ZuZu Delf Discussion Part 4

I really liked the bull they had last time. I kind of hope for a cow, but not too much because my other dolls are stamping their feet for new wigs and eyes.

Huh, they did the Three Musketeers with Zuzu before! Guess they really like that theme!

Well so far I'm safe! The only ones I'd want would be Mir and the Bull, but I already have them in colors I prefer to these. Okay, four more to go!

 

Mir the color scheme, I just love him! Also, Wolffy is lookin' so so cute too! Um...so what was the going price of most ZuZu? I kinda am thinking about Mir maybe...

 

Phew! I'm safe from the first 4! Pics of the other 4 should be released Wednesday or Thursday. I've been wanting a bull but this fullset isn't screaming at me and I like to keep my fullset Zuzus dressed in them so that means safe. Of course the other 4 could be a whole different story >.<

 

DANG! A "Three Musketeers" theme would normally do nothing for me, but Aramis reminds me sooo much of my swashbuckling Papillon rescue dog Zevon... Have to keep telling myself it would be ridiculous to spend almost $400 (including shipping) for a "display figure" when there are so many other BJDs that I would actually play with...

 

*whimper* A Romance Wolfy - and my favorite Musketeer. I am in so much trouble!

The Mir is too cute! I just... want to cuddle him. The Wolffy is adorable as well, but I love the Wolffys so... I have both a Mir and Wolffy so I'm going to try to avoid pouncing on them. If they're going to stick to the Three Musketeer theme, there'll probably be a girl. I haven't got a girl styled zuzu yet so I'm hoping for one of those (please let it be Bichon...).

 

Oh gosh if it's Bichon, I might cave too!! I really loved Iron Fan Bichon!

 

As amused as I am to see the bull as Porthos, Mir has my heart at the moment.

 

I am a complete Zuzu newbie who has been stalking Luts forever waiting for a Mir or Bull rerelease (after kicking myself for skipping the Journey to the West LE event). Could any regulars help me with some newbie questions?

1. Is this event likely to be limited by quantity or by number? Is there any way to know in advance? I know Luts do both styles of events, but I'm not sure how worried I should be about possibly missing out on this event!

2. What sort of price range are these dolls likely to be? It looks like blank Zuzu unlimited dolls are ~$180, and face-upped ones are ~$230, but I see a few LE fullsets selling secondhand for $400? Are the LEs that expensive straight from Luts, or are the secondhand prices a bit higher due to being LEs?

3. Is there any way to know roughly when these LEs will be going on sale? Do we know if we'll get to see the 'second wave' of Zuzus (which I think I understand we're expecting?) before the end of the order period for this wave?

4. How do LE dolls normally work with regards to extras? Is there normally the option to get a naked, blank doll with no eyes or wig, or is are fullsets the only option, or something in between?

5. Are there likely to be skin tone choices for these LEs, or is it more 'what we see is what we get'? I'd really love a Bull in the darker tan he was available in before

6. If it's normally only possible to order complete fullsets, is it common or rare for people to run splits here on DoA? I don't know enough about Zuzus to know if other dolls can share their clothing, so I'm not sure whether there'd be any interest in splits for LE fullsets?

I'm dying to know which other Zuzus might be released... my wallet is going to cry if Oink/Ggul, Frise/Bichon, Persi, Velo/Fenny/Truffle, Nor, Mong, or Rumi are included as well... here's hoping it's Lio/Wolffy/Rabi/Corni or something so I'm safe!

 

1. I'm thinking this will be limited by time (like a month or so). They haven't done limited quantity in a couple years, if I remember correctly!

2. I'm thinking these will range around ~$350! People usually raise the prices since they are LE, but you can sometimes snag them for cheaper~

3. I haven't been super paying attention to *when* they are available for purchase since I don't plan on buying one right now (LOL), but it should be soon-ish! We're expecting 4 more releases!

4. LE dolls come fully dress with eyes, wigs, outfit, and accessories. Usually everything that is pictured~ The only option that I can recall is if you want shoes or not.

5. I do not believe you can choose the skintone, that's only allowed for the unlimited dolls unfortunately

6. I haven't seen a split for Zuzu's, but I'm sure it's not unheard of! I've been begging Luts to release more clothes for Zuzu's but it seems they've put it on the back-burner! HOWEVER, Fairyland's newest line of dolls, RealFee, is *VERY* similar to Zuzu Delf size!! I've ordered RealFee May's outfit in hopes of it fitting my Zuzu girls!

Am I wrong to think that Mir and Rumi are the same mold? Usually one is painted more girly... But iunno xD;

 

Thanks for all the information! I'm hoping I can snag at least one or two Zuzus in this event, but buying new doll lines from new companies always makes me a bit antsy (especially when they're LEs!)

I know almost nothing about Zuzus (except I want too many of them!) - I just scrolled through the LEs to list which sculpts I'd definitely be interested in buying if they're included in this event. Rumi could quite possible be the same exact sculpt as Mir, just painted to be more feminine. I'll have to let someone who knows more about Zuzus confirm or deny that for you!

 

The LE's are faceup/outfit/wig and set skin tone. You can't change the skin tone. And sold as a set. It was going up - last group was $350 ish. It might be a bit less this time since they lowered prices. The 'optional' things often include the the weapons or shoes, which you can add on or not.

yes, I've seen splits done when someone doesn't want the outfit or extra's.

 

Hehe, yea! I'm thinking that's the case~ Mir would be the boy since in the very first release of the two dragons, Mir wore blue and had pants! Rumi wore yellow and had a dress! In the Journey to the West, they released a Rumi who also wore a dress/was a girl!

I feel like the second set of four will be revealed in a few hours, when it's morning in Korea. Then the two Kid Delfs (the red ghosts) will be revealed tomorrow around the same time, and then the two Senior Delfs (the green ghosts) the day after that. Then they'll all go on sale next week. That seems to have been the pattern they've been following.

 

Omg you guys, the next ghost is up and is a Bichon and is absolutely beautiful!!!

 

I'm a little sad that they didn't come up with a new theme. :c

I do like Persi, so I think I'll get her and one other.. maybe the Bull. It would have been nice to see something new though. :/

 

Awww, Bichon is so cute!!! But thankfully, I think the Iron Fan version is my ultimate favorite! I would LOVE her dress though!!

Oh no! I really like the Bichon fullset and my family just got a real Bichon which makes me want it more! I really like the Persi fullset too but I already have a Persi.

i like that they released Ggul again as I know a few people regretted not getting one once they say my LRRH piggy.

EDIT: Luts just put up a notice. They go on sale on Monday and are limited by time. They are available until July 14.

 

All 3 of the new wave are sculpts I want My poor wallet.

At least I can take advantage of the 10% off 3 deal... maybe I can get Bull-Mir-Ggul at least... Persi is unlimited, and Bichon (while adorable) just isn't as unique as their dragon/bull/pig sculpts.

Is the layaway information on the website accurate? 45 days to fully pay, 40% of order up front (for a three part layaway)?

Also, can anyone help me get an idea of a fullset outfits rough 'value'? Is around $120 reasonable, or very low, or very high? Because they'll be automatically included in the fullset, I'm guessing there won't be an official price put on them, and no one selling Zuzu fullsets secondhand seems to be splitting the outfits for any price

Edit: Is there much of a difference between Ggul and Oink, or are they the same sculpt painted differently like Mir and Rumi?

 

I believe Ggul and Oink are different sculpts, it isn't just the faceup with them. Ggul's eyes are bigger and closer together than Oink's. And Ggul's mouth looks slightly open whereas Oink's isn't. Though that could all be an illusion caused by the faceups

EDIT: I just noticed that they changed the Cardinal's sculpt name to Oink, which makes sense as I thought he looked more like Oink than Ggul based on my assessment above.

 

Hey! They did release a Bichon, heh. I'll probably skip this one since I have at least one of all these sculpts and Bichon's face-up isn't quite doing it for me, but it's so hard to resist them all...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the two piggies are a little different, but here's a photo of my Oink, Hero, for comparison. Her bangs obscure her face a little, but I think you can still see the slight differences.

 

Ah I'm so happy they released new Zuzus! Unfortunately none of them really scream "must have" for me. Not that I don't like them, they're all very cute! I really love the face on the bull one, it's so cute. The Wolffy doesn't have a fang or the big eyes though. I feel bad for being so picky because I'm so happy they're releasing them, but at the same time not what I'm personally looking for.

 

I love the styling for Bichon and Persi, but not sure if I want one of the dolls though.

 

Yep, that's what the "Romance" title means -- half-lidded eyes (same for the Romance Lio Athos, you'll notice, but not the Bull or Mir).

I personally like the sex-ay look Wolffy better, but I agree it makes a considerable difference.

 

I do know what "romance" means...I originally wrote "Non romance" but thought it sounded weird so I changed it.

I do like his grumpy face. I do wish he had fangs though.

I'm still trying to understand Luts' Summer Event stuff. Is it correct that if I order $1000+ of dolls, I get two event heads and two of the little fortune delfs?

You will indeed get 4 gifts, I am 99% sure lol. The fortune delf gift tier is separate from the normal event gift tier, and it has to be $1000 in dolls only. If you have $1000 in dolls and then some other stuff, you'd still get the fortune delfs but if you have $1000 including the clothes or wigs or whathaveyou, then you don't reach the two fortune delfs prize. Whereas, if you have $1000 in dolls and stuff or in just dolls, you would qualify for the event heads and faceup and stuff.

Ooh, the prices are lower than I was expecting! I was worried about them all being $350-$400, but instead they are $300-$330! Such a relief!

I can't believe I am trying to jump from zero Zuzus straight to four, but I really, honestly, truly CANNOT decide which of the four I love I want the most. I really hope I can get them all! *crosses fingers and toes*.

If anyone would like to share some Bull, Mir or Bichon spam with me (to go with the Oink and Ggul spam already received), I'd definitely love to see it

Man am I bummed out. I was planning on getting a few dolls from this event, and since I've never seen a Zuzu event yet I didn't realize they included clothing which in turn made their price go up. Ack. I want that bull, but damn... I do not want the clothing. >_<

It's been forever since I've been in this thread. I was so upset that they didn't have xmas zuzu's this year, but these summer zuzu's more than make up for that I think. I'm definitely getting Bichon, if not Bichon and Persi. They're so adorable.

 

I always dreamed of a re-release of Mir, and now he is finally here again ...together with so many other wonderful Zuzus...
*sigh* All the years I thought I'd be save of Zuzus, they are cute, but seeing pictures is enough. But now... I'm doomed.
There are 4 of them I really love. I'm thinking of Mir, Oink, Bull and Persi. Bichon would also be so wonderful, but those 4 already take all my money.

 

Could anyone with a Wolffy (preferably the newer sculpt with removable ears) show me what his head looks like bald from the side + front? I'm really curious about the possibility of modding one, but it's really hard to get an idea of his head shape when Luts mostly takes front and 3/4 shots!

i like type 2 for posing it is greatly better
i wish it still had more posability maybe type 3 has it ???

but type 1 is better for sitting and yet it get less loose =_=;;; ( bad at restringing haha)

i like to make them compete at clothing competition at costume con and anime con ^^ and to put them on display cause theyr too cute ^^

my last i bough i think was type 1 but was at a anime con already there so no choice on body but no wait time either ^^

Type 2 has the double jointed elbows (pretty sure the knees aren't double jointed). Type 3 is the same as Type 2 except it's 6mm taller. That's all

 

I personally like the Type 1 better. Mine posed like a dream. Granted, my Type 2 needs restringing, but I think the extra joints exaggerate this.

I tend to prefer double jointed bodies, so I have been contemplating getting him a type 2 body, even though he poses okay right now as well (just the regular single jointed limits). I don't like restringing either. Hmm. I guess he can keep his body for now. xD

I just put the latest Mir release on layaway with FF&D- he'll be my very first Zuzu, and I'm so excited to get him! (Took the plunge because I noticed there was a long while between this release and his first one.) I'm going to call him Natsu, after my favorite Fairy Tail character. Eventually, I'll have to buy him a pink wig.

 

Awesome! He will make a perfect Natsu!! I wish I could order Mir, but its just not possible at the moment, so I'll have to wait for wonderful pictures from those of you lucky enough to order one.

I'm going to be ordering at least a couple! I'm getting Bull and Mir for certain, and probably Oink, and maybe Bichon. I still wish Luts would allow people to choose whether they want outfits or wigs with their LEs, though. I'm going to end up with so many outfits and wigs I have no use for
