100% Animal Dolls?

Eve studio, as many other people in this thread have mentioned, makes great animal BJDs. I have a 5cm 3D printed Sphynx cat. He looks like a very little kitten next to my SD sized dolls, but he has blue eyes so it works. My real cats have sent him flying off the shelf he lives on several times so they can steal his spot and, other than landing in goofy poses, he's been just fine afterwards.

Dollzone just had a couple of event dolls that were sheep. They were fairly stylized though. Also, I think that event is over, but you may still be able to get them through a dealer..

I really like animal dolls from Camellia Dynasty and Aileen Doll. But when I saw this thread I immediately thought of a fantasy doll that stole my heart. But what i really really reeaaaally want is a dinosaur bjd.
And to be specific a velociraptor .
I'm a sucker for dinosaurs hihi.

 

I really, really, really want a cat...And possibly a horse someday for a fantasy character but I'm really looking foward to getting a kitty!

bjd animal doll are really cute but, i'm all for my girls so, i don't know if ill ever purchase an animal doll but if they were around a hundred then my wallet will probably suffer the consequences

I like Aileen's dragons a lot, especially the blue one. I would love to have the cats, dragons and bunnies made by Eve the Cat. They are exquisite, and so amazingly well articulated.

 

You can find loads of cool bjd? animals on etsy. One shop called WalloyaMorringShop sells an array of different ones.

Also, theres a shop called ElleoDolls that's on etsy that does even more articulated bjd animals, and they're all really cool!

 

There are Oleum's sphinx (Eve the Cat) 5cm and ElleoDolls cat 4cm.

Such a cute picture Kishara I love the Eve Studio cats! I'd love to get a sphynx cat as a pet for my incoming Iplehouse Isis. I think it would go quite nicely with the ancient Egyptian theme.

I've gone through the whole thread (and nearly died from all the cuteness), and I see plenty of cats, dogs and rabbits, but does anyone know of birds? I need some feathered resin cuties in my life.

That crow is super cute! But it's still a little too anthro-like I think. Maybe I picked a difficult type of animal to turn into a 100% animal doll haha.

 

Im a 3d sculptor, so I can see the problem with sculpting birds: making wings that are both beautiful while spread and while tucked away against the body is nearly impossible. In 3d movies and games there are all sorts of deformations you can use to correct the position of the joints, but with a physical model you can't cheat. Your pieces need to look perfect at all times! I agree though, I'd love a dove or pigeon doll.

 

Yeah wings must be hard because of the way they work. I don't know about others but I think I'd be fine with limited movement on the wings if one of the positions looked nice, either spread or folded, if that meant we could get some birds for our dolls too. But that's just me. A dove or pigeon would be so cute! Personally I'd love a sparrow or a cockatiel too.

 

I'm glad I found this thread. I got and blushed a Cuartos Darkhorn a couple months ago, and was sad I wouldn't have much chance to show him off! I'll be sure to upload some photos to Flickr soon so I can show off my sassy little Tachyon.

 

I ordered Sakura & Paper's Ruby and Sapphire, production will begin at the end of the month . But yeah, I'd love a seal bjd, or an Aileen Doll Cathy too.

I wish most animals weren't so incredibly expensive. I know why they are, though. They are often very small, and have far more complex joints than people, especially in Digitigrade Legs like those of dogs and cats, which need to be able to fold up very deeply for a Sitting pose. Getting that bit of engineering to happen is very complicated. I've been trying for ages with one of my own projects.

 

I wouldn't mind less-expensive non-bjd versions of animals... Even unmoving figures that would make good props for dolls would be nice! The big figure horses for SD sized dolls are still kind of pricey.

I have two animals that I assume are off-topic. They don't have human parts but at the same time are not truly realistic animals. I suppose they could be companions, especially the octopus--think Otto and Victoria!

Wow, this thread is heaven-sent. I've been looking for a good fierce-looking dragon pet for my upcoming doll, and even though I have plenty of McFarlane and Monster Hunter figures that could easily stand in, they're not really that articulated. The moment I saw Darkhorn, I knew I had found the ideal one.

 

More animal dolls and pet dolls being made all the time.

Iplehouse now has a category for Pet Dolls and has a 10% sale on their new Bull and Boston Terriers. Their cats are pretty cute, too. I think they are a little on the small side for the super-large dolls, but I've seen a few owner-photos with large dolls and they look adorable!

I think Iplehouse is selling their 1/3 size Black Panthers for a brief selling period. I'm glad they are re-releasing instead of just stopping altogether, even though, wow, they are big and expensive...! So cool, though.
