Aww thank you. I was so happy to get him. I was expecting to wait a lot longer and wasn't really checking my email, and he just showed up out of the blue! I'm used to dolls taking way more than 4 months. I'm really excited to get him painted and find some eyes that fit.

 

My Xiao Bei-21 finally has eyelashes (not that they can be seen in the photo). Here they are with my Granado Noah.

Xiao Bei-21's character actually appears as a woman by default, but they can take on the guy form if they wanted to.

I preordered a dark tan Xunyichao with the large bust, I'm hoping she only takes 4 months too! I'm excited to have a wonderfully dark girl at home. I really should take some new pictures of Zaria and Willow, my FeiHuaDeng twins.

 

Does anyone here know if the T&D white matches either Dika Doll's pure white or off white? I'm thinking about getting a 2d doll boy head and putting it on the 69cm girl body.

 

May I ask how dark the dark tan is in person?

I'm thinking about maybe getting one of the 72cm bodies in Dark Tan and was wondering if it would work or not for my character.

 

I'm not sure what to compare it too. He's one of the darker dolls I have.
I have an old dollzone boy in tan and a volks boy in tan, and they're both really quite pale still.
He's darker than them, but not as dark as dollshe ebony or iplehouse (ebony?)

I can see about pulling my tan dolls together for a picture to compare.

 

Oh yeah, I like using them for comparison! I'd always think Dollshe's Tan and Iplehouse's Dark brown are more of what I'm looking for considering other pictures I've seen of them. Not too dark as the ebony colors maybe inbetween or around the two I mentioned?

Also, I'd love to see all your tan dolls if you can ^ ^

I have been thinking about what I want to do for my Impldoll Imara's boyfriend, and I really like Mi Xie but I like the 72cm v2 body better than the 68cm one. I asked Alice if that's something that's possible so we'll see if I can do that as a full doll or if I should buy the head and body separately
Edit: Alice said I could, and it would cost the same so that's a win in my book. Don't be surprised if you see me lurking in the waiting room soon

So, I'm extremely new to resin dolls and I wanted to get a TD as my first resin doll!
I wanted to get Du Xiaoju (Young Actor - Du Xiaoju, 72cm Telesthesia Boy. - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections) , and I was super curious if anyone has photos of him in person, and not off the website!
I also wanted to ask would the Doll Family A 68cm body's resin color match? (Doll Parts, Doll Family - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections)

I definitely wanna see if I can interest someone in a split with me for Du Xiaoju, as I really dislike his standard bod.

TinyBabyBlueDollies, u can ask to buy a head separately and take body which u like. On weibo I saw few home pics of that guy.

 

Really? Would I leave like order notes with AC? Or do you mean in a split? (Split, Im familiar with!)

 

Im usually making orders via newclover-singing and as I know they can sell separately (not sure about LE editions). But from basic line they can, ask AC then. Tbh it's very cool TD can sell head separately, now it's very rare to see when company doing this.
I have their LE edition and i bought +3 heads separately

I almost finished adjusting all the details of my Sizhui (missing just a bit of blush on his bunny ears) so I think it's time to celebrate and post a pic of him here on the thread, since his head is a Mu Ranzhi normal pink on a 62cm Loongsoul body normal imported yellow (perfect match!)

I just love him so much!

 

I just emailed AC to ask if they had a shipping estimate for me for my Xunyichao in dark tan, which I ordered on May 20th. They checked with TD Doll, and I got another 1-2 months of waiting, but it's okay. I expected 4 months roughly anyway, I just got impatient and curious as another local collector received their normal skin large body from them in 1.5 months after ordering in June.

So yeah, tan and dark tan takes a while, but pale skinned parts are fast currently!

I need to bring out my TD Dolls again, I have 3 full ones and 1 hybrid (OT head for this thread). Drow, my Long TianQi needs some camera time for sure. But so do Zaria and Willow, my FeiHuaDeng twins... eh... I'll get there!

 

If you don’t mind my asking, I was considering more or less this same kind of hybrid between TD and LS, but does the imported resin show any differently IRL than TD’s?

 

No, I find they match perfectly even in real life. At least, I can't tell my 2 hybrids I got out of this mix and match are actually made from 2 different dolls that have gone through things
If you're patient I can try to take not corrected pics of the resins in different lights tomorrow~

 

That would be really helpful! No rush at all. I’ve been thinking of this combo for months at this point and just about gave up on it. Alice was saying that it likely wouldn’t work but I’m glad to see a second opinion

 

So here's my children in natural light. They got each other's body in the hybrid switcharoo
Jin Ling (blond boy) has an imported normal yellow Loongsoul head from 2021 and a normal pink Telesthesia body from 2022. Viceversa Sizhui (black haired boy) has a normal pink Telesthesia head from 2022 and an imported normal yellow Loongsoul body from 2021.

Huh that's interesting it's kinda incredible how pink Loongsoul's yellow is or how yellow T&D's pink is...

I was heavily considering buying a Du Xiaoju, but I liked how "innocent" Mi Xiu looked. I actually would be interested later this year in taking the normal pink body off your hands, if you are still interested. My inbox is squeaky clean too if you want to discuss it further.

You could even ask Alice to resin match Telesthesia's normal pink if you're worried about the resin match, although the resin shades does seem awfully similar from what I could find. The taobao listing (where you can also just buy the head) has a blank sculpt image on there that I found helpful.

Do you all know if any of the Telesthesia resin colors are similar to Soom 2021 NS? I'm trying to get something close for an artist head and that's the color they said it would be closest to. I don't mind having to do a little blushing.

 

My dark tan Xunyichao (Cari) finally arrived yesterday and the resin is a beautiful color. I got her on the 65cm girl body, which they reworked without notice (they’ve done that with bodies in the past as well, including the 72cm boy body V1) but it’s good. They changed the elbows, hands, and feet. I will need to undress her and one of my FeiHuaDeng Girls to compare them properly.

A quick picture to compare Cari and Willow:

Cari is dark tan and Willow is light from 3 years ago. I really really love Cari’s color, I should also pull out my Long Tianqi who is in normal pink to compare his color to them as well!

totally different head! Open mouth etc. I think I will end up just ordering the head.. I have no body though.. And I really don't like those strong versions I wish the head would fit 10cm neck

 

That is odd, the first picture is the same as the pictures on the other two links, but the rest of the pictures on the page is different doll. It looks like legend doll put the wrong pictures for the head only page.

 

does anyone have a du xiaoju with company faceup they got recently? I'm thinking of ordering the msd version and just wondering how his faceup stacks up to the promo pics and if its worth getting or not lol

would really appreciate if anyone could give me advice! I've seen it's been very mixed on how the faceups looks so idk if it's even worth risking when I could copy it myself...

Geez I was this close to ordering him because I fell in love with his gentle expression he's like a totally different dude!, it's not an ugly faceup, it's good, but it does not portray the essence of the character they sell. Well, at least is more decent than another one from the company that I saw here in this thread. The colors are just too dark, If they were softer, more pastel colors, it would work, even if is not 100% the same faceup at least it would soften his expression

I don't know if it can help but last time I ordered from T&D (through an agent, in 2022) I asked for the faceup to be slightly different from the promo one and got exactly what I wanted out of it.
Maybe asking for a soft faceup for the doll can help?

 

Hi, just wanted to say that I've just ordered Xiao Bei (62cm). He's going to be my first large doll, I only had a mini and a tiny doll before. Originally I was planning to buy another mini doll but I just knew I would love a large doll more. Alternatively, if I'm overwhelmed by the size I could sell him new in box... but I don't think that would happen

Before he arrives I would like to have a pair of eyes and a wig ready for him. What eye size is best for Xiao Bei in your opinion? I was thinking about 14mm with 5mm pupils, would that look similar to his promo photos?

 

I recently pre-ordered the 83cm Male-Mom body (lol) via Alice's Collections. Anyone else have any experience with guys this size?

Looks cute, it could work out with 2 heads that I have rolling around, but I don't like to get bodies in case something doesn't work out, I prefer a whole doll just in case, the last boy(Cloud) they brought is really cute but can't trust Telesthesia's faceup promises and I still don't dare to make my own face-ups.

The body seems pretty, but the blushing is kinda throwing me off. I'd like to see this body without body blushing.

 

Would anyone happen to know a good place to find owner photos? I love the sculpt of TD's 68cm Wan San, but I can't seem to find any photos of him outside of the promotional ones I'm especially looking for blank ones to see if he'll fit the character I'm going for.

I just noticed on Alice’s Collection that TD has a new “1/4 Special Boy Body” that is supposed to be 50cm with a head. And the head options are resized versions of their 60+cm dolls.

I find I don’t play with my 60cm dolls (especially the boys) as much because they’re too large and heavy for me to handle, but I’m always drawn to the amount of detail you can get for outfits in the larger sizes and the head sculpts. There aren’t as many options for 50cm outfits, but I’m very intrigued by this new size. I hope they also do a similar size and head options for girls.

Is anyone else interested?

 

There are a lot of new releases in this size range. I am certainly interested in the TD release! Perhaps we need to start a 40-50 mature male discussion thread!

I mentioned it in this thread because the Mini Dolls forum says it’s for dolls up to 49cm, and dolls 50cm and up go to the Large Dolls. But it seems like companies are putting out larger and larger bodies (75+ cm), so maybe eventually the moderators may consider a 50cm a mini size doll?

 

I mean....not technically since 1/3rd is supposed to start at 55cm on here. Sartoria J has 50cm boys they call msd sized and they're put in the msd sections. Same goes with the iplehouse FID line. Other companies that are in that size range are raccoon doll, the new DF-H bodies, and some new Dikadoll bodies.

 

Souldoll Vito is 50cm, and their thread is in the Large Dolls forum.

At the top of the large dolls forum, it says:
Large Dolls
Discussion of dolls sized 50cm and up (60cm average).

Perhaps what TD is calling this line, “TD 1/4 Boy Special Body”, is adding to the confusion. Though TD is calling this line “1/4”, based on what I’m reading of DoA’s guidelines, it goes in the Large Dolls forum at 50cm.

However, I can double check with the moderators. And if the moderators have no objections, I can also create a separate discussion thread for TD’s 50cm doll line.

 

Yeah I know, I'm just observing what has happened in practice, and really is already happening as the lower 50cm range is really becoming part of the msds. But all this is really splitting hairs, so no need to go all bold on me, we can use our inside voices here :3

I went ahead and created a separate thread for the 50cm line, and asked the moderators to move it if it’s not in the right forum.

 

Finally pulled the trigger on my first two Telesthesia dolls, FeiHuaDeng and Mei Jiuqi as a couple. I admit, I'm not experienced with their dolls in person but I've wanted at least one for several years now.
