Ummm... might be that the second Neptune became available I placed an order so fast I think Paypal got burn marks... (Not that I'd pretty much been stalking Granado's FB page and his order page, nooooo... )

 

hee hee hee! I was too. But then couldn't stop escalating my fake order. I'd start with just the head. Then it's head and body. Then it's head, body, and faceup. Then it's head, body, faceup, clothes! Shoes! Sunglasses! OMG! Step. Away. From. The. Computer. NOW!

 

But those sunglasses look awesome! And his hoodie too, you can't just leave him naked... and it'd be a little bit of a shame for a boy so pretty to be just a floating head... *grins* And then of course your heart might just say that it should move from being a fake order to being a real one... *nudgenudge*

(What can I say? I'm itching for heart-led order-based company... )

I will have to wait and see if I can afford any more than the head. If I get just the head, I will get the outfit and stuff too so it will be enough to go on lay away.
If I can swing the full doll.... probably bare nekkid. I can make some clothes. ^_^

Ok, adding Neptune to the list of MUCH WANT. Looks like I'll be spending my next paycheck on a head and some clothes. I really, really cannot afford a full doll right now, which is sad because that body is just gorgeous. He'll get one next year if I'm good and save wisely.

That's a Monique Blaire, size 7-8. He can wear the 8-9 but not as a short-style boy wig. I wish Monique had those in more than three colors. They make great pixie-type wigs for elf girls too.

Does anyone have any owner photos, or know of some to look at (other than Granado's), of the new Bronze resin?
The new Tan looks more like the old Sunshine, and the new Sunshine looks more like the old Bronze, so I'm wondering what does the new Bronze look like.
If I get just Neptune's head, it will need to be bronze to match Mars' body so they can share. But, my Mars isn't done yet, so I have no idea if I really like the new Bronze or not yet.

Man, as soon as we get used to a resin color, companies change it up.

 

You know, I just got another secondhand Granado head (Jaden, have wanted him forever) and his "normal skin" is considerably darker than Gabe's, Gabe is a perfect match for Dollshe freshskin. Jaden is more like Dollshe oriental and almost a perfect match for Granado's old normal, which was yellow-toned (I have a Void.F in that resin). He works pretty well with Dollzone/Doll Chateau normal-pink, but not as dark or yellow as DZ normal yellow.

Does that sound like typical Granado normal? I'm thinking Gabe is actually Granado's white skin. Any thoughts?I'm fine with Gabe being pale but I'd be a bit relieved to find out that he's white instead of normal.

 

He could be! I was surprised when my white V-06 head came in and wasn't paper white, and actually matched my LumeDoll Normal Yellow resin. I'll see if I can remember to take a comparison photo tomorrow.

What skin tone is that?

I do love that evol body... So stretchy clothes will fit? How much bigger is it than the Nuevo body? Nuevo was a bit too muscular for some SD17 clothes... could fit, but was tight, particularly on the shoulders.

 

I believe it's Tan.

 

Mmmmm.... he's just yummy. Tan. (Thanks, Aernath!) I guess the Bronze is redder? But hard to tell alone in photos since colors shift so much...!

Anyone know where to buy a wig like that? I like the color combinations... although maybe even more blond would be nice...

Does Granado have a skin tone comparison shot up somewhere (I suck at finding such things! was just looking and failed!)

Say, you lovely folks - does anyone happen to have a Granado guy on a non-Granado body? I'm torn between Normal Skin and Tan for Neptune('s head) ... a tan Neptune might be able to share Uranus's Nuevo body for a while, but he will need a body of his own, which might be easier to get hold of if he were Normal rather than Tan. Do you guys know of any options?

 

Neptune's Girth of neck is 11.8cm, Dollits D.A.D. is 11.4cm, Dollzone Robin/Isaac more recent body is 11.5cm. Dollzone's looks more muscular to me, I wish these guys were already showing up on DoA.

Hmmm. Dollits only does Normal Skin, right? I seem to remember their NS matches Iple's NS, which in turn is a decent match with Granado ... that might just be an option.
Not in a hurry though, my poor cat just racked up some €800 in vet bills and we're not even out of the woods yet. I guess I'll have to wait for a re-release and live vicariously through you guys in the meantime.

I just had the luck to try my Charles head on a Dollits body this weekend, and wow did he look awesome on it! The shoulders are lovely and wide, and the neck fit was great (please note that my Charles head is the old version, but I don't think there's too much of a difference between the older heads' neck openings and the Evol-compatible heads). The Dollits NS is a nice lighter pink (indeed close to Iplehouse) - I didn't have Granado NS dolls with me, but I think the Granado NS is a little bit more on the peachy side. Anyway, nothing that a faceup couldn't match, so I'm now hooked on the idea of getting a Dollits body for my Uranus

As for other hybrid options: my tan Lads body has an Iplehouse Special Real head on it, and the match was really good at the time (I don't know how much the Granado tan changed since then). My WS Charles is on an Aprilstory body (AS is decidedly whiter), and my NS Uranus (and Andrew) is currently borrowing a Luts Super Senior Delf body (match is nice, but it is an older body).

If you got Uranus and his body together...then you can ask Granado to make Neptune's head in that color. Because the tan that Uranus came in is a pretty good match to Iple's most recent RS. I got these two just a month apart.

Yay @LuckyXIII! His tan skin and those eyes will look just as gorgeous in person as they do in your pic!

 

My Chocolate Mars has arrived. I took some comparison shots so you can see the Evol body next to the Nuevo. Evol is definitely thicker and heavier. I have pictures of him next to Iplehouse EID Taregan on my flickr. The color is virtually identical to Ebony. Evol is more detailed and less blocky than EID superhero body.
He stands and holds poses very well.
Crocus did the face up using only black against the brown resin which is a bit disappointing as the face could be alot more detailed with more colors. I suppose he was not really prepared for the color wheel manipulations that go into a detailed African face up. He looks good for now but will probably redo it in the future. I got Pluto's outfit to clothe him so will not need to worry about clothes.

 

Wow, I wasn't expecting the Evol to be that much bigger. Poor Rinzer is going to feel inadequate once my Pluto and now Neptune arrive XD

Yes, I've seen all the company photos for the resins, but what I see (and saw when I ordered) there for Sunshine, and what I received with my order of Uranus, are very different. Moreso in person than I can get to show with the camera. He's very dark and very red in person. Doesn't match any of the other sunshine resin boys I have bought over the years.
Since the Sunshine has changed so much, and I think it was Ara* that showed us that the Tan had changed so much, and I haven't seen Bronze in person yet, I'm a little reluctant to order Bronze without feeling like I have a good idea of what to actually expect to get.
At least it looks like Chocolate is pretty close to what the company photos show.

yuan_mdx that's what I'd do if was planning to keep them sharing bodies ... but if Neptune is going to be one of the main crew, he and Uranus will have to be able to interact, so he will need his own body (even though my wallet is screaming in protest, lol!)
I tried Uranus on the SID and the neck is too long ... he'd definitely need modding and I'd rather pick a less pricey body for that. Then again, what with the current vet bills it'll probably be mid-2016 before I can even think of getting his body so there's plenty of time to find the perfect one. Silver linings, eh?

I hope your cat gets out of the woods and soon! We had a very Vet heavy summer and boy was it expensive! The Vet Tech was jokingly telling me they were thinking of naming one of the exam rooms after me, since we were spending so much time (and money) there.

The Bronze I have is a nice light brown color suitable for a really tan white person or a light skinned black person. my sunshine Andrew is a more orange Caucasian hue.

I spent the week doing nothing except tattoos. I'm afraid my poor Uranus is going to be covered in criminal tattoos very soon.

Since I have most of the skin colors (just need white, bronze, and chocolate) I took some comparison pictures. In the pic below, the heads in the back are Pink skin from 2012.

So I settled on a name for him. Please say hello to LaShaun Dupree. The Pluto outfit actually came with a label for EID size clothing. The clothes fit but I had to take his hands off to fit through the jacket sleeves as his fingers are posed wide apart.
There are silicon inserts in the shoulder joint that serve like sueding (similar to Dollshe 28M body). The internal peanuts in the elbows and knees are smooth which allows a swiveling movement to different angles and the elastic in the arms is a double string so very strong.

 

Congrats. He is really handsome.

LuckyXIII -- thanks for the resin comparison link. I really couldn't find it, although I've seen it in the past! Hmmm... which color would I want???? (But, noooo! Stop thinking about ordering!!!)

aernath -- Yeah, the shorter layaways makes it a bit harder to order dolls... It's sort of a good thing? But... waaaah!!!!

Cool seeing all your sunshine boys! Makes body-swapping a bit of a pain, but I kind of like how they are slightly different tones.

Ahhh, @therealwalter, your LaShaun is making me excited for my own Mars! I'm looking forward to the shipping notice for him, which will hopefully be soon. I already know exactly who he is in my narrative, and I got him in Bronze with the full face painting, including the beard.

 

Congrats Therealwalter on LaShaun. I saw on the waiting room thread that you got him and I'm so glad to see photos. He's wonderful, and I'm so glad to hear that he fits the EID clothes.

Aernath, I can't get over how huge Awin is. I think that boy would be carrying me around....lol. The tone variations in the Sunshine would make matching a challenge, but in a way I like not having them all the same exact color.

Yes, yes! So exciting to see Mars in owner photos! Sounds like we got twins, Kiyakotari.
My Mars also has a name and slot to fill, which for me is pretty rare these days.
His name is Shade, and he is Ghost's work partner. Not sure what their work IS, but that will come later.


Yuan_mdx, those tattoos are looking good! I know they're a lot of work, and I can't wait to see them all done! I am sure he will look stunning when you are done!

Titan is big, but I don't really think he is until I go to pick him up. I have several dolls that tower over him, but he is definitely the heaviest. And his bottom half sags on the strings when I pick him up. Poor guy!
He has so much character though. Always seems to be enjoying life whenever I look at him. Makes me smile.

 

When I took down all my dolls to take their faces off (lol) for the comparison pics, I found that Vee has apparently turned into a wet noodle. I need to restring him badly! I was also going to do a group shot, but forgot until after I got them all put back. My Venus is still blank and I'm really hating the wig she has on. Guess it's back to looking for one that works for her *sighs*

 

april - I know...I'm a tad jealous too coz I know a sculpter who can sculpt bodies and heads, do faceups that people kill for, take great photos, make backdrops....everything! It's almost like the gods got bored when they were delegating talent and just when "here! have it all! now I can go home!" LOL
Threalwalter - your Pluto is awesome~~I can see why Crocus only put black on him coz he probably didn't have any other color darker that'll show up. But dark browns and lighter oranges would make the face more lively.
aernath - Thank you. That was the easy part. Everyone of my characters have barcodes on their shoulders so just thinking about taking all their arms off makes me nauseous.
