66cm+ Dolls Du Xiaoju by TD has arrived! ٩(◕‿◕｡)۶

Hello everyone!

I ordered Du Xiaoju by TD two days after seeing the release announcement here. His smile got me at first sight.
I added face-up and jointed hands to the basic doll and started waiting. This was the first doll I ordered from TD so I thought production would take at least 6 months, but no, 4 months passed and I got a coveted e-mail from Alice's Collections saying "We've shipped your order". That's a good time I'll say!

The post was merciful this time and the parcel was delivered completely undamaged. Yayy!

The box looks nice being made in a minimalist style. My first thought was "They don't have any website now, do they?" though.



I open the box: well, this is also minimalistic. I'm used to foam rubber moulds. Maybe I'm just too inexperienced, huh.



All the fragile parts are additionally protected: feet, hands, and face.

Let's check the head and the face-up!



Weeell, this is definitely not what I was promised by promo photos and not what I expected. It's made with too bright colors, whereas the promo face-up looked much more gentle. *Sigh*.
The smile: WOW. I expected it to be cute but it's more mischievous. Maybe the bright face up plays its part.

The stock blue eyes had too big iris imo so I changed them for the green ones I had.

Let's move to the body. IT'S AWESOME!



1. The elbow joint. It's not double, it's triple, and I'm impressed by how this works. These joints make it possible to move forearms almost in any way. Double joints often require turning/moving the upper arms in order to move the forearm and keep the look of the elbow nice.



2. The body has chest, butt, and hip stoppers.
To be honest, making these stoppers and not adding stoppers to knees and shoulders seems to be a weird decision, but it still seems to work. Shoulders have silicone gaskets and the knee joints design makes them very tight which allows them to keep any positions well.



The only disadvantage is how hard moving the chest part forward is. I manage to do it only by moving it sideways first and then forward.

He even stands on one leg!



The jointed hands are a bit weird. They have rather short fingers and an unexpectedly big wrist joint. Looks like they were designed for another body.
But they pose great so so be it.



The final thing: a pack of penises and the stock hands.



My conclusion: he's beautiful. I've thought out the character for this boy and it turns out this mischievous face suits it even better, so this is the unconditional victory! He-he.

As far as I've heard, many Chinese companies do not care about the face-ups actually and make relatively plain face-ups that have not much in common with the one they advertise in their promo photos.
I'm definitely not disappointed! Such mischievous guy suits nu story even better, so I'm in total love rn

Thank you for your kind words! To be honest, I was confused at first (and that's what this character does! He confuses everyone ) but while thinking out his image and personality I realised that this was even a better option than what I'd expected! So it's a win-win for everyone!

However I wonder whether all the casted Du Xiaoju will have such a bright face-up or it will differ from doll to doll? Will anyeone get the promo face-up?
