It's one of the few times I'm glad to be back in Austria and didn't get into the hobby until I returned home u.u These waiting times and GSKS SUCK! And would drive me crazy.

I'm grateful not to have to pay customs on dolls in the US. It almost makes up for our healthcare system.

 

I may have a chance to get her as well as another head they have (fingers, toes and eyes crossed!)

edit - I'm such a dork sometimes. I guess the parcel services are possibly still on strike, or haven't caught up with the backlog ... it might not be customs' fault after all Goes to show, dolly deprivation makes me unable to think straight

I'm rather glad that we only get charged customs fees for imports worth over $1000, but I think our government is going to change it to anything over $100, which is rubbish given the state of the Aussie dollar at the moment.

 

[MENTION=26862]Ara*[/MENTION] - Oh yes! One of my favorite perks of having big dolls, is that they get to wear the big patterned fabrics! Our xtal actually made that whole outfit! I think I would lose interest half way through.

Thanks to everyone on the comments on Joe and Patrick! Joe definitely outshines Patrick, but that's because Joe has the company faceup. I could never get Patrick to look that good on my own!

 

I don't suppose it would do any good to kick up a fuss? I mean, there must be others who are less than thrilled with the idea of paying more ransom to the government and would want to get out the pitchforks. . . I mean petitions.

Ah! As I recall, Dollshe has those in their 28M line. Cool!

Heh. . . Here I was a bit worried those clothes might be too small. Sewing is fairly fun and I can get it done relatively quickly. It the finishing, tying off the threads and hiding the tails, that trips me up.

I just got a mail that my Uranus (and the second Pancho head) was shipped!
Wow, what a timing, had thought about writing them the next week but this is of course way better

Now to hoping that I will like the inbetween color and everything is correct with the order.
I received the uniform for my Uranus a few days ago, the Sadol Green Beret set...took a last picture of my Saint in it and edited very sloppily the Uranus' face on it for fun.
Please look as good in real life

I only did a quick skin tone check - the match with Iple's old RS is pretty close, the RS is a wee bit darker, but easily blushable Pics coming soon.

 

aernath - Don't worry, I'll let you know if I do ever show him the photo. He does live about five hours away in a remote location so that may take a while. But I'd love to see him with a Titan as a mini-me. XD

xtal - There's several people that have already been making a bit of noise but I doubt the government is listening.

Jany - Ooh that's exciting! Also, get better soon.

Ara* - Wow your Saint is gorgeous! I really like The Uranus head on it too (and hey, the photoshopping isn't that bad!)

Jany - Marshmallows? Interesting. Good thing I've got some on hand should I get sick (again) this winter! Their tans look good together! I'm off to have a look at your box opening...and dream of the body that my Mads will get later this year... XD

Snowy - Yeah...not too many people are thrilled by the eventual changes. It's bad enough that shipping out costs an arm and a leg already regardless of value. I'll be sure to let everyone know of Sam's reaction, don't worry.

[MENTION=24277]xtal[/MENTION] - It's that hiding the threads thing that makes me prefer hand sewing over the machine. The machine makes soooo many loose ends! It frustrates me because then I take twice the time it took to sew the bits together, taking care of the loose ends!

I'm still a bit underwhelmed, all things considered, but I was expecting that. It's always the same with me and blank dolls. Doing their faceups, making their wigs, watching my OC come to life ... that's when the real magic happens I'll be trying my hand at facial hair for the first time, I'm excited and a bit nervous

 

Ooh, do show us progress photos Jany! I love watching the transformation from a blank doll to something amazing and individual.

 

I just uploaded a WIP pic in the box opening thread. He's far from finished, but this sculpt is such fun to paint! He's bald and lash-less and needs his proper eyes (eep), but he's already channeling his grumpy self

I hope that Crocus does do a "muscular" replacement for the Nuevo--it's such a great size and sometimes you need someone heftier than the Lads.

Hey everyone! I just put an order on an Agent Mads head, and am super excited over this guy OuO I've been looking into Granado over the years I've been in the hobby but haven't had the courage or the funds for one of my own, but finally! He's going to be this tough bodyguard for one of my other dolls, so I'm really looking forward getting him home, giving him black sunglasses, a good looking suit, an ear piece and a gun tightly pressed against his chest under the jacket xD So yeah, hi! xD

Speaking of Mads...I finally got the courage to attempt Iwan's face up. It's still far from finished, but I'm really happy with how it's turned out so far, given it's only the fourth face up I've ever done (and the first realistic one at that!) So, what do you all think so far?

Quiet and insane - he's looking fantastic The scar goes really well together with his tough look and the eyebrows are delicious :3
