Your first doll

Mine is Alphie, the doll in my little icon/picture thingy that accompanies my posts.

He's a Luts Delf Chiwoo I bought second hand from eBay because I wanted to see pictures of the actual doll I'd be getting rather than generic company photo's of a doll of the same sculpt.

He's stil with me, seventeen years later.

My first doll is a 5stardoll Tong Tong that I bought in 2012. She has such a big chubby face I just couldn’t resist. She’s been with me all this time and I still love her to bits.
I moved from the US to the UK and she ended up with some dirty spots on her face. As much as I love her default faceup I think it’s time she gets a new look. I’m terrified and excited at the same time.

Minifees are beautiful dolls but in my mind since they’re all over the place I don’t think I’ll ever get one. :/ I’ve seen some gorgeous faceups on them on the marketplace though.

 

I've been in the hobby a little over 14 years, oddly I count the years based on the age of my 4th BJD Thaddeus who came home on Halloween of 2008. As was in the hobby for a while before he came, but his got you date is the easiest to recall so makes a good counter.

So then my first dolls came a bit before Thad. Some time in late 2007 I order a Dollmore Bella and a Dollfie Dream head (I want to say 04), at about the same time when I got into the hobby. I think I got the head first, then Shokuji (my Bella) came and a little after that Dare my Dollfie Dream got her body. I forget fully the dates they came home on, another reason Thaddeus is my mile marker in the hobby vs them.

 

Angel of Dream Chen, but it was their first version of him. They've updated the sculpt and changed the body a few times since then. I still have him, he'll be 15 this summer!

My first doll was my Island Doll Ivy (same as in my icon, I really need to take more pictures of her!) I got her about ten years ago when I was a teen. I picked that sculpt half because the price was accessable to my no income self at the time, and I loved her sweet expression.

 

Luts KDF Mill bought in like...2012 I think? Sometimes I wish I had gotten an Ani or Hoodoo but.... I think he was a pretty good inbetween.

 

A dollsn Bada. She actually just arrived a few days ago! I got her fullset and she is just toooo cute!

My first doll was actually 2 dolls and a floating head. It was 2011 and I had just learned about BJDs a couple of months earlier. I had not intended to buy a doll at that point, but 5 Star Doll was having a Summer Event. I got 1/3 Tumnus, 1/6 Rex and a floating head of 1/3 Edmund. But I consider Tumnus (my Genesis) to be my first toll. He is still my favorite and most beloved doll after 11 years.

 

My first doll of this "kind" was a Volks Dollfie Dream I, hybrid with a CP VDES head sculpt. Both are close to nineteen years old now, and still with me to this day. My first full resin BJD was a SoulDoll Paris, who is also still with me and is around sixteen or seventeen years old now (I don't sell my stuff, so I own all the BJD I ever purchased plus a million OT toys and dolls I still purchase now and dolls from my childhood as well. I love to hoard collect toys!). (:

I do sel on dolls I don't bond with, but that still leaves A LOT that stay.

My first was a Bobobie Isabella that I got from DDE in 2018 and I still love her to bits~

Dollshe Hound from 2006-7 but I bought him in 2008. He's still with me and after all these years, no matter how much I think 'surely someone has taken his crown as my favourite', that just isn't the case. He's still number one in my heart, LOL

I'm super glad I ended getting him as my first doll honestly because when I first entered the scene I think it was in the middle of one of Dollshe's many discontinuations so it felt like he was a super hard to find sculpt at first so in a way I ended up buying my "grail" doll to begin with! I'm also glad I ignored a lot of the prevalent advice that still kind of exists to this day of buying a starter doll. I think that can be valid advice but I didn't really like it and think you shouldn't go cheaper/smaller than the doll you really, really want.

I'm very happy she was my first doll as she is a very pretty sculpt. At one point I wasn't sure if I really liked her sculpt but I finally found the perfect wig-outfit-eyes combo, so now I've fallen in love with her all over again! It's honestly amazing what a simple restyling can do.

 

My first "one" ended up being a pair of twins...

I bought a CP/Delf Shiwoo Special set from Luts, thinking that I'd just use the second, Dreaming head as an occasional alternate for the open-eyed one. And then I actually got them. And the Dreaming head's face-up looked nothing like the Standard's... There was no way they would ever have passed for being the same individual.

So, I hit the Marketplace here, bought a second Delf body for the Dreaming head and Harumatsu got his brother, Tien Jen. My first doll turned out to be two dolls, although that hadn't been my intent.

 

Mine was a MNF Shiwoo back when they were sold by Luts and Fairyland didn't exist yet

 

My first doll was a Doll Chateau Enoch fullset in WS. I'm still absolutely enamored with him, which is making it difficult to decide on my second doll since I want to be as enamored with them as I am with him

 

My first (and currently only doll until next week) was a Lingerie III Lisa Rubik from Dollmore. My roommate bought her for me, along with one of the other Lingerie III dolls for herself. Weirdly enough, her profile on their website is no longer functional in English, only on the Korean website!

 

My first doll is going be a Vine full set from Dream Valley, he should be arriving very soon! I am very excited!

 

Asleep Eidolon Daylight on a Xaga female body. Got her 2nd hand off Mercari and I love her.

 

My first resin doll was a Cerberus Project Lishe in white resin with one of the two available default face ups. I ordered her via a dealer who literally just had a one or two page website with the doll details and their email address. I paid via bank wire as that was the only way to pay when ordering internationally from luts/CP at that point.

 

My Luts KDF An was my first... I was still in college and not yet with a job back then, so it felt like it took forever to save up for him, but once I had him he was worth the wait!

 

The first doll I ever bought was Loongsouls twin flower bu-man, I have yet to receive her but I am waiting patiently!

 

Mine was Resinsoul Mei. She was a lower cost so great for a first doll and I still love her.

 

Mine was a 60cm Obitsu Gretel. I still have her, but she's rockin a Loongsoul body now. First resin kid though was a BBB Nissa

 

Mine was a DreamingDoll Little Elva Misora. I saved money for a couple of years and then I didn't bond with her and ended up selling her, but her body was pretty decent and stayed for a while longer.

 

My first was an Angel of Dream, Yuki. She has undergone a few style changes - and a name change - but I still have her and love her.

 

A secondhand Volks SDC Kurenai started it all for me in 2006. Still have her and love her to bits.

 

my first doll was a metis doll Alice and she is the doll that made me make the plunge into the hobby

 

Mine was MysticKids Evelyn! Though I don’t have her anymore she is still one of my favorite sculpts.

 

Mine was a Kids Sky Bobo (with the dreaming eyes.) She was a gift from a BJD collector at the absolute worst part of my life, and I will forever be grateful for her introducing this hobby to me. That doll will be with me always, even if all of my others go. She means so much to me.

 

My first doll was a Luts Honey Delf - Darae. I looked at all the doll sculpts, and wanted to start with a small doll size. She had the sweetest face.

 

Angel of Dream Tao Hua Dao. Johnny is slim and tall so I have a hard time getting him to stand, but he's still in my resin flock and I still love him.

 

My first is myou doll vieruodis !! The larger sizes intimidate me so I wanted a doll in a size I am more used to seeing.

 

Crobidoll E-line Boni. She's so pretty!

 

Mine was Angell Studio Victoria, full set fairy queen version back in 2015. She's still my first love and has held up so well.

I've bought a few more AS dolls and love them all. Great quality. I've bought from many other companies and have several dolls I certainly treasure above others, but Angell Studio has remained a favorite because of Victoria. It was like they pulled my dream doll right out of mind. She's also a great redress (see avatar).

 

Mine is a Heisejinyao Ziyulinglong (HZ) Boss. He still has his original company face up; he's 10 years old this year! He was love at first sight and I know I'll never be able to part with him

 

My first doll was a Oasis doll Linglan. Unfortunately had to sell her a few years ago. I really miss her. All of oasis dolls are so pretty. I don’t know if their in business anymore but if you’ve every get the opportunity to get one I definitely recommend!

 

My first doll was a True Love Xiaomo.

Mine was/is a Serendipity Noel and she still lives with me! ^_^

 

My first of the greater ABJD family was my Volks Dollfie Dream 2 Yukino. My first resin one was my Dollmore Model Doll Leah Cox. I still have them, and they're as beloved today as they were back when I got them

 

Dollstown Seola in 2014. I bought her from a friend and still adore her.

 

Mine was a Dollzone Mo, back in 2009. Now he has a lot of friends!

 

Mine was a Soom Monzo human. I sold him a couple of years later because he didn't fit with my doll plans.

 

The first doll I received was a Bobobie Sprite as a Christmas gift. I still have her, but she needs a dye bath eventually.
The first doll I actually bought myself was a DD Dynamite Towa.

 

Soom Ignim Giddess of Abundance. I love Egyptian style so much.

 

When I think of my first doll, my first SD is Nina from Fantasy Doll. But then with more thought I realized she wasn't the first!
~I guess over time and more collecting, I have a decided preference for the big kids!

My first came from the Goodwill store! I purchased three at once and they all arrived together.
((In a most unusual situation, they came with original boxes and COAs.))
The first box I opened was a gold card, first year of Fairyland, Littlefee Flora w/fullset. I was hooked!

 

My first doll I ordered was an in-stock, full set, Dollzone Ray (Frog Prince) from Denver Doll Emporium.
The first First doll I actually got was a Resinsoul Bei, also in stock from Denver Doll Emporium. The reason I did not
receive Dollzone Ray 1st is because he was an anniversary gift from my husband and I had ordered him a few months before our anniversary.

Bei is and always will be my favorite.
