Right now I would probably buy Coral Reef's Beetle Fullset (Human Version), but that answer could change!

 

I would join in on the Pasha Pasha Mini pre order and get a White Bone Sanity.

 

I'd order Black Cherry Meihua as well as buy eyes, faceup and wig. If I have anything left, I would buy some doll patterns.

 

Find an experienced sculptor to make the bodies for the couple of characters I'm trying to finish, since I'm having a hard time finding ones I like for them xD

 

Get myself a Dim Minimee head, hopefully of Mana sama, Atsushi, or one of the GazettE or Dir En Grey boys!

 

DZ Ying Long! With my current finances I can't justify 900 dollar doll purchase but he's one of the most beautiful I've ever seen ;_;; He's my dream doll for when I can display him nicely.

I would buy a LLT Roderich head with papers and have him faced up far better than I can do.

I have one I am doing a hybrid with but unfortunately he came sans papers and so I can't really display him on here. I don't display dolls that I'm not very sure of authenticity on DOA. If I have any question I save it for elsewhere where it's less likely to cause offense.

I really prefer to have legit dolls with papers. It's not always possible. But in an ideal world I'd definitely want a totally verifiable head so I can display his photos anywhere.

That and I'd probably buy him, his lady, his kid some really snazzy clothes. Far better than I can afford now...

Probably do the same for a few of my minis too...

I also covet a mini Saint and might finally buy one...

 

That’s valid! I’ll never understand why they don’t give coa’s for allll parts of a doll, even if it’s just a body. Like I want the proof please LOL

Right now I would buy the next two dolls on my list 'Asleep Eidolon Lucas' & 'Xaga Doll Zoe' (60cm Boy) I'd probably still have to pay a bit more for shipping but I'd be fine with that. I've been saving so hopefully I can get them soon.

 

Even though I have several dolls on my wish list I don't mind saving up for them. If I was given $1000 I'd probably get new face-ups for my girls, as they're all 5+ years old, OR new outfits. It seems like everything is done in full-sets nowadays, running $200+ a piece (some of the dealer made sets are $600+!) so it wouldn't even go very far

 

I would definitely order some face-ups, bjd clothes and accessories.
Actually with current prices that 1000 would be spent pretty quickly. Yeah, I still sometimes don't understand the overpricing of bjd stuff.
But I would also think hard about finding Mori 9's Lyra or Angel by Joy doll.

It sounds lame maybe, but I would get the Y’Shtola Dollfie Dream. I didn’t get her both times she released, because I couldn’t justify spending that much on a doll…but I couldn’t pass up the twins release, so I found a way to make that work…now I am extra sad that I have missed Y’Shtola. If they do a third release for her, I will make it happen! …or once I get the twins paid off, I might be able to try and hunt her down on Mandarake or something…

Last time I posted in here was 3 years ago so it's time for an update!

If gifted $1000 for doll stuff, I'd get a BJD version of my D&D character-- Doll, face-up/ear mod, and clothes custom made. I say ear mod because I'm having a very hard time finding an elf that suits my criteria

 

A Luts KDF in tan + short, wavy black wig, purple eyes for Sumire, a variety of shoes - gothic lolita, Victorian boots... and maybe a few outfit sets from Volks...

I'd also splurge on high end BJD furniture to display my dolls, in opulent antique style to match their vibes. Of course, they would need flowers and teacups and a wardrobe to hold their fancy new outfits.

 

I'm splurging them on dorrie accessories (clothes, shoes, etc), especially the ancient asian variants in full set.

That $1000 is not enough for what you want to buy now. Check your current dolly family list and look at all the dolls you have acquired since then, still lust over your Grail doll list as that hasn't changed, check the DoA Marketplace in hopes that your Grail dolls are there, and stay away from the list of companies that sell dolls for less than $300. Don't branch out to other companies as that is a slippery slope of dolly fandom you are not ready for. You have no room for more. I repeat, you have no room for more. But I know you will buy more. And there's the holiday season for dolls coming up. Just pick a doll you haven't hanged out with in a while from the dolly room, sit with them and watch tv, and resist the temptation for more. You are good...for now...

I am not as familiar or knowledgeable on bjd’s as many people on here, i own one resinsoul and some dollfies, but if i had a lot of money i could spend on a doll then i’d probably get my hands on a soul doll, Not sure which one but definitely on of the msd girlies, i really adore the company faceups and i do see myself getting one with their faceup in the future but i can also see myself buying a blank and customising her when i’m better at drawing and painting bjd type faces, My second option would probably be a peak’s woods doll because i love their fantasy like faces and beautiful colouring

 

That very realistic 1/3 horse, space be damned. It probably would have to live on my bed. Luckily I don't even know who makes them. And let it stay like that.

 

I'd shell a favorite character of mine and really splurge on it so it's perfect! Go all out on their clothing, wig, eyes and send the head to a professional faceup artist.

 

Add to The Hoard tm or splurge on a really nice faceup for Rafeyah.

i had to look back and see what i'd written in this thread 7 years ago! as it turns out, later that year my husband gifted me that exact doll for my 40th birthday

if i were to answer the same question now...i don't even know if there is enough resin that i still want to use up $1K. i only need one more body to finish all the floating heads...that's like $300. i suppose if i happened to find a purple Soom Migma i'd spend the last $700 on her-- she's a kind of "theoretical grail" for me in that i put no effort into looking for one, or saving for one, nor would i consider my collection incomplete without one, but i've always thought she was super cool and in the abstract would love to have one. if not, i guess i'd splurge on all the doll shoes i usually cringe at the price on

 

Definitely something from Dream Valley, I've been obsessed with their monster boys lately! I'd love to get Dream Valley's Ehecatl and dye the human parts tan...But I've never dyed before and I'd hate to mess up such an expensive doll.

 

If we're including dolls that aren't necessarily currently available, a fullset Doll Chateau Ona is my grail. I'd also love to pick up Doll Chateau's Lafal, but Ona is higher priority for me.

 

If I had $1000 I would buy 11 pairs of crystal eyes I been was about to order, 1 or 2 new dolls depending on the price (casted vs 3d printed) (blank or have a face up), one or two new 4 to 5 inch wigs, and commission the clothing bjd artist I am using for 2 more outfits.

 

So I just got a hefty tax return. Ended up getting 300$ of just clothes/accessories, finished paying my last Layaway, and now trying to convince myself not to look at doll listings haha

 

Having just gotten that in a tax return, here’s what I bought with it (or put on my credit card that this will be paying off)

-big order of Leeke wigs that are currently $6-$7 to stock up
-Mier Forest Lucifer demon head (no eyes)
-4 sets of La Luna Angel wings
-first layaway payment on a Feeple60 Dragon Sircca
-first layaway payment on an Abidoll boy&girl body

 

Three bodies for my floating heads:
- The BonBon Galaxy Lime boy body that’s on sale, which I’m already planning to buy
- The Miracle Doll muscle girl 1/4 body in tan
- Another female 1/4 body, maybe DollZone.

Then I’d buy Gem of Doll Andrea, beast version and with a faceup.

And then with the rest I’d buy clothes and accessories for them

All the maintenance things I normally have terrible motivation to buy, like stands, facecovers etc.

Half would automatically go into various savings accounts I have (because I am sooo fiscally responsible ).
Then the other half would go toward an Aimerai Ling and some accessories.

 

I would get a soom io without hesitation (which is almost imposible as i can see ) and i would get him dark and goth clothes (i love dreaming)

 

If I were gifted $1k right now, the responsible decision would be to put it in savings/toward debt. However, if I was gifted $1k with the express purpose of putting it toward doll stuff, I would invest in faceups, eyes, and wigs. I'm ready to be done working on my existing crew and start working on my floating heads!
