ZuZu Delf Discussion Part 4

Albino lions do exist. They are gorgeous and often have blue eyes. I don't know if you have any ZZD, but real brown skin isn't really all that tan.



Here is my Lio in real brown skin sitting on the shoulders of a Momocolor girl in tan skin (judging from pictures, her tan would come close to Luts's tan (not light tan).
The others are white skin and grey skin. I have a normal skin pukifee, Momocolor and Souldoll dolls. I could do a comparison? I can add my white skin dolls as well, if you like.

 

Anistasiya Thank you! And with the rest of your post, it makes me really sad that they don't have any plans to release basics of them. I really want a Wolffy. He's so precious, especially with his little fang. He's definitely a "must have" for me, someday. I even have a good idea of what I'd name him if I got one. At the very least I hope they release more versions of him in the future. How would one go contacting them about it?

Thanks for that, Shirelae, you have such a cute crew! Unfortunately even the real skin brown is too dark for my needs I basically wanted something that was a shade just above white (though the doll leaves WS is a nice shade!) and as close to the skin colour of a certain person, as I could get.

I hope you can get a Wolffy one day, Geekachu! He's probably my favourite zuzu sculpt, which is funny because I didn't like them when they were first released (with attached ears). It must be the wig.

As soon as my new camera comes I plan to do just that!

 

I emailed luts and they said that they do plan to release new zuzus this year (yay) though they couldn't specify what or when. Still I'm excited to see what they'll do!

Though I am sad to hear they're also not going to restock an item I wanted, I am very happy to hear this news.

Papi was my ultimate Zuzu grail, so happy they re-released him as D'artagnan!! Here's my boy, Kenji, his master is a lord knight, so it was fitting that he claimed this armor when it came home to me. xD

I got the Bull secondhand because I'd held off on getting him on the original release thinking they'd release a Taurus. They did not. Glad I was able to get him anyway! He's such a stoic, serious cutie!

 

Aah I'm so jealous of your bull, he is beautiful! I was in the same boat as you, holding off in hopes they would continue the zodiac series with the bull for Taurus. Whatever happened to that series, anyway? I wish they would pick it back up again, I would love to see which Zuzus they choose for all the other signs!

Love your Peter Pan Nor, too! He was my gateway drug into anthros since I couldn't resist his cute little face and hooves when he was originally released.

I was looking through the arrivals thread and saw that someone who just ordered a Kid Delf from Luts got a Zuzu Delf sticker... of the old rockstar Mati? It's a little odd they're sending out stickers of an old release, isn't it? Maybe they found a whole bunch they had lying around and decided to get rid of them or something, but odd!

 

I had a lot of trouble with this one for some reason, and even now I'm still not sure if it's quite accurate, but here is my manipulation of a zuzu tanuki from a Luts Wolffy picture.

Recently I got a new wig for my doll, but it had trouble staying on and kept popping off. It can stay on with some effort and the ears to hold it down. I guess it's too small. It's weird because it's a 6-7 wig which is the size of the one he's currently wearing perfectly. It's a mohair wig so I guess those are softer/stretchier? If I got others, would it be better to do 7-8 to be on the safe side?

 

I think 7-8 would be way too big. Have you tried a hot-glue wig cap? Just measure the size of the doll's head, and lay out a piece of masking tape that length. Run hot glue down the length of it, then peel it up and glue the ends together so it forms a ring. Tuck it into the rim of the rig, and put the wig on your doll's head - that'll keep it on for sure! ^_^

 

have you gotten mohair wigs from that person before? It's possible that their pattern is modded for a specific type, and even though a 6/7, might be closer to a 6 when you might need closer to a 7. Is this a store or a person? If a person, you could ask them. If a store... hmm.. maybe out of luck, unless just returning it.

I had a similar issue when I ordered a wig from an etsy person. She had two 7/8 sizes, and I didn't think it made a difference since my doll type was not listed on either. However, when I got the wig it was TIGHT and small looking - even though a 7/8! So I asked, and she quickly made and sent me the Other 7/8 - which fit perfectly. I sent the original wig back to her. So now I know, on her patterns, the 7/8 'minifee' style doesn't work for my dolls because I have no minifees and their headshape is very particular - or different enough to not work on my Luts.

 

The wig that fits with no issue is a mohair wig from Dearmine, and the one that I'm having issues with was from ebay. It might be the headshape thing.

 

I've ordered a 6-7 from that person too recently!!! It's like a really small 6-7... I can see why you're having an issue T_T

My two female Zuzu's wear 6-7 sized wigs, one from Leeke and one from Monodee and I've never had a problem with them being TOO small =/

Here's my Rumi, Risk~ She wears a 6-7 wig from Leeke with a HDF wig cap from luts underneath~ The wig cap helps the wig not slide around as much for me.

True that, Risk's wig is gorgeous. To add, my Lio is also wearing a 6-7 wig. A fur wig. He also uses a silicone wigcap to prevent sliding.

My dolls regular wig is actually a little similar to that one, Garlan! That kind of style looks cute and works really well with Zuzus I think.

My regular wig for my Lio fits perfectly, it doesn't have any problems with sliding even without a wig cap. That's why I found it strange that the other one I got fit weird, but as was said the wigs from that seller are just smaller. I could see how a longer wig might have some trouble without one though.

Have we had any word of a ZuZu release in the next thousand years? Seems like it has been way too long especially with how popular they are. I love all the new shared pics, keep them coming, maybe it will tide us over until Luts graces us with what we love!

 

I remember someone asked not long back in the LUTS Q&A if they were, and they said they had something lined up but not what or when. @o@ I'm hoping, since it's coming up, for the summer event we'll get some new little animal friends!

 

I mentioned earlier that I emailed them and they say they have plans to release them this year, but didn't have any specific timeframe or anything. I'm really looking forward to it! I was thinking of getting another zuzu, but knowing that they have plans to release new ones this year I'm like "no...must wait!"

I mostly buy Monique wigs, because one of my local doll club friends is a Monique dealer, so I can try before I buy.

My two Zuzus -- a Nor Sprite and a Basic Truffle -- both fit the 5/6 Moniques better than the larger sizes. The 5/6s are quite snug, sometimes too snug, but IMO the 6/7s tend to be "too much hair" for such tiny dolls. A 7/8 would look more like a tent than a wig on Shelby or Mairi!

My two, at least, have just about a perfect 6" head circumference. And individual wigs aren't always 100% 'true to size'... like I said, even with the commercial Monique models (I've tried several hundred wigs on dozens of different dolls over the past 15 years), there can be just enough variation to ruin the fit of a particular wig. And, as always, "just a little off" makes much more difference on an 8" doll than a 16" or 24" one.

If they're being vague about a Zuzu release, maybe there won't be one for the summer event? A few years ago when I asked about a Zuzu event, they told me to "wait a few months".

 

when i asked them for a zuzu delf realese last event. i tryed to specify that i meant the zuzu delf line, not the minimi, not kid, and not anything of the larger lines... The answer i got. please wait. zuzu delfs will be ealesed soon in this event. and they realesed the big lio and the other one.

You ask for zuzu, they say yeas to zuzu. just not telling u wich line

 

Looks like the Summer Event will be starting soon! Will have to watch the website to see if there will be any zuzu's this time.

 

Looking at their site, none of the ? cards link to a zuzu page. The last 4 could be zuzus, but they could be anything else. I'm thinking they might be releasing a new line.

 

I'm betting the red ?s are event heads/parts or something.

The treasure hunt map also basically says Summer event version 1.0, so I'm holding out hope that they'll release some zuzus after the treasure hunt thing is over.

 

Finally had a chance to get a decent photo of my Sagittarius Lio, Helios.

 

Looks like more dolls will be released later in the event like usual so there is still the chance for Zuzus.

I'm sad that they aren't releasing new Zuzus, but there's still the rest of the year, so here's hoping!

 

There's still hope for us Zuzu lovers!!! I'm honestly not a fan of the Kid Zuzu Delfs, so I didn't really look into that new one... xD;

Well yes, but will they be Zuzus I HAVE to have? THAT'S the question! I already am on layaway for another company for a doll. But EIGHT? That's a lot of chances for temptation.

 

8 new Zuzus!? Gah! I hope there is nothing I love because in the last two weeks I've ordered 4 BJDs, two of those are on layaway, so I'm strapped for cash right now. >.< Who am I kidding, I know there is going to be something I love >.<
