2D Dolls

I've been keeping an eye on these threads, and the box openings have been great!
I don't suppose anyone's successfully managed to order directly from 2D Doll? I find the mark up that the two current retailers have to be kind of deterrent to ordering one of these cuties..

 

i emailed the direct site and got an answer very quickly that you can order through them via email, they are more then happy to send to the the US and that there is no mark up for international purchases! i wrote in very choppy mandarin explaining i have very little practical use of the language and that i was very sorry but i wanted to buy a doll and they were kind enough not only to respond but to respond in very nice clear english! i am going to order a body and clothes through email as soon as i am sure i can spare the money!

 

I really like the 2D dolls. And I wish they would release some MSD sized ones to. But I've made up my mind that when time comes I want a tanned anime doll. And MSD size. I Guess that unless 2D Doll release MSD size and add tan to the resin color option, I've have to look somewhere else for my future doll..

I'm not always a fan of anime-style faces, but these girls are so adorable that I think I might have found an exception!! Their bodies are so unique in the doll world and exceedingly shapely and pretty.

It would be wonderful if people could post lots of pictures when their dolls come in!

 

Wow, exciting news that they might be able to take orders direct too! djgigahertz, did you discuss the method of payment with 2D? I am unsure what they do and do not take... Paypal would be nice, but I cannot find any mention with Google translate.
I have been very smitten with the body, but hesitant about the price through all available dealers.

I hope it's not rude here but is there any way I could get a photo of a 2D doll with a Volks doll? Either both in NS or WS. I am so curious to see how they look together.

I'm glad to read about you emailing about the international mark up.. I find that interesting, but also a little odd that they'd ask resellers to make the mark up so much more.

I wish they'd just reply to my email, I desperately want one of their dolls

I would love that heartless_droid! I'm in love with the body and I really would love to have a hybrid since the anime faces don't do it for me. (I wish they did though because they can be so cute!)

I have an update, I finally got an email from 2D-Doll although the email I sent them was a month ago.. This is what they had to say;

So.. I'm not sure what changed as I know earlier in this thread someone claimed to have reached the company and they were willing to do direct sales over seas.. But I guess it's retailers for us!

Just thought I'd pop in to say they've released a new girl. Her name is Ya and she has a steampunk set you can get with her.

 

2D doll has the dream body for my character Kohoshi... I've been thinking about doing a layaway for it but I don't know... (also, just so eveyone knows, Jeeryama on ebay has the 58cm body for $405 dollars on sale atm... ^^)

 

I asked Alice's Collections if you can pick the body you want for the 2D girls and you can! Just specify the body in the comments section when you order.

Now that they got dolls in the right size I like I can start thinking about getting my first anime styled doll. It's long been in my future doll plans but so far I have not had any chance to get started. I really like LCE. Maybe he'll be my first

I agree! 2D definitely seems like a good company to look in to. They have a uniqueness to them that's missing in DD and SQ.

 

I've been wanting some anime styled dolls since Luts released their Kid Anime Versions. I've just been waiting for the right sculpt to get started.

DD have never really been my style. I do prefer resin. But SQ dolls aren't too bad. 2D Doll are my favorite so far. And I like the Anime Luts dolls because of the resin colors available!

My goal will be to get one of these dolls ordered within a couple of months. I've waited so long to get started that I'd preffered it if I could get one ordered before Summer.

I'm really digging the new 1/3 girls. I e-mailed AC and asked if they plan on putting the new dolls up for sale anytime soon. I really admire them, it might even be worth the crazy mark-up for me.

And it's almost impossible to choose which sculpt to be my first! But since I've never owned an anime doll before I might want to go for a Luts TDF Simba or Bambi first to be on the safe side. But Danta is pretty cute too though

Owning an anime doll is a big step for me. in the beginning way before SQ lab and Luts anime versions I never thought I would end up caring for the anime style!

I really love Mumu and Dora, although, I don't like the crazy metal arm she comes with. I hope there's an option to order her with normal body parts.
I would order one of these dolls in a heartbeat if they were $100 cheaper. The 1/3 girls are only about $350ish on the 2D Doll website. So unfair.

I'm glad I waited this long to start thinking about ordering anything! I want my first anime dolls to be special

It'll be a while before I can order anything but I have really fallen for Eileen and Danta. They have both made their way to the top of my wishlist. The fullsets will look so nice together

It seems they are not limited or anything, but I do not want to see the fullsets discontinued oneday

So I'll do what I can to save up for both dolls as quickly as I can! You can say they've become my grail anime dolls

 

The new dolls are all adorable! I think their sculpting is getting better and more mature!

 

I think I just have to give up on trying to make up my mind about which doll I should save up for next. I always do and most of the time, that way never work

I have too many character ideas and too many sculpts that I all would love to get at once! I think I better stop talking about which one to get next and just go for the ones on my wishlist that speaks to me most!

I broke down and participated in the free doll event (Colin + Danta in pink) ^^; I hope my dolls arrive before Christmas.

 

dunno if it helps but i have two pairs of their hh feet They're in NP and they are a perfect match for my DF-a natural pink (made half a year ago). They're really nicely sculpted and the resin is pleasantly heavy :3
other than this -I'd love to get their body one day... just dunno which head bc tbh I'm not into anime-styled dolls (tho they *are* nice within the realm) so I'd just get a different head. But their bodies are soooo beautiful *-*

I got a reply from AC stating that the current estimated wait time for 2D Dolls is 2-3 months. Not bad!

Got my dolls Friday! They are quite nice, the bodies are just gorgeous, the faces are pretty generic anime face-ups but well done.
Skin tones I would classify as risky. Both of mine were ordered normal pink; the little one is sort of pinkish but the big one is so pale she makes my semi-white DD look pink. So I'm not qualified to say which is which, I have no idea myself! I will say I like the darker pink one better but since they both say normal pink on the invoice they could be any skin tone, sorry!

Posing was rough out of the box but glue sueding fixed that right up and all-in-all I'm pretty happy with them both! I've got more pics and maybe a box opening thread to do but here's one picture with both girls dressed and smiling for the camera! Actually neither of them is smiling at all! so consider that a figure of speech!

Regarding the skin tones, here's the official answer from the wonderful Alice's Collections:

"About the skin color difference, we also noticed that, every time the dolls they sent are with a little different skin color, both of the dolls you got are normal pink skin, one might with more pink and one with very less pink, we checked with 2D about this, they said it's because the material is from different batches and it's normal."

Good luck with matching them to anything I guess.

 

Ah! They're adorable! Out of curiosity, what is the quality of the eyes like? I really like the look of Mumu's eyes but didn't realise her faceup would be as peach as it is, it look much much more pink in the promo pics. Goes awesome with her hair colour though!
