    2. Very cool! :D

    3. Some of the Tea Partys can now be reserved!

There is a Make-up Class with BNB Doll, with a doll head & tools all included in the tea party price!

There is a second Tea Party with Crobi Doll where you get an Exclusive Doll, at the Tea Party!

This convention is going to be amazing!

    4. Thanks for the notice about some events being open for registration. I don't check the websites often enough to find out when new things are posted, so this is good to know.

Here is the webpage for Event registration, if anyone needs it: http://www.kbjdshow.com/event-registration/

I think I'll wait to register, since I don't have a burning desire to be with any particular company... but I'll sign up for everything that is still open later on--because they DO sound fantastic!!! (Hopefully, those who really, really want to get a slot will be able to!) :D

    5. Wow! The Tea Party events so far look amazing! Hurray for Crobidoll :aheartbea

    6. Crobidoll :D so cool! I'm in the north of the state, so I don't know if I'll make it, but I want to go!

    7. MigiDoll's tea-party can now be registered for, and what a sexy doll as well. I think I'll have to go to the Migi-doll tea party. Sounds like ontop of the doll and dinner, you have nice odds (3:40) to win an additional doll as well. And well it's one of the 'dinner' events on Friday night, and I will need dinner...so justifiable....

    8. There's a doll? Photo anywhere?

    9. Thanks, vampireanneke! That's a lot of information that I totally did not notice! (I fail at negotiating sites at times!)

The Tea Party events are all separate admission/sign-ups, right? Is the Migi Dinner Party separate or part of one of the banquets?

    10. Migi-doll dinner party is like a tea party and separate price/event. There is an opening banquet and closing banquet and they are included with the full admission ticket (or purchased separately with a day pass). The banquets are Thursday & Saturday, the Migi-doll dinner is Friday night. The banquets will have all the doll companies there, each with their own table. If you sign up early you get first choice at what table/company you wish to sit at. I believe that each table at the banquets will have a unique doll, and those at the table will have a chance to purchase the doll as well. I'm saving my tax refund money up for this convention, the number of dolls and limited editions and such is going to be amazing.

    11. Very exciting! :D I hope to make it and it would be nice to see more companies coming like Soom. I'm glad to see Crobi on the list. Yay!:) Thank you Ms. Cholong for the heads up~'

    12. Aww, don't be discouraged give yourself the opportunity to check out other companies and make new friends ^-^

    13. Well…I've still be stalking the event…this thread and the FB page. :)I'd love to go and since the hotel is basically across the street from the airport - its super convenient…but the truth is that I'm planning a vacation to Korea during this time…so it was a matter of how much rescheduling I wanted to do and if I could somehow fit both things within the same trip.:(

    14. Ohhh I see now, no wonder you're sad =( well it would be great if you could attend but, if not then there's always next time. As long as you do what gives you peace of mind, it does sounds like you'd be busy with planing should you make the decision to go to both. Either way cheer up and enjoy life as it comes and as you plan it too :) Have a nice and safe trip to Korea by the way! <3

    15. Trying to change plans for a trip to Korea would be no fun. Hopefully this will be an annual con and there will be another chance next year. Maybe more companies will come if this year's event works out.

Thanks vampireannke for clearing up my confusion about the Teas and Migidolls' Friday dinner. So many things going on during this Show--it's hard for me to keep them straight.

    16. I'm about to buy my LA tickets. I've got to figure out how the events work. What are the dinners like? They're expensive....

    17. Hi everyone!

We have been featured on 91.8 The Fan!

They had a brief interview with us already (link above), but...

They will be interviewing Ms. Cholong FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 2014 AT 2:00PM PST.

Please tune in! You can listen live on their website.

    18. The interview on The Fan is happening today!

    19. No no no no noooo! I want the River head but my visa is expired and I won't be able to get a new one in time to be there :(
      I really want him :(

    20. Who's offering the River head? --and what do you have to do to get him? If it's something simple, I might be able to help you... but if I have to be at a certain table or certain pay event, I might not!

    21. Interesting in winning FULL REGISTRATION (Opening and Closing dinners included)? Check out 91.8 The Fan's Facebook, comment on their post regarding our interview/giveaway and have a chance to win! :)

      https://www.facebook.com/91.8TheFan

    22. Thanks guys:)…I really really hope this will be an annual or even semi annual event too. I think LA is a great local. I'm wishing this event luck.

    23. My family & I stayed at the Westin a few years ago before we flew to NYC on vacation and it's a gorgeous hotel, really especially lovely - what a perfect place for the convention! I'm bringing my daughter on Saturday for shopping and fun.....it will be her first convention and my second one. We are so delighted it's being held in L.A.! Cannot wait for this! :D

    24. The 'River' head is part of your 'gift' for registering for the Migi-doll dinner party. Which does have a separate cost.

    25. Ah... So far, not signed up for that... But I might decide to later???

    26. The Contest information is up now!

      http://www.kbjdshow.com/contests/

A different doll costume contest each day! Please note the rule about 'no sets or dioramas'. I personally look forward to what people come up with for 'spells of Harry Potter'. I will not be entering due to being Staff for the convention, so no one has to worry about that. But I may bring my Voldemort out for display.

Oh and if you haven't noticed one of the costume contests the outfits can be 'bought', the other the outfits must be sewn by the person entering. So get to work on sewing those outfits for the contest!

I just noticed some of the Openning/Leaving Dinner Partys, have their LE dolls shown now. For the Dinner Partys, you pick which table and those at the table have the opportunity to buy the doll in question. Makes me want to switch tables...

    27. How can one tell if the dinner table has been filled already

    28. As much as I was dying to go to this I don't think I'll make it :( I really hope it becomes a regular thing though! And I was sorry to see Dollmore drop out. They are one company I really wanted to "see" in person. I

    29. Hi everyone!!

The Facebook giveaway ends on the 22nd! If you haven't entered, please take advantage of this awesome chance to do so! :)

    30. I've only checked out some of the One-Off dolls posted for the opening banquet--Just gorgeous!!! Others aren't up yet, so it's difficult to decide what table to pick!

I THINK you can see which people have picked which table on the link to the individual tables/info. ??? Some names were showing up on some tables in the opening banquet, anyway. Or maybe I'm wrong and they were just making "comments"???

    31. I think it's rather confusing... I eventually interpreted it to mean that after signing up for the table you want on the Event Registration page, then you post on the table's page, to further establish your place. Even that was tricky; I couldn't get it to simply post my name, so I had to add a comment to get it to work. So far I don't see many people posting on the table pages, so I don't know if that means not many tables are filling up yet, or people didn't understand that they were supposed to post on the table page, too. :?

    32. I'm sure if you just sign up for a table, and it's filled you will be contacted to choose another table. With such variety there will be a lot of good tables and dolls to pick from.

    33. Hmmm... It would be good if the names showed up in the comments section... so one can tell if a table is filled up already... or beginning to fill up...

I haven't signed up yet... can't make up my mind...

    34. Ahh looking forward to this! I know my friends and I are planning to go. I hope there are some awesome looking costumes in the contests!

    35. I've booked my trip but haven't decided on what dates I want to attend. It turns out that Paris Photo in LA is that same weekend so I'm double-booked on events!

    36. If you can only go one day, I recommend Friday. You'll get first shot at the dealer's room, there is panels all day, several awesome teas and the dinner party, and the swap meet is friday night. There is the costume contest on Friday as well. Saturday will be good as well, but there will be more people with a lot of locals coming in that day only due to work schedules.

    37. Hi, I have a question! I just paid for a 1 day pass and was wondering about next steps, as I didn't receive any followup or receipt.

Will the badge be mailed to me, or will I physically pick it up at the show, etc?
Never mind! Seems I forgot to fill out a registration form :sweat

    38. That might work out best. I'm thinking the Thursday dinner and perhaps early Friday. Paris Photo opens Friday as well but I might go later in the day and perhaps come back to the Westin for the Dollheart thing. Friends are coming down from NYC and Seattle for Paris Photo so it's going to be hectic with my worlds colliding....

    39. I'm getting all excited for this convention. Have to start figuring what dolls to bring with me each day.

    40. There are some of the special one-off dolls posted in the various banquets pages... So pretty!

      I still haven't signed up for a table... Still can't decide! *_*

    41. Oh, It's really good chance to see diverse BJDs. Even if i'm in CA, I might not be thereTAT. But thanks!

    42. So is anyone going to have a space at the Swap Meet? I would but I have to manage the swap meet instead.

    43. If there was a swap meet opportunity on Saturday, my friend and I would be very interested :)

    44. The Swap Meet is on Friday night, it's late enough that locals should be able to get off work, and still make it to the convention.

    45. I agree with AmoraSeth. In addition to Friday, a swap meet on Saturday would have been a nice way to enhance Saturday's schedule, especially since the dealer's hall closes early that day. Also, I'm sure not everyone can make it Friday, or want to stick around that late.

    46. I agree, this would be a nice additional to the Saturday schedule. Though I am local, I cannot make the Party on Friday - hence, I am attending on Saturday. Others may enjoy have a Swap Meet option on Saturday as well. However, I understand that this simply cannot be logistically possible.

    47. The convention ends on Saturday, and there isn't time for a Swap Meet then. We also had to respect the Dealers and not have the swap meet in competition with the dealer's room, as we want to support our dealers, with many of them traveling from Korea. As for enhancing the schedule, if you have a panel or gathering you would like to run in the general panel room, please contact me, I still can make adjustments in the schedule for additional panels.

    48. I'm being terrible about making up my mind in deciding on which banquet tables to sit at... It's not easy since some tables haven't announced what their special dolls will be...!

I guess I'll just have to go ahead and pick without knowing, just like everyone else who has chosen a table so far. *_*

      ------edit.

Well, I picked one-- BNB Doll Table for Closing Dinner...

What sort of gifts are we supposed to make or bring???? AGH!

    49. i just found about this event! i'm a local socal resident just 30 min away from LA so i will definitely make an appearance :) now to decide which of my boys i should bring.. now that is going to be hard..

is there going to be a DOA meetup somewhere?

    50. The Be With You ... Doll tea party event has pictures and info now. Wow! You'll get to learn to sculpt your own BJD doll head. Just getting the kit alone is going to be worth it. Heck I just like how they show you how the sculpting of a head happens.

    51. There are going to be scheduled special interest group meets for Soom dolls, Iplehouse, Large dolls, Small dolls, etc.

But for DoA member, like, free in the lobby or something like that? I haven't heard of one, but if there's interest, I'm sure one can be planned... What would you like to see?

      ----

Still want to know what the Gifts for the Banquets should be like!!!

      ---

OK... I couldn't help it-- I signed up for the Be With You Doll head-sculpting EVENT.

      http://www.kbjdshow.com/exhibitor-confirmed/be-with-you-doll/

They have a sort of ready-made base to build on, and it just looked fun. Most all the events were a little pricey, unless you really wanted the item involved... and the head-base looked kind of cool.

I was tempted by the makeup class from BNB... It seemed expensive, but it included a head and materials, and art materials are things I always love! I love taking art classes. But I might have to skip this one since I already put money into the sculpting class...

Also, the Croibi event with the cute little guys in ns and tan offered--gah--that was tempting. I'd have done it, but I'm practically overflowing with dolls here. If I was starting out, I'd be there. He's an adorable sculpt!

So many cool events! I wish I had more money and more space... and I want to save something for the Seller's Room...!!!! agh.

    52. April - I know! It's so soon - and not many pictures - how are you supposto choose? We picked ' BJD Crobie' table for the Closing Dinner. I also don't know what to bring as a 'gift'. Are we talking some small food thing or small BJD item?

Also concerned - now it shows '9' for BJD Crobie ..... so I wonder if someone didn't read that 8 max or what. Don't know if there is a way to tell who's actually at that table

    53. As for gift giving, it's usually something small and simple. If it's says LA or something like that it's usually rather appreciated. I don't know much about the whole gift giving thing. I think I read somewhere even a nice card is welcome, as it's flat and easy to take with them.

    54. Same here! BWY is my favorite company out of the lineup, and while I was hoping they'd be following the same format as all the other company events, the course sounds like it'll be even more fun. I was waffling on attending the con at all, but now I'm definitely going.

    55. Apparently you have to send in a Banquet RSVP and then put a Comment up... and it's done first come, first serve, so the person who is last to sign up (properly) probably gets booted off the Island...

The dolls from Crobie for the Closing Banquet are GORGEOUS! I'd just want to sit at the table to stare at them! :D

Of course, I saw that it was full and that you'd signed up for it. Hopefully there won't be problems with the rsvp. --I'll look forward to seeing you and Susan. Anyone else coming up?

Oh, good! 'See you at the class, then! :)

Ah, OK, thanks for the info. I was thinking "small" since everything needs to be packed to go back on an airplane (for most people, anyway). Also something L.A.-ish... but, hmmmm...!!! Haven't thought of anything yet! *_*

    56. oh i did not see those meetings! i will look up more information on them, thank you! and yes i just thought it would be interesting to meet people who were on DOA in person, since many of us talk on the forums but maybe have not met each other in real life? but i suppose if there are already meetings set up i can attend those instead :)

    57. Here's the page for the planned groups... I'm not sure if it'll be what you're thinking of, though! (Actually, not sure what they'll be like at all, even though I'm slated to be running one!!!)

      http://www.kbjdshow.com/general-panal-swap-meet/

Maybe there should be a DoA one... I don't know. Or a meetup organized outside of the KBJD Show for those who want to drop by but not actually attend...???

But I'd bet that most of the attendees will also be DoA members. Finding out who they are by user-names is always tricky, since name badges usually don't show DoA User-names (the Dollism Plus US badges will include user-names, though!--that's a first for any doll event I've been to!!!).

I'm somewhat easy because my user name is my real first name... but that's not all that useful, since most people won't know that unless I tell them. *_*

    58. What we could do is a wear a red ribbon to help identify DOA members. Just a suggestion.

Btw, Arpil, I'd say you reserved a good table for the closing dinner. From the photos BNB Doll did an amazing job with the outfits. I think they are just gorgeous!

    59. Speaking of gifts for the hosting companies, do we know how many staff members will sit at each table? I am at the Crobi table and would hate to skip a staff member.
