One would think that the Post Office people would be used to all the large doll boxes that come throught customs from Japan, South Korea and China, with or without signatures. I've often thought that they just don't like having to lug the thing to the door... lol.

The fact that they're selling the assassin outfit separately is killing me.

 

@oriscany I think it depends on who is sorting when the packages come into customs--I get stuff now that has spent all of 15 minutes in customs, but I think that is because they are so jaded now about dolls going back and forth here (Chicago has a pretty big doll community). But every now and then I think they get someone new and they are perplexed by the "exotic" box.

Though your big box theory sounds plausible.

 

This is the tracking information. It's probably easier that I just show what's going on. Usually when a doll package coming to me clears customs it's at JFK, and it goes next to the Baltimore Airport PO, at Linthicum Heights, MD. From there it is generally only a day, sometimes two, before it arrives to my local PO. (I'm about 75 minutes west of BWI airport.) Therefore I expected it on April 24th or 25th, based on previous experience.

But something keeps going wrong with this one, as you can see. Delays at each step of the way and days of "radio silence" in between. And worse, now it's headed in the wrong direction!

Fishcake, yes, that was the form I used online to report the mail missing. It went through, generated a request number and email, and then.... nothing.

April, thanks so much for the shipping address. I've printed it out and will take it to my local PO when my workday is over.

Thanks everyone else, too, for your words of concern and encouragement. I don't like being a whiner, but this thing is driving me crazy.

 

It would drive me crazy too. A doll getting lost in the mail is a nightmare for me. Thankfully, it has not happened to me yet. Fingers crossed your boy shows up soon!

Maybe they have some sort of reason why it got bumped back the NYC?

 

Could it be some barcode reading problem, so places keep putting it aside to look up? Anyway... it's got to be frustrating and stressful!

Uriel looks like a LOT of really cute/handsome guys!!! That smile is just a killer. He's just... wow...!

And yes the Assassins outfit is doubly tempting. I bet my Michael would love it...! But it's LIMITED. agh. I wonder if they'll let me order one before Uriel's sales period is over??? So, SO tempting! (Rather like Uriel!)

 

Best of luck with the missing parcels! All fingers crossed for them to turn up soon.

On a happier note, LegendDoll added the heads for me and I just ordered them! One Enoch, one Uriel coming in ... whenever. It's kind of breaking the bank at this point, but I am expecting a paycheck XXL soonish and I'm not adding any more wait time to what it already takes.

 

Well I just got back from my Post Office and they were no help at all. I was told over and over again that the package was merely mis-sent and would definitely be on its way to me by tomorrow. They refused to make a call or even allow me to talk with the postmaster. They had no idea why the package is moving so slowly between stops nor why the latest stop is in the opposite direction. I was polite. I realize it's not technically the problem of my local post office branch - yet - but they could not have been less helpful.

I'm completely frustrated by this and have no idea what to do next.

Sorry about doing all this venting. I so wish I could have been sharing pics of my boy by now!

 

I feel for you @Jill in WV, I had a package go around Dallas for days from sorting house to departed back to the Dallas sorting house, took it five days to finally make it to Houston. The wildest thing is none of my mail has ever been sorted through Dallas before or since. I have no idea why all of that happened unless someone kept throwing it into the wrong sorting box or conveyor.
Hope it arrives soon.

 

@Jill in WV I'm sorry your very first Granado guy is turning into such an ordeal. I hope the tracking info is in error and he really is heading toward your house!

Do Iplehouse EID clothes fit the Embody?

Poor Jill.... this so sucks! I hope he makes it home soon! Maybe a sweet little thing caught his eye and he went back to check it out. *L* Or... maybe he's just dizzy.

 

EID clothes do fit loosely on the embody for tops. SID is supposed to fit better for the tops.

 

@Ishtar -- As Therealwalter says. EID outfits are about the closest thing that should fit, but they are a little loose. SID tops might work.

This is an Etsy EID outfit on my Evol Neptune. The tops fit almost perfectly! The pants are stretchy, so they had no problem fitting, either.

So, next question is it really $78 more for tan regardless of whether you buy just head or full doll?

 

Short answer is no. Long answer is you have to ask for a refund in the Q&A with your order number after you have finished your payment for the head. If you're buying with layaway, you need to make all the payments before a refund can be made.

 

Hello everyone! I'm joining this thread because I really want to buy the new release Uriel. Has anyone taken the plunge yet? I know he only came out yesterday, but oh he is my dream doll. Seriously...the moment I saw him, he was the exact character I've been trying to shell forever and will go so perfectly with my other SD boys. He is the glue to my whole story. I need to find a way to bring him home. I actually had originally brought home my male "grail" after searching FOREVER to find one- a Souldoll Robb-the first hero from The Epic Series(limited edition) in sandy brown skin thinking he was this particular character, but even though I love the doll to pieces, once he got home, he didn't feel like my character. But then I saw Uriel and everything changed. I now see that my Souldoll Robb is clearly meant to be the sidekick of Uriel. This sculpt is sooooo my OC. There is no denying it. His sculpt is perfection. Even his fullset matches my character. I have to have him.

I'm new to Granado so I was wondering if maybe you guys could help me out a bit.

Is the longest layaway three months? Granado sent me a link to how to do their layaway, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I think they said 90 days-so it looks like a 25 percent deposit and then 3 installments is what my example is. Is that what the max is? I have a couple other things going on right now and would most likely have to do a layaway to bring him home. Just wanted to know if that is the standard layaway option. Also-are there potential legit dealers of Granado that might be an option too for layaway?

In the promo pics of the asassin Uriel, is he in regular tan or in a different resin color? I always have a hard time telling because sometimes they edit with photoshop and blushing and faceup work and it's a completely different resin color from what I am thinking. Have you all found Granado resin to typically be pretty close to what their photos are or do they sometimes arrive darker than you thought or lighter? Do you have a particular resin you would avoid from them due to sanding/seamline issues, etc? Or just a preference? I'm really wanting to go as close to what the promo pic looks like, because that resin pretty much would match my Souldoll Robb and my idea is they would be related. So I'm leaning toward a tan. But not sure if that is actually just regular tan in the photos or if I should maybe go with sunshine? I think bronze would be too dark.

I'm leaning toward the embody instead of the evol. I think aesthetically that is more my style. Do people have a preference with one posing better over the other?

And I'm so excited they are giving the option for jointed hands! I've always wanted some. This would be my first time getting to have some!

I've never had a Granado before, but oh I really hope I can manage bringing Uriel home. The minute I saw him, all I thought was...yup...that is my birthday present to myself. His release arrived just in time for my June birthday.

Sorry if all of this stuff has already been discussed. Just found the thread and now I begin the fun project of slowly backwards reading through the thread while I'm at work to catch up on all things Granado. Haha.

Thank you all in advance for bearing with me and my overexcitement and too many questions. I'm just really excited about Uriel if you couldn't tell.

 

I think three months is the max layaway Granado offers. I think Legend Doll is a dealer for them but I don't know what their layaway options are as I've never ordered from them myself. If you have not noticed, Granado does charge a fee for using laway.

I believe he is in the regular tan in the promo pictures. There is a clear difference between the colors so it's easy to tell. Granado also does not go crazy with the photoshop so what you see is pretty much what you get. With all the dolls I've ordered from them, they have looked just like the promo pictures.

Fun fact, Granado dolls do not have seam lines! Their dolls are 100% sandable so there are also no marks on them, even with the tan and darker colors!

I only have the Evol right now, so I can't tell you if there is a difference in posing vs Embody.

If you really want the outfit with him, make sure you order ASAP. Granado says that it is very limited. Since they are also offering it separately, people have been buying just that. They have not said exactly how many there are though. You can also message them directly with any questions. They have great customer service.

 

Is it true you can buy the outfit separate right now? That is amazing! So I could just buy the head and outfit now and purchase his body later then if funds were a bit tight? I really want that outfit as I imagine a lot of people do. And they are offering faceup services on the head too right? So I could get faceup A on my head if I ordered it now as well?

Oh I really hope that is possible because I'll order today and then order my body down the road. There will always be bodies to buy.

 

If you go to his sales page, you can buy just a head and his outfit. You never have to get a full doll I think you can also get a face up on just a head order too. If you order a body later, if you give them your order number, they can look up the resin batch and match the body to it for you as well.

 

Granado tan is a little darker than Souldoll sandy brown but they look nice together. Promo pictures of Granado are usually very close to the real product. Embody and Evol pose about the same. Both stand very well.

 

Thank you. Good to know that they will look nice together, but not be an exact match. I don't like matchy matchy, but as long as it is close. So we are thinking that the Asassin pics are in regular tan, then?

Really? That is good to know. I will keep that in mind for when I order. Definitely plan on just ordering the head and outfit for right now then and will have them match it for me!

 

@Meggethann --- I think the Granado tan is very similar to Iplehouse Real Skin--so if you can find comparison pictures of a RS doll with a Souldoll, that might give you some idea of how the colors would go together (unless someone here has a Granado tan and Souldoll tan???--there's a Granado comparison thread you can check, too).

You can maybe check out how the various resin colors might look in the comparison thread, too... (there's lots of Granado with Granado pics there).

I've got both an Embody and Evol... I like the aesthetics of the Embody better myself, but as for posing and other issues... I think they are very similar. Embody is very slightly slimmer in SOME areas... but the jointing, I think, is not that different. They were made close in time--I think the changes are mostly just in the look... but they might have shifted some of the jointing a bit... but nothing major.

I DO wish Granado offered a slightly longer layaway--and without the fee--but some layaway is better than no layaway. I haven't looked into their official agents (that's a new thing, I think!).

Buying just the head can be a good alternative--as others have said--keep track of your order number so Granado can try to make sure the resin will match when you get a body! That's such a great thing... having to deal with resin batch changes can be a bit worrying otherwise.

 

I don't have Souldoll tan, but Granado tan and Iple RS is close-ish. Close enough that I have my Uranus (on the old Nuevo) wear Iple hands So yeah, it works, if you're not too picky. (Comparison pics are in the thread @april linked to above.)

Oh well, I was just playing round with various options and put a tan Uriel with face up A, embody and assassin outfit in the shopping cart and my finger sort of slipped and hit the buy button Oops and whoops So now I'm going to have to see how I can raise the funds to pay for him in 90 days

 

*LOL* Gratz! I just got done with a layaway on the Vindoll- you'll be required to do the down payment, THEN 3 months of payments. They have the coolest payment method- each payment has its own invoice and button, so it is all laid out for you. You just click the payment number you're on and they have it broken down for you. Easy peasy!

Let me just start by again thanking everyone for their help, support and empathy while I was struggling with my Neptune's unknown whereabouts. You all helped me immensely.

The boy made it home today! I'm not sure what finally shook him loose, but once on the right track, he made excellent time. I picked him up just before the PO closed this afternoon.

I am pretty much blown away - I expected to like him, but he's even better than my expectations.

Anyway, ya wanted pictures, so here's the first one...



Eyes are Eyeco and I think they are staying, his wig is just one of the first I tried that didn't look too bad on him. Still seeking The Perfect Hair.

Whew! We can all relate to worrying about tracking a wayward doll! Things are anxious enough even when they arrive with no problems! SO, I'm happy to hear that your Neptune arrived at last!!! Such a relief!!!

And I have a Neptune myself, and think he's fabulous, so I'm glad that you're more pleased than you expected! (Again--we can all relate to THAT, too!)

What skin tone is he? (it's hard for me to tell tan from ns unless there are some other dolls in the photo--so much is the lighting--but I'm guessing tan, right? NS these days looks super-pale what with all the tan colors offered by companies!) He looks very handsome!!! Those pale eyes are just piercing!

I think it was the fact that he was my first that made it so hard. I'm so glad the waiting is finally over.

I love your Michael... makes me wish I hadn't missed out on him. And Neptune looks fab in the sunshine color.

My guy is the tan resin. I was forced to take pics under artificial light since it's dark and rainy here today, and he looks a bit lighter to me in the photo than he does in person.

 

I edited my previous post... I figured your boy had more color than a NS tone. But thanks for confirming. The tan can look pale-ish depending on the lighting, but still shows some color. I LOVE those pale eyes on him!

Granado will re-release dolls, so there's the possibility of more chances. I think they've already had a re-release of Michael (--with a discount no less. Is that still going on? I can't keep track--mostly because I was still paying off my Michael when it happened!).

That last bit of waiting can be the WORST! But even worse to have to worry about the tracking showing weirdness. Glad it's over for you and that you can enjoy your guy!

Question. Does anyone know where I can find a basic suit that will fit the Lads body? Will they fit nYid boys or still the SID guys? They are much more slender than Evol so I'm not sure. I just know that the Pancho I have on order is going to be a suit guy (because I love guys in suites yet none of my boys wear them!)

 

The neck is big--otherwise they fit all the standard SD stuff you get from Luts, Dollheart, Ebay--even the SD pants fit fine. It's buttoning the collars that is tricky, but a tie fixes that. Did they say when he might ship for you?

 

I just ordered him last month so I don't expect him anytime soon. But I'm planning ahead. If he fits the regular stuff, I have some things that I can use until I find 'the perfect' suit.

Neptune heads are small... around 8"... they fit nicely a 7-8" wig that has a little stretch. The 8-9" can be a little large even with a silicon cap... Looking at Neptune and Michael together makes Michael's head look a lot bigger! But not so much bigger that they look bad together...

You can get almost all Granado sculpts via LegendDoll. They are a confirmed official dealer in Japan and they have a special deal with them and can offer nearly every sculpt. That's how I got Enoch and Uriel (heads) ordered in one go.

 

Congrats Jill. He is so totally gorgeous, and I'm glad he's where he belongs.

Aernath, I love mars, and he really does look great in the Iple things. I keep looking at all the photos in the Granado threads trying to pick a resin color. I have only a Jaden head in Normal and Mar complete evol in Bronze to know the colors. I love april's Sunshine Neptune's resin.....the doll is beautiful (not to mention the great ski outfit). I do have several of the Iple RS dolls and imho the resin looks to be a very warm tone, and a very natural skin color.
