Hello everyone!

Something bad just happened today, while I was changing my Raguel's clothes I realised his butt had chipped off at the side I'm never rough with my dolls so this really surprised me! My Raguel is on the Zen body and the resin around the butt area is actually really thin on both sides. Here are some photos of the chip on the right side of his butt (sorry they're not good quality! It's 2am right now):







You can see light shining through this area.



And this is on the left side of his butt, there's already a tiny chip there

I've posted a video too.

Again, apologies for the horrible quality but I had to get this out there. I've contacted Granado with all the photos and the video and I'll keep everyone updated. Maybe I can take better photos when I have time. Hopefully things get resolved soon! I wouldn't want another owner to get a Zen body and be disappointed by it, because it is an amazing and beautiful body! Unfortunately, the thin resin in the butt area is an issue. On the bright side, it's not in a visible area

 

Oh no! I hope Granado can get back to you soon with a solution. Perhaps they just need to remake the butt to make the resin a little thicker.

 

Oh my @Dead! so sorry to hear about the damage. The Impldoll body my guy uses has some pretty thin butt resin, but in the almost four years he's been with me, it hasn't chipped at all. Hopefully Granado will be able to retcon the thickness for future releases.

So I finished my Michael's 100% rooted wig, but hadn't had the time to take photos under natural lighting. I mucked up the artificial lighting in this setup, so the image underwent a ton of photoshopping to salvage things. Funny though, how something as subtle as eye placement could change the demeanor of a doll. All this time, his eyes were in the "neutral", facing front direction because I was too lazy to take his noggin' off and reposition the fiddly things.

Hi~ I just completed my hybrid recently and she's on the femme nuevo body. Does anyone know which companies are a NS skin tone and joint system match for granado's girls? I'm looking for more hands actually; it's kinda sad granado doesn't have more hands for their girls.

 

He looks awesome @AntarelNefertili! Pity about the lighting, but I think you did a good job on the wig regardless of whether it's being seen in natural light or not. Yeah, eye placement and the angle of the head. Plus how the light catches and reflects in the eyes. Sometimes the camera doesn't see what you see, or vice versa.

 

@Quiet and Insane Thank you! Well, I finally got to do another natural light photoshoot, but it's a group pic. I don't know if I already mentioned it in this subforum, but most of my dolls have tabletop RPG incarnations (Legend of the Five Rings, if anyone's asking). This is roughly how they're supposed to look in that setting, which is heavily inspired by East Asian themes. I'm actually due to dismantle the armor my Michael's wearing, so I can change the cording into another color.

Hi friends. Does anyone here have the new Vigor body? I really like it...but am trying to check and see if it can be used with any of their model heads. I like the Garden head...but the order page for that model does not list the Vigor body as one of the options so I am worried it won't fit.

 

@allurose Garden is specifically made for a slender neck and the Vigor body is much bigger. Scroll to the bottom to see the difference in the bodies.

 

Dang...back to the drawing board! I like the smaller bodies (ha, smaller...they are still huge!), but the lack of a thigh mobility joint would drive me nuts.

 

Okay, follow-up question: How can I tell which Granado heads ARE suited for the Vigor body? Is there a list or guide somewhere? Does anyone know which head is displayed on the body in the photos? I do like that one.

 

@allurose Napoleon and Lucifer are made for the Vigor body, at least it is listed in the *Male body set for those two heads

 

Thank you! This really helps! Maybe I will go for the Lucifer head, although I wonder if they will make a slightly smaller version of the body at some point. They do seem to update their bodies regularly, and offer them in different sizes.

 

If you contacted them and expressed interest in a smaller size there's a decent chance they'd be at least receptive. They had a thing not terribly long ago offering bodies in different sizes that just needed enough people to commit to each size to be a go

 

I got a Lucifer in 53cm that way as part of one of their events. He's gorgeous and they even let me switch from white to grey. Granado is very accomodating.

 

thank you, @Girrl and @Iron_Dog ! This is a good idea. I honestly don't mind the extra 4cm that much but the fact that their heads don't fit on the body is really annoying!

I do like that body a lot. My housemate has the 70cm Embody and WOW it's already a huge hunk of resin. Aesthetically, I think the Vigor has better sculpting and balance of realism, but it's really the mobility joint that's a deal-breaker for me. Also, well, let's just say that the Embody's generous "package" does not pack very well lol! The removable options on the Vigor seem to be a much better solution.

 

Heads not fitting bodies is my problem with a head I have incoming. He's an MD head that was limited as was the body he was originally sold with. None of the bodies MD makes now will fit that head (the necks are all too thick).

Most of the time Liroshan (Lucifer 53) goes without any junk in his pants because when I sit him down his thighs push up on the mag part and POP! off it comes. After a few times of having to fish his dick out of the cuff of his pants I gave up. He'll have it for nude shots but that's about it. Also, the handy part is just weird and I still don't know its purpose.

 

LOL! Yes, I imagine I would just leave it off pretty much all the time unless it is a feature in a certain photo. I like the concept of the new Adagio body and others that have a penis-in-pants shaped bulge. But just having the option to leave it off is way better than the awkward shape the Embody will give you in pants. I think after a while of that, the poor guy would have an unfortunate incident with my dremel.

When I first saw the Handy part in the granado newsletter I did a spit-take. I honestly can't imagine a single photo or instance in which it would make sense!! I would be more inclined to use an actual fig leaf. It still cracks me up.

I've modded thick necks to fit regular heads before, and it's a huge pain. I'm over the hybrid-makeshift thing. I want my dolls to be easier now.

@allurose Yeah, I'm not into trying to mod a thicker neck into a thinner neck. It would be a fairly significant reduction, too, as the current necks are 10.5cm or 11cm and the head has a 9.5cm neck.

I agree a fig leaf would make more sense than the handy part. It's definitely good for some lols though.

 

I mean, I make a point of sticking all my magnetic penises on the fridge when the in-laws visit. If/when (let's be honest here, shall we) I get a vigor body, handy is 110% going to be my excuse for him seldom wearing pants. Hell, I might change him out of pants if we have company coming over (especially if it's my mother )

Than you @Iron_Dog! He's supposed to be Elven royalty. Eventually I'll be modding his ears into pointy ones and his overall colour scheme will be in coppers and purples. Definitely keeping the white wig for him though (well not this one specifically, it belongs to Azrael, but I'll be getting another one for him to use). Sort of debating which body to get him. I want him to be slender and tall. He's on Dollshe's Pure body in Pale Tan right now and the resin match is very close, but the neck is a touch too long. I might try him on my friend's Arsene body. Or wait and see if Granado brings out a slim, non-muscular body in 70 cm.

 

This is amazing. I like the way you live your life. And, come to think of it, that hand might make a pretty nice fridge magnet even for company I don't want to shock (much). I might even blush it

 

This is a beautiful sculpt! I love those hands, too. One thing Dollshe does very well. The resin match looks perfect in this photo!

Re: the magnetic dings, last year I forgot I left some of them (not Granado's) in plain sight when some maintenance guys were at home to help clean the air-conditioning unit. I do hope they weren't looking too closely at those suspicious-looking pointy things that were interspersed with the dolls on the piano. :P

Guórén finally got the decent daylight solo shots I owed him after I completed his wig. He still looks pretty dour, but it's fine! If an ex-comrade maimed your leg during what was supposed to be only a training match, you would not be a happy camper, too.

Does anyone have the Gen 3 (newest) jointed hands and the evol body or the embody? Can you tell me how it fits and looks?

 

Played around in a photo-editing app and gave Kaz a smile but he ended up with a poop-eating grin instead and that makes things even better

 

Everything about that picture - the pose, the cigarette, the smile, but especially his outfit and hair - is AMAZING. The static, presumably also added during editing, is also a really nice touch

 

@Dead! wow he looks great! Styling never ceases to amaze me. Mine looks nothing like that. Like, he's on another plane of looks completely XD

So I made my Galileo work by making everyone bigger so he has a larger body now, and is proportionate. But I had to blush him to match Impldoll real from like, a million years ago and he already had a faceup and I really like it. So I decided to try and blush him over the faceup -which worked great, much better than I expected. I went on to applying all his facial hair - still good. Then I started trimming the hair.

I think I can fix it. If nothing else, he will be the proud owner of a shiny new mole on his face, because I'm not doing his beard a third time. I'm not. I did this with my blade btw. So I am the only one to blame here XD

I had to do the dark over the face up on my Raguel head to match a custom colored Impl Doll body and that worked too.

I've never done it this way before, I usually blush first, then faceup. This worked really well though, and maybe better, because I didn't darken the head a lot after matching it with the faceup. Which is what often happens.

 

Here's another pic of yet another Granado/Impl hybrid! (He looks really happy in this photo, I wonder why? *snickers*) I have to consider myself thankful that the resin color deities were being kind when I assembled my Michael, because Impldoll RealSkin and Granado's New Normal ended up matching near-perfectly that round, minimal blushing needed.

Update on my poor Galileo. I don't think it's as bad as I thought. I test-sprayed a piece of the faux fur I used to make his beard and it literally did nothing to the fur at all. So I'm just spraying him, beard and all. If nothing else hopefully it'll act like hair spray and keep everything in place! lol cross your fingers for m D:

@VampireAngel13 Thank you! I'll admit that with the exception of resin color comparison photos, I layer Photoshop effects like crazy when post-editing (how the photo looks off the camera is drastically different). Tis mostly to make up for hit-and-miss lighting setups. Hopefully you were able to fix up Galileo fine tho. It's frustrating how tiny mishaps like that could affect the whole thing!

@petiteballerine Thank you! The dolls in that photo get handled regularly, so I've got their joints mostly figured out.

@Quiet and Insane Happy anniversary to Isilme! I really adore his tan color. I'd love to have more tan-colored dolls, but my wallet usually cannot handle the additional cost for it. D:

Aahh I love seeing him! He's so pretty! And Dollshe's hands are just gorgeous. I wish I had more.
I did actually manage to get him mostly fixed up! He has a darker spot on his face now - no matter how careful I was, it happened. But no mole, and you can't really the chip (I can, because I know where it is) anymore. So he's looking ok!

Photoshop is something I can understand XD It is still an amazing photo!
It is so frustrating! Especially since I put so much work into that head prior to messing it up. If it was a normal faceup, it wouldn't have been a big deal, but I had already done the facial hair twice and it had been matched so well! At least he's more or less ok now.

And...in the same theme - a bearded VIP head (mine is the 08. ignore the other two non-Granado weirdos). his beard also got redone but I had zero problems with him. He actually got an upgrade and is on a way better body now.

@AntarelNefertili - Thank you! My dolls (well my big ones anyway) are a pretty even spread of colours. I'm quite impressed by how close their Bronze is to Dollshe Pale Tan. He may possibly even end up with a Dollshe body one day.

@VampireAngel13 - These are the Fifth Motif hands (though close enough really) and I just adore them!
That's such a good looking beard! I'm glad everything worked out.

 

@Quiet and Insane Oh yeah, I can never tell the difference, I think Dollshe was very influenced by Fifth Motif...And thanks! But he wasn't the problem child...that was Galileo. He's mostly ok now, but he's sitting on a shelf until I can deal with him again. The V-08 I'm pretty proud of! I was really starting to hate him, redoing his facial hair and giving him a new body was exactly what he needed! Plus I didn't wreck his faceup, which I really liked XD

 

Did anyone else get V-11? Granado told me he should be shipping this month. I ordered the WYB faceup too.

 

The V-11head is for their tiny dolls and yes I ordered one.

 

@SteamWitch Not for the tiny body. The original email states:
"V-11 can be put in Male body Zen and Male Embody."

@VampireAngel13 - The Dollshe hands are chunkier and have a more limited pose set, plus the shape of the wrist joint on Dollshe is more oval in shape, while Fifth Motif is a little more round.
Ooh now it's my turn to get all the sculpts confused. I will admit the VIPO series always confuses me because they're so limited and not seen around as often I guess?

I did locate it deep in my email pile but I was and am not in the market for another big boy (yet, ha!) though he was past tempting as a tiny and made it into the order with Ninth. I'm just hoping Ninth and V11 will ship before the New Year holidays in February.

 

@SteamWitch oh wow! I was looking through the old vipo mail and found two emails for V-11 and there is a tiny for a lot less $ on the Adagio body! So we are both correct!

My large head with faceup is languishing in NYC right now. Hopefully I'll have him next week sometime....or not!

 

A doll languishing in the US anywhere is better than no news at all. I can't wait to see your boy.

 

V-11 just arrived. It's really great. Beyond my expectations! Photos very soon!

 

Here is V-11 with Crocus Lee faceup. So much like WYB!!!!! I gave him pink sparkly eyes (a first) that I got as a gift from Jisu Lee of Pygmalion Dolls. I'm surprised how much I like them!
