See the side table on the right side of the picture? 'Tis not a table at all. XD I made it from cardboard and painted it a dark red color to make it look like cherry wood, then I made the table cloth. I bought the vase at Michael's for $1, but you can get them at Walmart for $.15 cheaper. :/

Eleanor just received her real camera in the mail tonight. I have a feeling she will be using it a lot! The camera is a working miniature from Japan, circa 1950's.

 

Um ^^;; well I don't have much to offer, but I recently bought instruments for my boys.

I bought both instruments at local stores so I'm not able to give you a name or anything (not being very helpful am I) >_<;;; You might be able to find them on Yahoo! Japan though.

I dug up most of these bottles at my grandad's house from where the families who lived there in Victorian times buried their rubbish. We found lots of pipes and gardening tools too.

The red fur wig I bought from DoA member for 1$ and the little teddybear for Sascha. The blue teddy was free gift cellphone strap that was added to some magazine for teens : 1.50$

 

See that stone thing in the background? Love having him sit on it. And it doesn't cost anything 'cause it's in our backyard!

There is nothing in Evie's room that was over $5 except her bed. Even the "room" was free. Most items I have found in the thrift shops. Her computer is a small radio I bought on ebay for 99 cents.

Okay I found this photo I had taken a while ago. I'm sure nothing was over $5 (except Macey).

 

Verchiel recently got a Nintendo DS ^^. A friend gave it to him, costs around $3 - $4 .

 

This is kind of dumb, but while destroying an expired credit card, I noticed the little logo in the corner is perfect MNF size:

....So now my dolls have their own credit card. I should probably be worried about that.

 

I've got a fridge-magnet that doubles as a video camera that I bought from Tokyuu Hands in Tokyo. The viewfinder flips open, there's a button you press to hear "smile! You're on candid camera!" and it's just the cutest thing ^^

 

Um it's a miniature replica of a Nintendo DS. It's a very detailed and accurate miniature version too. We took a look at it under a magnifiying glass and compared it with a real Nintendo DS. It's accurate down to the number of holes in the speakers and the company markings at the back.

I have many, many weird things in the house.


Rowan's favorite things: Rubber Chicken + Hash-Pipe.

The rubber chicken was a gift from Elysion_Gear. Wish I knew where she found it!
Also pictured: Jar of Red-Hots candies, cell-phone, Magic 8-Ball and sword rack.

Rowan also has a working faux-Zippo lighter.

The pipe, lighter, and his real working butterfly-knife (not shown) all started out as keychains from a junk-shop.


And an AK47 rifle.

I've had it for at least 20 years, dunno where it came from.
Also pictured: Butterfly knife, crystal ball, coolie hat, bottle of champagne, & several handguns.


AND a samurai sword.

The swords (it's a set of 2) are miniatures from a Chinatown gift-shop.


Nico has a tiny tarot deck-- the Tarot of the Gnomes, which is all in Italian.



But this is how Nico tells MOST of our futures: The Magic 8-Ball.

This was a gift from Dannyboy, whose shopping-secrets I never question.


Nico also has an ever-present martini glass and bottle of Stolichnaya vodka nearby. Here, he is also borrowing Rowan's baseball-bat, and talking to Nevermore the raven.

Nevermore was a table-decoration from some Halloween party.
The cocktail-glass came from god knows where.
The bat was a gift.
Stolichnaya really does come in little 1/3-scale bottles in certain stores.


And lastly.... Spike lives in a genie-bottle.

This isn't the most unusual thing around I'm sure but it is my newest prop and I'm so delighted with it... a pet bed that's made like a sofa! My boys have already been fighting on it but here they are on best behaviour cuddling my some of my Mum's toy dogs.

I'm not sure who is the prop in this picture. ^0^ But I couldn't resist posting this. For those in the southern portion of the United States, this was taken at a Whataburger in Lubbock, Texas. Apparently there is a Whataman mascot; he was out promoting a blood drive.

 

These aren't really doll sized at all, but I used the as pretty pillars and such in her room. And we just love using them in photos. To make things pretty.

I have a pretty unusual prop for my boys... but as this is an all ages forum I can't really post a picture of it. Let's just call it a 'fertility' replica I got from a local gem show, that's about scaled to my hound boy ^.^

My other wierd prop is a slate bar I made for Necross, He's a super soldier, and that happens to be his weapon of choice.

 

Vincent enjoying his hookah, which I made out of random junk at the thrift stores around town. His doll house still needs a lot of work to look victorian-ish.

I found some wonderful working fuzzy handcuffs at a certain store in the mall a week or so back.... It was the work of fifteen seconds to turn them from silly keychain to sexy doll accessory.
(NOTE: FUZZY HANDCUFFS ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS TYPE OF KINKY RESTRAINT ON THE MARKET. Usable only for dolls with no circulation. Want a better suggestion? I'm an educator.)

Ghost seems to enjoy them, even though he's morbidly shy of admitting so....

I have quite a few unusual props but this will always be my favourite: a SD sized pair of crocks. They were originally key chains, but there is actually a left and a right.

Some other things I have are: an SD sized Wii, a mini fish tank (with real water and magnetic fish), SD sized rubber duckies, a mini bottle of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup (its actually lip gloss), a real working SD sized lava lamp, and other things that I can't remember right at this moment.

 

Well, here's Shoji with the most unusal props he's had.

Here he is with a cookie, it's got a peanut butter cup in the center...but in his hands it looks like a mini pie. XD

A mini red Dragon. It's actually a finger puppet, but Draven carries that thing everywhere since I got it for him.

A Joker action figure along with an I voted sticker....XD

 

Alex and his pet Marimo. It's a little moss ball in a keychain.

I have a whole photostory about Alex and his mossball friend. I never posted it though. Alex and the Marimo are going to take over the world one day.

This is Mia with her most prized possession, her garu dolly and the star button on her beanie (actually a baby sock) is a scrapbooking item, and her cute necklace is actually a ring..
I have lots of other things, jack daniels bottle with booze in it, tiny toy cars, popcorn maker that actually turns and 'pops' tiny white corn beads, tea sets, sportsbag with water bottle, etc and if I get any good pics I'll post them too..

 

I have found tons of things, many of them already in my house, but a few out shopping. Some of them aren't super common.

An outdoor fireplace chiminea thing. Next time I'll put a candle or something in it so there'll be fire, but I was running out of daylight this time. I've had this forever, and didn't even notice it was a good size for them until I walked by it holding them for about the 4th time.


Here you can see all sorts of things. A real calendar, shelves of tiny Disney figures, a wicker chest, two laptops, books (more in the wicker chest), a pot of some sort (bottom right hand corner - I'm not sure what that thing is behind it but it looked cool so I got it at the dollar store), a Transformer (they have 2), some board games and puzzles in the black cabinet beside the shelves, an air freshener that looks like a lamp, a digital picture frame (that I still haven't put any pictures on) that looks like a small TV, and the requisite eraser food (I bought several packs).


And here's them with some more random stuff. Note the real bottle of Tabasco sauce that my dad gave them, a set of actual metal tools, super-tiny Star Wars (and Star Trek) figures, an "ice sculpture" of a pair of penguins to the far right, a Simpsons puzzle (on the chest behind them) and all sorts of random assorted stuff. I left out most of their eraser food, books and toys because it is just ridiculous how much stuff they have. I think the toys and action figures will be enjoyed more once I eventually get a littlefee and puki, because these two aren't really into them. I'm not sure I want to know what Riddick's planning with the pipe wrench and the bottle...


I just found out that SD memory cards can survive a trip through the washing machine , if you let them dry out completely before using them. Yay!

I think Kovac's snake is his best prop ever since it's actually a type of bracelet with scales and diamontee eyes. It's got a magnet under it's head (very useful) and its kind of hollow so all the scales move as it twists:

I don't really have many props yet, since I only recently got my boy. But he does seem to enjoy making friends with my vinyl toy collection (the few I have with me anyway- the rest are back home):

Perdita's Evenstar





Perdita loves her perfectly sized Pucca! Perdita is an SD, and Pucca is a plush approximately 4" tall. Pucca was found in the street, I cannot find a Garu in the same size but I really want one.

My strangest is probably the little gummy (as in it's squishy/sticky but not edible) heart from one of my Dad's conferences.



Connor's pocket knife, it actually flips out. I've a couple in SD size too.


And, the fishing rod my Dad made them XD

 

Ok, I'm utterly selfish and sugar-hooked. I have to say my best props ever were the numerous peeps, marshmallow rabbits, and chocolate rabbits I used for this shoot. (and there are more out of frame...) "Cleaning up" the set was most enjoyable!
