Dollstol minis! (Lucy, Soon Sim, Amie, Maru)

      Has anyone bought from them? Do you know what their dolls are like, what the company's like, etc? I want a Lucy, and I have seen on their website that several foreign buyers have bought from them. I was wondering if any DoA members have, and what your experience was, with both the doll and the company.

    2. I have heard of their tiny dolls ..I think Luts sold them ...they may still Im not sure
      there was a thread in the tiny section ...but I dont know anyone who owned one sorry

    3. That's right, and I remember Soon Sim was also sold on the Luts website. I just want to hear experiences with the dolls, good or bad. People like the tinies, but these beautiful minis seem pretty obscure.

      So bumpity-ump.

    5. I was interested in Lucy, she's just gorgeous, but I emailled Dollstol about her and this is what they said:

      Basic (no makeup doll+ eyeball) ; US$ 289

      This is my reply:
      Your website lists Lucy for 260,000 Korean Won, which equals $286 Australian dollars. You are quoting me $289 US dollars which equals 393,732.97 Korean Won (or $431 Australian dollars). Why is there such a big difference in price?

      $289 US dollars is the price not fluctuated.I would like to keep up if the (exchange) rate of below than this to the U.S. dollar.

      So basically they are trying to get me to pay way more than her listed price just because I am not Korean. Or maybe I am just missing something.....

    6. really? They quoted you US$289? Looking at a currency converter, the price listed is US$195.75... maybe if you asked if you could pay in korean won, converting via paypal, it'd be different?

    7. I have been pursuing the matter. They insist this is the price they've always charged, which was fine when the US dollar was stronger, but now its weakening, they aren't adjusting their price accordingly. I will see how I go and if they still insist I pay $289US I will contact the Korean fair trading commission (already done that homework!).

    8. Anyone purchased from Dollstol lately? I never had any joy with them dropping the price to the listed price. I LOVE Lucy and Amie but just have a problem with paying way more than Korean people pay.

    9. I have a friend who lives in South Korea when she's not at school, so when I have enough money saved, I can probably coordinate a GO where everyone pays as much as Koreans.

      (I'll be aiming to do that sometime in fall, hopefully)

    26. re: Posing, she's a dream, really. I mean, other than my Soom Super Gem girl, she's the best poser I have. (okay, MAYBE my brownies are better. But they're puki-size. That doesn't count.)

      as far as resin matching goes, she's kinda-sorta close to LUTS, though more peachy than pink. She does NOT match Dollndoll or DoD at all. She's slightly off from my Super Gem, but it's not horrendous. Nothing some blushing couldn't fix. Then again, blushing solves everything. xD Ummmm, I'll get resin comparison shots this weekend and also some posing shots to show you! ^^

      The heads I am trying to match with new bodies are both Iplehouse JID's. Do you have any Iplehouse dolls that you can compare with Lucy?

    28. No, unfortunately, and I don't know anyone who does. If you know someone with some other resin, we've got a lot in our group. Fairyland, DoD, LUTS, Bobobie, Soom, Crobidoll... I'll be happy to take comparison shots with lots of different types.

    31. I have a Lucy and Customhouse and Dollmore girls, and Lucy is quite a bit darker. I don't have any other girls in a similar resin colour. It's a beautiful colour though.

      Shannon, than you so much for that information! Are you able to do some resin comparison photos to show me? Are you also able to temporarily do a hybrid with the Dollmore and Dollstol dolls or are they of different sizes?

      Hmmm - I know that Dollmore resin is paler than Iplehouse resin, but it isn't a bad match. It looks to me from your photos that Dollstol resin is much pinker and doesn't match well with Dollmore. In that case, I don't think Dollstol will match with the Iplehouse heads I am trying to find bodies for. A pity, because I love this body!

    40. I have a Maru now and I'm very tempted to buy Amie as well... this dolls are just too cute

      Anyone have tried modding the hands? I was thinking of making the socket rounder so the hands will move better but I'll wait for him to loosen up a bit first

      Also adding that I paid him 240USD without makeup wich is exactly what the convertor says, so they charge us like koreans

      ps: can someone change the thread title since they also have a boy now? :)

    42. Someone tried to mod their bodies? I don't really like that he can't move his hands, but I'm not to good at restringing so I fear to do something wrong
      I think a little sanding will do but I need to take off the hands first

    49. A few months ago, I saw 2 Dollstol dolls posted on my local facebook marketplace advertised as "drawing dolls" but I knew they were BJD's lol. I blindly bought them and upon getting them home they turned out to be Dollstol dolls! I was just hoping to get some more info on them back in June, but I have since sold them :blush They are the reason I decided to fully dive in to the hobby.
