hm, I don't think that the problem is the arms being too short, but the torso being too long. Wait, hm. On second thought, the torso is the right length (the whole body is 7 heads high?) but narrow, so the arms ARE a little on the short side. Good news is you only have to lengthen the lower arm, since the elbow joint is in the right place. He doesn't get a penis? ;_;
poor dollie of yours so sexless he seems fine i really like his thighs they have muscles! i like him i cant wait to see the rest of him!
The doll will have p33n! Only, not untill Ive sanded the waist a little more . . . (He is made from paperclay, so I can take one step at the time. . .) And yes, you are right about the arms, I need to work on them .x_x Next time I take pictures, he will have better arms and equipment! I also orderd S-hooks from the internet, and so soon I can test string him. I hope he stands. ^^
I think you've done a great job! I do think maybe his torso is a little too long? What kind of paperclay have you used?

I have worked lots since last post! ^^ I stung my doll and took pictures, and after that, I did what I allways tened to do -- I was able to see all of the mistakes I overlooked, and had to go back and fix all of them! since last photo, I have: moved the neckhole foward shaved down the back of the head re-sculpted his lips shortend the torso given him p33n fuesed the torso to the bottom piece(he was haveing problems sitting up) re-made arm joints re-made hands and hands joints (twice! O_O ) re-made leg and thigh joints (I still ahve one knee left to re-build) and I ahve begun to re-do the foot and ankle joints as well.^^;;; Many of the new pices are still rough, and poor doll has no feet right now . . . dureing work, my mom decided to make a roast, and turned up the oven without looking inside to see the dolls torso and hands . . . when we found out, they were on fire. The hands had to be re-built, and after hours and hours of work, the torso is saved, but Im afriad to test string it, because it is fragile, and partily charcoal, coated in alyers and layers of gesso, and filled in with more clay to help keep it from falling apart...it looks so nice, I cant stand the idea of throwing it away. . . I am thinking I will do final sanding soon, and cast it before anythign else, so I can test string, to be certian he can stand. Ive included a pic! He says "hello". ^_^ I really want to be able to take more pictures, but I dont actaully have a camera, so I have to borrow it from freinds.^^; please enjoy! -Zel

Here are new pictures of doll- I took mesurments recently, And, hes is MSD size! Its actaully, by accindet but ist fortunate, ebause ti will be easy to buy him clothes, wigs, ect. Measurement: Head: 19 cm Height: 42 cm Feet: 6 cm I am thinking nameing him Noll, or Dark . . . So, he is strung! He can stand! (but the stringing was very hard on the paperclay. ) However, he has one kicky leg I must fix, and he needs loooots of sanding. . . now! Pics! Compare to the fisrt post! I think he has come a really long way! Ah! He looks angry with me. O_O; I hope you will tell me what you think . -Zel

In a "I'm going to kill you when you sleep for making me pose naked"-way. *snicker* I think it's totally amazing that you managed to make a doll this complicated even though you don't even have one yourself! Are you going to keep this one to yourself, or will you cast him and sell if there is any interest?
Did you change his eyes? He looks... crankier. Still adorable, but with a totally differnt personality.
I did, but only a tiny little bit. O_O a few millimeters of alterations to the eyelid itself, added the little...uhm, line things above the eyes, and manly eyebrow ridges!^^;; Its amseing waht a few millimeters here and there can do...
Hes for me, but Im still going to cast him, as the paperclay doesnt atke stringing well at at..... But, if sufficent intrest is shown, I would certainly consider selling.^.^

His name is offically Zee - And here is the desighn I came up with for the final version....of course, without the toast- that just seems to get into everything.^^;
...as I try to get the bottom of the poor things feet even. Does anyone know how to go about about joint-locking? Either way, I got a camrea for Christmas, so I no logner have to borrow one and fiddle with settings untill Im horribly tired and confused. On the other hand, I dont have a memory card for the camera yet, so I can only take one picture, upload it, delet it...over and over agian...^^;; Im amdly in love the the macro setting on my little purple cam! The stringing keeps brakeing the loop on the headcap, so for now, hes scissor-head. Try to ignore that. . . He STANDS! *triamphant music* But Im still trying to get his feet just *so* because right now, hes not so easy to balance. . . Ok, ack. His hands seem really big to me, but only in some of the pics. These, by the way, are handset #5! Also, his lower parts look funny when he sits. When he stands, he seem proportoinate, but sitting amkes his bum look teeny. Should I be concerned? And he _still_ needs_more_sanding. The sanding seems to be endless. I dream of sanding. And, is there anything I need to fix Im missing? I really ought tot ake pics of the backside, too . . . Next pics will be with the new less crappy wig, and mabie less wonky cheap eyes!(they eyes Im useing now are actaully a little differnt from eatch other, and no matter what I do, they allways look a bit off....) please tell me what you think!
I dunno, I think big hands suit him. ^__^ I really like how he looks: kind of laid back or... or... maybe a little disdainful? As for his bum -- maybe you could add a little to it and it won't look as small? o.O
ok, update for the new year, as I fix things like a furious hampster. First off, a *nice* wig and eyes! YAY! ^.^ Did some edits to both eyes, worked more on the ears, re-built parts of the nose, and shaved down the abck of the head for a properly fitting wig. I shall be posting the fixes to the body as soona s Im done re-sanding for the 97th time; And I shall be makeing yet another set of of hands and possibly feet. anybody got advise to amke nice looking fingernails? ^^ And thank you for bearing with me through my poor dolls *notsopretty* stages. I still hope to hear what people think of him, and Im vey open to (constructive) crit and ideas!
Well, here are some full views of the body. I need to finsh sanding the feet...but then, hes mostly done. I am serisouly considering having him cast, but at the same time, Im a little afriad to, moslty because I havent gotten much feedback on the forum. >< I dont really know if its just because *I* am unpopular(of course I would be...Im shy, so Im mostly just lurk around...), or if hes just not as nice as I think he is. I think Zee is very handsome so far. I had been following this thread a while back but then it got lost. I'm glad it resurfaced, you're doing a great job. Did I miss how tall he'll be?
