Single sentence description of your fabulously basic sock outfit:
Amazing 2-in-1 reversible sweater, shorts and hat combo has a secret identity that lets you go from Deadpool to Black Panther in an instant's notice!

Method and Materials Used:
The whole outfit is constructed entirely from four socks and thread, no other materials or notions were used at all. The sweater is constructed of the Deadpool and Black Panther socks back to back and sharing the collar/straps and hem to make it reversible. The swords applique on the Deadpool side were attached to the original socks, I just removed it and reattached it on the back. The sleeves are removable solid black arm warmers so the top can be suitable for any season. The shorts are very simply made by cutting the ends off of a solid black sock, cutting halfway up the middle and sewing that "V" cut together. The hat is made of the toe parts of the Deadpool and Black Panther socks sewed together and sharing the cuff of a black sock, which can be flipped towards the visible side. The entire outfit is mostly hand stitched, though the hat, sleeves and shorts do have machine stitching to re-enforce the seams. I chose to make the outfit reversible because if you have two outfits in one, then you can keep your wardrobe much more basic and uncluttered, and won't have to pack extra clothes for overnight trips!

This dress was made to be the epitome of a basic dress--formal enough to be worn on special occasions, yet casual enough for an average day, depending on what accessories are used with it.

Method and Materials Used:
I used a single sock, matching thread, and a one button.
As for my method, this is entirely hand sewn on my part. I cut off the foot of the sock, took in the sleeve I was left with until it was form fitting and cut off the excess. Using this bit of excess scrap, I folded and sewed the scrap into a flower, and used a button for a decorative touch. I then hand hemmed the bottom, leaving the asymmetrical style that was bestowed when I cut the sock.

My entry was inspired by the traditional sock monkey, a toy inspired by repurposing old socks!

I sewed this sweater dress and winter cap. I embellished the dress with glass seed beads and embroidered the small heart patch that was cut from the heel of the sock. The ball on the hat is a felt pom pom.

Single sentence description of your fabulously basic sock outfit: Using 3 pairs of ankle socks and one pair of lace pink socks, I created a simple top and skirt with a flying pig theme.

Doll company, body type & head sculpt: Dollzone/ B62-001 body type, Helen sculpt.

Method and Materials Used: I used 3 pairs of ankle socks (Clouds/blue, grey flying pigs and black) and one pair of lacey pink socks, scissors and thread/needle. I cut the top off of the cloud socks to make a hat and cut out a pig patch from my grey sock and stitched it on. I cut the top off of the pink socks and slid it around her body to make the lace shirt, and the same for the lace around the bottom of the skirt, making sure the lace lined her legs. I cut the toe and cuff off of the black sock, sliding it over the pink body piece, where I also stitched a second pig patch for the skirt. I took the opposite pig sock, sliced it in half long-ways for her sleeves, where I then hand sewed along the new cuff and top of the pig square and sewed along the back long ways to form a straight long seam in the back to hold it together, pulling them over her hands and upward to cover her arms.

Single sentence description of your fabulously basic sock outfit: This is an adorable little jumper dress paired with a long sleeve shirt and a cute pair of heart socks.

I hand sewed all of the outfit, including all hems but left a couple hems raw as the look was cute to me (edge of skirt and socks) I only used four different socks and basic needs to sew them together (needle, thread, pins). I only made one pattern during this process, the rest was slowly constructed without one. the socks were sewn directly onto the doll but the stretchy socks make them removable and the jumper was assembled with strips of sock.

This is a colorful and whimsical modern fantasy outfit with an owl theme.

Doll Chateau Bella on the K-05 body with extra joints

Method and Materials Used:
Socks and thread were the only materials used. All pieces were cut in rectangles except for slight curves in the crotch of the two-toned pants, and the armholes and center back seam of the fully lined long vest. Everything was entirely hand-sewn with a back stitch and an occasional slip stitch where needed. The ornamental knots on the hat and along the hem of the vest were made by cutting small strips of purple sock and then knotting them and stitching the knots into place.

Pants: One pair of knee high winter socks, hand sewn into pants, the sock's heels used as pockets. A white sock's cuff was used for the stretchy waist.
Tank top: A single long summer white sock, hand sewn.
Hat: A single rolled up kid sock. No sewing required.
Track Suit Jacket: A pair of black thigh stockings with zippers that ran up behind the leg and a pair of short colored summer socks. Machine sewn.
Decorations: The Sith and Imperial Logos were embroidered by hand.

Method and Materials Used:
Very limited number of materials, none of decorations: 3 pairs of socks, all used in nearly 100% (Amanda is a big girl!), yellow thread and zipper. The outfit was sewed by hands in 95% (because of taff socks fabric).
The set contains 3 pieces: hoodie, skirt and pair of socks. For me it was a challenge of design, not tailoring. I focused on using socks advantages (instead of fighting with limitations) to fit exactly my concept, like elastics, embroidery, fabric sickness etc.

This set of shirt, pants and hand-wraps were designed to create a medieval look with suggestions of armour.

Method and Materials Used:
I used a pair of thigh-high cable knit socks, a pair of plain grey thigh-high socks, and a pair of sparkly nylons to create the shirt and pants. I stitched these by hand and used the top band of the plain socks to create the waist band. I cut out strips of cable knit and sewed them around the neck, cuffs, and waist band for detail. The knee patches, hand wraps, and triangle-detail were cut and stitched from the nylons. I cut out leaf-shaped pieces of plain grey sock and glued glitter onto them for the little armour pieces. I then stitched these on at the shoulders, knees, and elbows. Finally, I glued on a little metal honeybee that used to be on an earring of mine to the shirt!

Zigzag stitch all the way!

As you can probably see, I'm a terrible newb when it comes to sewing. But basically I unpicked the stitching on the velvet-look boot socks, and cut out two smaller rectangles to become sleeves and carefully hand-sewed them into the sleeve holes. The hood was the toe-section of the socks reattached in a different layout. The sleeves themselves and the hood both used zigzag stitching on my machine. (The arm-holes were just too fiddly to use the machine with, hence the hand stitching there!)

His hideous but oh-so-comfy jellyfish lounge trousers were a fairly simple leggings pattern, as were his little purple underwear/leggings both sewn with zigzag stitching on my machine. (The machine really struggled with the thin tights material of the leggings)

His 'Burn It Down' jumper was made primarily from the ankle section of a pair of sports socks, with the sleeves made from the uppers of the foot-section of the same socks. (The uber-stretch on these socks made them a real pain to work with, but it was worth it to get the bulky jumper/sweater look I was aiming for!)

Single sentence description of your fabulously basic sock outfit: An everyday outfit for a goth inspired girl.

Method and Materials Used: Everything is handsewn. I wanted to explore the whole range of textures possible from socks and I used a total of 1 pair baby socks, 2 odd toddler socks, one adult sock, a nylon knee-high and 3 trainer socks. To get a snug fit, I sewed the skirt darts, hoodie seams and the socks inside out on the doll using her body as the form. The bra and panties are finished with a tiny rolled hem and the raw edges of the sleeves and hood are captured inside the nylon seam allowance so they don't show through the sheer part of the top. The embellishments on the skirt and bra are silver plated chain and silvertone beads and they are all sewn on.

Method and Materials Used: All items were hand sewn. I did not use any outside elastic, only the elastic from the top of the socks. I left the edges of the sweater (socks E) raw, for a super relaxed sweatshirt feel. Everything else was hemmed. The only time glue was used was to make the hat flower, which was the trim from sock B, and to attach said flower to the hat. I used glue because the lace is very delicate. I nearly damaged it trying to sew it. I also used B to make the tank top underneath the sweater and the lace trim for the socks (socks F). I did not add any other embellishments as i wanted the sock choices to speak for themselves and keep it simple. I love a fun cardigan so i chose socks C and kept everything else a bit more subdued. And yes, the cardigan has real pockets! The legging shorts (sock G) and the socks were basically made by pinning them tight to the doll and sewing them while on the doll haha. They now fit perfectly while still being able to remove and put them back on. This is a technique i often use for tight fitting items. For the skirt i used the elastic from sock A, which i used to make the hat, and used it as the waist. While socks D make the skirt itself.

Every girl needs a little black dress in her wardrobe!

Extreme hybrid doll, body is a Spiritdoll Fantasy Two-Part torso from the Little Mermaid release, arms are Fairyand Active Line Boy (normal, non-muscle), hands are Fairyland hook-style, legs are Fairyland Fairyline with Moe-line feet, and head is a Withdoll Nana.

Method and Materials Used:
For the bodice, I used a piece of the lace cuff from the black thigh-high, specifically the part lined with silicone to keep it in place, and trimmed the lace close to the pattern for interest around the neckline. Hand-sewn darts shape it under the bust. The back of the bodice is made of part of the control top from the fishnet pantyhose zig-zag machine-stiched, along with strips of the thigh-highs to act as ties hand sewn beneath the embellishments. The waist of the dress is another piece of the control-top, zig-zag stiched only to the front of the bodice, closed in the back with snaps and tucked under. The skirt portion is the remainder of the thigh-highs, plus three or four pairs of knee-highs cut into squares and zig-zagged to the waistband by one of the corners, to create the tattered "hanky-hem". The stockings are made from the fishnets, with another scrap of the silicone-lined lace from the thigh-highs to hold them up. Since I had a piece of the lace left, I made it into a choker, although the head needs to be removed, in order to take it off or put it on. The headband is a strip of the knee-high wrapped around a metal wire, and the flourish at the top of it is the toe part of a knee-high sewn into a circle, and glued to the band. All of the glittery embellishments are nail-art charms sewn into place.

I have handsew the whole set.
The short stripe sock was used to make the legging sew together with white thread and hem with black thread.
The purple sock was used to make the dress and accessory belt. Light grey thread was use to sew most of the dress and accessory. There's five 3 cm piece of flat elastic sew side by side in the double back of the dress with the beige thread. White thread was used for the button on the accessory.
The brown flowery-pattern sock was use to make the cardigan. I used beige thread to sew the sleeves. For the rest, I sew and hem the piece with dark green thread.

The man romper, or Romphim, is the most basic of all fashion choices, in fact, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that a romper is the best fashion choice because – it can be dressed up or down, it's unique, it's fashionable, and above all else, cool.

Method and Materials Used:
First I drafted a pattern using 1cm square grid paper. I then selected my sock choices and notions. Next I cut the pattern, used a sewing machine to construct the garment, and added the zipper closure. I then made the accessories. The socks were made using a sewing machine as well as the fully functional fanny pack.

Inspired by 70s Glam, I present a Studio 54 Sweetheart in her glitterfest jumpsuit
Doll company, body type & head sculpt:
Soul Doll double body, Head = Hye
Method and Materials Used:
Made my own pattern from a masking tape body from doll.
1 set of tights were used to make the jumpsuit. Main seams were sewn on a serger. Then hand stitched down to create a smooth effect
Elastic was used to gather at the ankles and waist via hand stitching. Neck and armholes were handstitched as well as the front pleat effect (made for dance movement - I know it's a doll but human sewing habits).
Belt was hand stitched with seed beads for a subtle but textural effect.. Fasten with a snap.
It's a simple design but effective. but I wanted to capture the elegance of the 70s - it wasn't all hideous.
Materials: 1 set of fugly tights, black elastic approx 20cm, seed beads,1 snap, thread
