I find that zaolls are sort of an between size, half msd half sd. Their head size is the same as a lot of msd's, I prefer them because they are more humanly proportioned, no bobbled heads. A lot of Bimong heads are similar in face and head size as well as realism. You can always hybrid to get them a partner. Ringdoll are MUCH taller, but their heads are also smaller than a normal sd and look ok with zaolles (a little bigger but kind of how some men have bigger heads than some women)
thank you For now I am admiring how proportionate their bodies are and I wonder what mine is going to look like when wearing super high heels I have just purchased mine and it got stuck on the pst office over the weekend lol xD But, yeah, people have differing head sizes irl too, especially once they're a tall person standing next to a short one
I finally got her yay Now I know what she feels like to me - a more portable sd girl Thank you everyone for letting me know about Zaolls.
Hello there, I would love to know if any special thread or recensed list about Zaoll's hybridation on various bodies exist ? I'm looking for strong informations and pictures of comparison. Thank you !
I think supia is a common hybrid (the 60cm body). I’ve also seen a modded feeple60 (there was a project journal for it, but it took a fair bit of work!). I’ve also seen Fantasydoll (male and female) and dollmore eve/adam. I have mine on a doll chateau y-06, which is just such a pretty body, but the neck gap is substantial (a long wig makes it tolerable, and it’s in proportion with the body, being a smaller head.
Thank you for your answer ! I'm most interested to make a mal hybrid (I already have a Dollmore Adam body at home for another head and I not really like it). But as Zaoll is a popular and very used sculpt, I believed a kind of "database" or detailed list about hybridation exists for her ? I found a very helpful list as a Google document for hybridation concerning Dollclans heads for example, I'm looking for something like this...
You might check this thread: /threads/other-heads-on-zaoll-bodies.476566/ There are a lot of Zaoll posts in the reference/photo reference section.
lenacat26: So sweet Ramie! For a laugh: My Zaoll Rei as Lady Door & Gobloch's Hijikata as Illiaster (he kneels) Thank Gobloch for her Soom Dia and blessed non-shaking hand with the candlestick
Very nice! I have yet to try hot glue sueding! But one of my boys definitely needs it! What body is he on? I just bought a previously owned Zaoll Luv that I'm looking for a boy body for! Yours looks like a perfect fit!
You can also try the souldoll vito body. The matching with NS is great, and the proportions are good ! Just an old photo to show :
Hi @kpopandkimchi , my Neo is on a ResinSoul 60cm boy body. It's the one they use for their sculpt Gang. This one here I actually quite like the way he poses and everything. He's my fav to do things with purely because of this body to be honest. I have better posers in my crew but I still love playing around with him anyway. Can't wait to see what sueding and wiring does for him. Hope that helps and sorry for the delay in replying, I wasn't online here and forgot to log back in! Ooops Oh and another suggestion could possibly be the Immortality of Soul Class 50 body (or the 60 though I haven't tried either of my Zaoll heads on the 60 body yet.) But here's a quick pic of it on the 50 body I have. and a full body shot of it That's a White Skin head with a Normal skin body so they clearly don't match but I think the Normal Zaoll skin will be a kind of good match.
Thank you so much for responding! I really do quite like the ResinSoul 1/3 body! I saw another Zaoll Luv head on that body on IG! Maybe it was yours??? I'm really not sure what color my Zaoll head is supposed to be. It's been modded with facial scars and is a bit yellowed from age maybe? So I'm hoping some blushing can help with skintone matching!
Ah you're welcome! It's a pretty popular combo, I actually decided upon it because of two other people who have this combo and I fell in absolute love with it. So I have my Neo on there, but any other one definitely isn't mine. I am hoping to get both a Zaoll Ramie and Muse head and put them both on ResinSoul boy bodies if I ever get the chance though! Also yep blushing with either chalks or you could pay someone to do an airbrush resin matching to get them to match if you need to. That's how my Neo matches his body so well. He's airbrushed as he's a normal skin head originally so that's totally an option.
Oh good info!!! I hadn't thought of having a body airbrushed! I think I want to get the ResinSoul boy body too! It is definitely just sooo perfect! I also fell in love with the way it looked when I saw someone else on IG with that combo! Oh and I'm in love with Muse too! She might have to be my first girl someday! I'm just stuck on boys right now though and don't know if that will ever happen. Knowing me, I'd get her and turn her into a pretty boy too! :p
I would definitely suggest getting the head airbrushed to match the body rather than the other way around. It's easier and cheaper but also the colour would rub off on the body when you move it, but it's definitely possible to do the head brushing and even the body but I definitely wouldn't recommend the body one. The cool thing about the ResinSoul body is if you ask Sun, they will sand the abs off the body and produce a softer body for you also. They've done it with other bodies. But yeah when I get Muse and Ramie, they're both gonna be boys. Only one of my Zaolls is a girl, although I'd literally have an army of Zaoll boys and girls if I could. They just make such cute girls AND boys. I want them all! XD
Omg thanks for that tip about the airbrushing! I just wanted to keep the original faceup, because I actually found, or should I say she found me, the person that did it years ago! She recognized the head when I posted a photo on IG! And she was so surprised and happy to see the faceup held up so well over the years! Awww... I kinda like those skinny little abs! So I'll probably keep 'em! And I hear ya! I want them all too!!! lol
Ah well if he already has a faceup and you'd like to keep it, with ResinSoul there IS another option! Send them the headcap (you don't need to send the whole head) and they will produce a body for you in that colour so it matches! (They'll send the headcap back too, no worries.) OR there's always photoshop. I'm still learning but there are ways to make a head and body look like they match more with photoshop or other similar programs as well. I hope you're able to get your boy sorted soon, I would love to see him! XD
Ahhh... yes! Or even just those face filter apps might work? Hmmm... Would I be waiting for months if I send them the headcap? Not to say I'll probably be waiting months anyways! LOL Unless I can find a used body. I can't wait to have Marketplace access! lol
I made my Zaoll Luv Izzy a new wig! She looks great with her g/f Aria (Zaoll Muse). zaollpink by abhorant, on Flickr
Hi. It's in my near future plans to get a Zaoll Muse. Currently I've ordered some cute summer clothes for her from Etsy as I like to have everything ready for her that I need before doing my order. Never had a Zaoll before and am wondering what clothing size and shoes fit?
Oh Muse is beautiful! But I have my Zaoll on a male body, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to help with your girl's sizing.
This thread has been so quiet! My Season of Hope Luv arrived yesterday. She's based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables books. I love that her character is smiling, even if it's a very small smile. I have a problem with her boots and tights, though. The tights are fairly thick and make it impossible to put on her boots. Or, it could be the problem is with the boots being too small to begin with, because she can't get them on even barefoot. They're the basic Mallang boots and they appear to be a little too short for her feet. Luckily I have other Zaoll shoes that she can wear, as well as other dolls who can wear the boots.
@vermont chick I have always been tempted by that Zaoll! But I keep thinking I shouldn't get another Zaoll.
Thanks @kpopandkimchi ! I was thrilled with how beautiful her makeup is in person. Dollmore does an excellent job with faceups. When it comes to this Zaoll, @nancy_schroeder_ca, you should give in to temptation. The Anne of Green Gables girls look so different from the other Luvs, it's like having a whole other sculpt.
Hiiii, I'm gonna just park myself in here now. I'm waiting for a Muse head to go on a Supia Ballerina body, so I figured I'd get acquainted with this discussion now. These girls are so lovely. I had trouble deciding between Luv and Muse, but I finally went with Muse because teeth. I may do slight mods to the mouth and lip shape, but I do love a doll with teeth.
Hi @TatterPunk! Did you order a faceup, too? Or maybe not, if you plan to mod the mouth. I'll be interested to see how Muse looks on the Supia body.
I always do my own face ups so I ordered her blank.... and she's already shipping! Two business days... definitely refreshing after waiting for 10 dollshes.... I will definitely post photos of her once she's here... you may not be able to get me to stop lol.
She's HERE!! Wendy - Before by Tatterpunk, on Flickr For those who are curious about the hybrid (Zaoll Muse on Supiadoll 60cm Ballerina Body) - here is before any mods have taken place. The neck is a tiny bit wide for the faceplate to sit flush. I'll be sanding that down a little. Resin match isn't perfect. Both are White, but Supia white is slightly more of a pink toned white (only very slightly, still paper white) while Dollmore is a more yellow toned paper white. I am gonna plump up her lips next, so the next time you see her she'll be properly modded (and possibly painted too). Her name is to be Wendy, and she is a more or less undead ballerina.
Well this is a little belated, but oh my, she is darling! I don't usually go for girl sculpts, but I could make an exception in her case. Such a versatile sculpt - never would have pictured her as AoGG, but she's perfect!
@TatterPunk - That's a great combination! I wouldn't worry about the slight color difference. I suspect she'll eventually mellow out to a pretty even tone. Reds always go first, so the body will probably end up the same color as the head. Did you also get the ballerina feet? I look forward to seeing her all modded, painted, and dressed. @celga - Thanks! Luv really is versatile. Although she looks younger when made up as Anne, she could easily be aged a bit with a different wig and outfit. She hasn't tried anything else on yet, but I want to see her in the Breathtaker outfit my Song of the Night Luv is wearing in the pic below. She is portraying Anne's bestie, Diana Barry.
And she's done! I still have to make a proper wig for her, as this one is too big and thus positively Edwardian on this poor girl. . . but mods and faceup (and new eyes) are complete! BEHOLD, WENDY! Wendy by Tatterpunk, on Flickr @vermont chick Yeah, the colour match isn't a problem for me apparently. I just fix it with my airbrush if needed (which I did obviously). I nearly painted my entire hand white testing the airbrush flow today lol. Also your girls are SO CUTE. I am a HUGE Anne of Green Gables fan (specifically the Megan Follows version) and once I translated what they were trying to say in the descriptions of the Luv AoGG versions I totally squee'd. @kpopandkimchi Thank you so much! I'm super excited to start making her some dresses. She will wear so much floof. SO MUCH FLOOF.
@TatterPunk - Wow, that didn't take long. She's hardly recognizable as a Muse. I love how you plumped out her upper lip. I also like the wig; it doesn't look too big to me. Did the body come with jointed hands? They seem to be a perfect color match. I'd love to see the complete outfit... The Megan Follows version of Anne is my favorite, too. When the first AoGG doll came out I immediately recognized her as Anne but the description was a complete mystery. A couple of dolls in the series were less recognizable, especially the Alexia hybrid as Diana (although I'd love to have her outfit).
The body just had regular hands, I put Resinsoul SD Boy jointed hands on her. The white is just a shade more neutral white than the body, but it's not very noticeable unless you're looking for it - and very not noticeable in photos. I do need to wire them though. The mods and faceup pretty much took my whole day off. I started the lip sculpting the night before, but once I had the white base on I realized things were off so I had to redo some stuff. Then I had to wait for the milliput to cure (I sped it up a little) then all the painting and making the eyes. It was a lot of work. I also sueded the body and sanded a tiny bit on the neck.
Another shot of miss Wendy. I finally got this dress made for her. She will wear a lot of things like this, though I have no idea where I'm going to store all these floofy dresses 0__0. I'm waiting for some peach coloured silk to make her a peach and cream coloured dress. She's my one doll who wears floof and light colours it seems. Dancing Doll by Tatterpunk, on Flickr
@TatterPunk - Gorgeous dress! Let's hear it for floofy! Do you have any room in your clothes closet? I put floofy outfits in big plastic bags and clip them to skirt hangers. Half my closet is doll stuff.
