Arthur Theodore Connor

Maker:
Charmdoll
Head Sculpt:
Julie-Lulu
Skintone:
White
Body:
CDB-26-01
Sex:
Male
  • Modifications artist(s):
    snow.lili
    Provenance:
Bought secondhand with box and COA.
    Reason for choice:
Loved the little painted heart on the nose at the time, had no plans for the doll until much later. I wasn't doing anything with this doll and had already been playing with the idea of getting a toddler version of big Arthur.
    Best Points:
Perfectly palm-sized, double jointed, hands are super cute.
    Worst Points:
    A little snappy sometimes.
I literally just bought this doll because she was secondhand, cheap and cute. No plans at all. Had it for over 2 years without doing anything with it and during this time I got artwork commissioned of Arthur as a child, and the idea of getting a doll modified into that came slowly... decided on this one because it was cutely androgynous and in the end extremely happy with how he turned out ♥

Art credit for the image goes to Frankie Addams.
  • Favourite colours:
Every color, his mom loves pastel shades on him because they contrast so nicely, and Arthur's favorite color at this stage is lilac.
    Fashion style(s):
    Anything cozy and cute.
    Key fashion accessory:
    His big teddy bear.
Still often dressed by his mom, little Arthur really loves picking out outfits together with her. He loves anything cute because he's learned that other people, young and adult, think he can be a little scary because he doesn't have a face and is such a pitch-black color, so he prefers looking sweet in cute little outfits so people will stop avoiding him.
  • Name story:
I love Arthurian legends, and for his second name I wanted it to be Theodore so his mom had an extra cute reason to call him "Teddy".
    Character age:
    5-ish
    Character gender:
    Male
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is available for offsite roleplay.
Arthur Theodore Connor was born with a birth defect that gave him no facial features and ears, and his skin was pure black (he was born from two American white people and does not consider himself part of the Black community). Nothing else is really "wrong" with him and his parents kept him away from doctors except the usual, necessary visits to monitor how he was developing etc, because they didn't want their son to be stuck in doctors offices his whole life.
The other side of his mutation is that his skin can mimic textures. He can't become a material, but his skin can feel like it. So it makes him very happy to find new types of textures and kind of "collect" them to mimic them at other times. He CANNOT mimic actual skin -- the closest he can get is silicone.

During his childhood years, other children often avoided him because they thought he looked scary. Figuring out what his mutation could do, Arthur learned how to adopt textures and started using the soft fluff of his favorite teddy bear as his skin to make himself less scary -- it worked, and his mother started calling him "Teddy" as a result (a play on both the skin texture as well as his middle name).

Little Arthur is very creative and loves drawing and playing. He doesn't have a lot of friends who come play at his house, but he's great at entertaining himself. Recently learned about paper dolls and they've been a long-term fascination.

So far, your doll is the only one I can recognize on sight, by name, out of all the ones I've seen
