His nickname is Jiro. I named him partly in honor of the legendary sushi chef Jiro Ono (the subject of the documentary "Jiro Dreams of Sushi").

Aijiro, affectionately nicknamed Jiro, is the last son Ikoma Jinsuke sired with his beloved wife Ikoma Kaguya. However, he is not the youngest child of the family, that distinction belonging to Jiro's half-sister Rin, whose biological mother was Shosuro Okuni. Being born only days apart, Jiro and Rin were raised as fraternal twins, similar to their older siblings Kokiden and Kokichi. He also had a foster older sister, Maiya.

From the very beginning, Jiro exhibited several quirks that set him apart from Jinsuke's other offspring. He was the only one to have inherited his mother's golden eyes, which were markers of a powerful affinity to the otherworld. Strongly interested in the culinary arts from a young age, Jiro hoped to be able to meld cookery with beneficial spells one day.

Unlike his siblings, Jiro has a stronger bond with their father than with their mother. Nonetheless, he loves his mother very much and is reasonably affectionate with her. His favorite sibling is his older sister Kokiden, who was especially fond of his cooking. By contrast, he has a rather contentious relationship with his older brother Kokichi, who viewed his younger brother as a rival and often butted heads with him for their father's approval.
