'd approach it the same way you would ebay. Check sellers feedback, (one of those guides should have some additional information on how to do that), and if buying dolls only buy from official dealers. And these are things you would want to do even if you decide to go the agent/shopping service route. Luts (at least on their old site), and Dollzone (on their chinese site dzdoll.com), both have a list of their official Taobao dealers, and these dealers also sell for other companies. Just checking the official doll company websites is how I found most of the dealers I've bookmarked. Some companies even have a link to their personal Taobao shop. For clothing items I've found a lot of companies by seeing what companies official international dealers carry, and then checking to see if those companies had Taobao shops.

Unfortunately, Taobao doesn't allow you to use Paypal, just like Amazon, since Paypal is a direct competitor to Alibaba's (the parent company for Taobao) Alipay. But, you can use international credit cards, and most credit card companies have their own protections against fraud. If you're not sure what your's might be for the card you have you can always call up your card company and ask.

Within the last year I've ordered from 23 different shops, and I've yet to have a shop not ship me my stuff. That's not to say something can't happen, but if you follow the same rules with Taobao that you would with ebay, you'll probably come out on top more often then not.

 

I honestly dont trust ebay at all...I assume its full of scammers, and theres hardly legit sellers there. If taobao let me use paypal I might be willing to try, but honestly, im really not interested in it anymore. Not after learning all this. Its just not worth all the worrying about getting scammed for me. For now im going to try clover-singing. Much simpler and has good reviews. Thank you though. I really do appreciate the help.

@redfeathers I haven't ordered any 2D dolls but I did order two Universe bodies back when they were having that really great sale directly from a dealer. And, they are currently shipping to Taobao's warehouse. I also have two DZ orders pending. One directly with DZ, through their personal Taobao shop, and another through a dealer. I wanted to test the different shops.

 

If the sculpt you want is not available on the website, you can email Christina (the email listed under "contact us" tab on clover-singing's website: [email protected]) and ask her to create a listing for whatever you're interested in. I had to do this in order to purchase Almond because he wasn't listed on the site yet either at the time. You can also ask her about what the price will be after the discount is applied and other questions you may have. My order was primarily managed through email since there were some errors with submitting an order on the website, but I would still try to make an account and submit an order through there (just so you can check the status yourself). I'm not sure if the site has been fixed since then but she does typically respond back within 1-2 business day(s) so you can email her for updates!

It's exciting to see a lot more people interested in the company as of late.

For those interested in wait times, I just got a shipping notice on one of my orders. It only took a little over three and a half months, so hopefully that is a sign their wait times are getting back toward the shorter end. After waiting nearly seven months for a Loongsoul order, I found this wait far less painful.

Mine was a blank so I'm not sure how orders with faceups might compare as far as the wait.

 

I ordered my Sweet Pepper in May and there are still not news almost 5 months have already passed

DK and 2DDoll are cast at the same factory, their resin colors are identical.

 

Who has sweet peppers already arrived? I've been already waiting for 6 months, but I see that some have already arrived. I'm tired of waiting, because the deadline is specified as 4 months

 

I am super interested in the new doll, but 68cm is a bit too tall for what I have in mind.

I ordered a Jambo with faceup, heeled feet, and jointed hands! It was during the Alice promotion so he will be coming with a mystery bag!

I ordered him on September 18th, a few days after my birthday. My order is still processing, and I've been told I'll be waiting 3 months. I really hope he at least comes before I move states.

Since from reading everyone's posts before I'm looking at December to February as my arrival date. I have many things waiting for him!! TianBa eyes, Dollmore wigs and kimonos, even some dollfie dream girl clothing that I don't think he'll fit but I got them for him anyway!!!

 

I'm interested in seeing everyone's Jambo, Sweet Pepper and Cream dolls!

 

A postage update for everyone! My Almond with faceup ordered in July appeared today. Hope that helps everyone know where their orders are!

Hello everyone! I'm back again with some exciting news! My Jambo has shipped on the 18th of this month! I'm so excited because it was exactly three months since I ordered. I don't know why he is shipping so early? Maybe someone backed out of a Jambo layaway? Or maybe they are just caught back up to their normal wait time! Either way I'm super excited though I am sure he probably won't appear before Christmas. Maybe I'll get him in the gap between holidays.

 

Hello again everyone! SO I am about half way through my saving up for MengMeng through Clover, and Im trying to finalize the options on her. Can you post your pics of their pink, yellow and white skin? Comparisons would be great, but I know thats a long shot.

 

Hey all, does anyone happen to have more recent resin comparisons with any other company? I love Cream's head but am not very fond of any of their body options and am looking for something to potentially hybrid him with! All of the resin comparisons I can find are from around 2016 at the latest.

Does anyone know if they're still being cast at the same factory as Dikadoll? That'd open significantly more options for a different body!

 

in vain, they have excellent bodies! Best in mobility, I would say

 

The mobility looked alright in photos, but I'm not a fan of how the torso joints are done at all. Aesthetically that left much to be desired (I don't like the large gapping when the upper torso hunches forward), and the bodies that they offer aren't in the scale that I want for the head. I personally think Cream's head looks too small for the body he's on (which is also too muscular IMO) and that he'd be better off on a 63-65 cm body.

I found a reputable dealer on Taobao selling only Cream's head, so I went ahead and ordered him. I did some digging and assuming that Dikadoll is still casting for 2D, he'll match the SD13 body I have on hand, and if that scale works I can most likely fit him on a Spiritdoll Elegance body. If that scale doesn't work, I'll test him on a Hummingdolly body.

 

2ddoll has 63cm body, too.

 

I know they do. I'm not a fan of how it's engineered either, hence why I plan to put it on a different body

 

Popping into this thread to say hi! I just ordered 2D doll's 68cm body today because Clover Singing had a 40% off sale and that has to be one of the best sales ever I've seen. My plan is to hybrid a Switch head on the body so fingers crossed it works out proportionately

 

Oh im so jealous. I desperatly want to get a meng meng on that sale, but i just cant get myself to with how uncertain everything is because of covid. I hope it all turns out ok and i end up mad at myself. I hope your hybrid works out!
