100% Animal Dolls?

I have a black tarantula on order from evethecat, he's 14 cm in legspan. He'll be the faithful pet of my MSD. Can't wait for him to get here!

 

How different does a 3D printed animal doll feel next to resin?

 

they are very light, like a hornet's nest and gritty, looks like animal skin more than resin

 

Gosh, I wish there were more affordable 3D printed bjd.

I loooove Elleo dolls! There's a German shepherd I desperately want.

 

I think Eve studios is my favorite. I can't figure out what sizes would look good with an SD doll though. I mean would 5cm look too tiny?

 

Here is one of the eve the cat studio 6cm pugs. I love him to bits, but man stringing them yourself is no easy task!

Radish - 5cm might be on the smaller side for SD. I have a 6cm pug with some comparison shots on my flickr there with a tiny, MSD and SD.
I just saw an 8cm cat with a 70cm and and a 63cm doll that looked pretty good. I think 7-8cm might be the best best for SD.
They have a facebook group as well that can be very helpful as people post size comparisons.

As for the are they durable, i've heard they are. He seems so light compared to resin. Waay lighter, but he survived my violent stringing so that's saying something!

I've been really skeptacle of the 3D printed animals just because of the 3D printers available at the library I work at. It's not that they aren't amazing pieces I've just never seen something like these animals come out.

After seeing owner pics I think I may give them a try. I love the kitties and would love one for my bjds.

 

So I'm wondering if anyone has an Eve Studios cat and an Elleo Dolls cat they can do a comparison of? I'm looking into getting a cat for my Minis and can't decide.

 

Does anyone have anymore pics of Bean Jr from Camellia Dynasty? I am trying to decide between that one and the Paper Sakura bunny, which is adooorable but seems less pose-able.

I love the all animal dolls! I have the obitsu dog but I use it more as a model to draw dog poses than thinking of it as a doll. The dragon doll is one of the reasons I wanted to get into this hobby. I so want one!

 

Has anyone ever seen a ferret or seal bjd animal? I've got a friend who loves those critters and would love a pet for her bjd!

Island-doll Ugly Duckling is comical and cute.
I have ordered a 5cm British Shorthair Blue cat from Pets.evethecat.com but it is 3D printed polyamide so I suppose it is off topic for here. They now have cast resin 5cm and 10cm BJD cats that they did not have when I ordered mine. It even costs less than the 3D printed cat so now I wish I had waited. They have a really cute Pug dog that I really want but have to wait for a few paychecks to clear since I over indulged in my initial BJD shopping spree!

 

Did your friend make the ferret? I would be interested in it

 

I love Aileen dolls! If I were to buy an animal doll, it would be one from them. The Cuarto dragons are really awesome too Darek Donnfhlaidh, your dragons are really awesome, I love the colors and the paint is fantastic

I got this cutie bunny for Christmas! Here she is with my Soom Faery Legend, which is a 1/6 doll, so she seems 'bigger'

The bjd cats and dogs I've seen around are super amazing.

He's about the size I expected him to be, personally, from the photos I'd seen. Honestly, I felt like he paired best with the SDs, as a "drake" or "familiar:"

Eve the cat now has a couple Tarsiers available which are pretty dang adorable! They look super posable and have inter-changable heads.

I love 100% animal dolls, more than anthro dolls I must admit. They are really cute and can be very good companions for others BJD.
I ordered a Camellia Dynasty rabbit a few days ago, hopefully he will be ready quickly, I'm so impatient to have him because I wanted one for several months.

 

A bjd horse for MSDs would have to be the size of a Battat/Our Generation horse... that would be huge!
