So I took some pictures, and they're blurry because it's pretty dim in my kitchen. BUT I can live with a little bit of blur. The majority of my pictures, though, came out YELLOW. Anyone have an explanation for this? and yet just before that, I took this one. O_o; It's not the angle, because there's another yellow one taken at the EXACT same angle just a second later. I was able to take out most of the yellow, but because of the color of the jacket, and, well, everything, that pretty much just makes it really bland, so i had to settle for also lowering the saturation. Anyone have a better way to fix it in photoshop, OR an explanation for why it happened, even though I took other pictures just fine seconds before? But I'm still looking for an explanation of why it happened at all.
well first off, what is your lighting source. If it is florecent or incandecent that would cause the yellow effect. Yet you mentioned before another picture was not so yellow. Assuming the pictures are not cropped. one differenence I see is how close you are. The light sensor might have adjusted it's self more to the doll's skin tone in the close up. Where in the previous one it adjusted to a broader area. Was there a window nearby where the pictures where taken? Do you have the problem most of the time? or in certain areas. What camera are you using? Yeah, when you have a picture so yellow it is really hard to adjust it to look right because certain color information is just not there to work with.
Digital images need to be colour corrected post capture. Kotori is absolutely right that you have a yellow cast because of the lighting source and the setting used on your camera. So, in camera settings MAY be able to be adjusted. Check that first. Then in Photoshop there are several options - the easiest and not quite as laughable as it once was years ago in PS is to use the "auto colour" feature and then the "auto levels" feature and see what you end up with. Another choice would be to manually enter colour values in your Curves and then apply those. I will return to post those values and that workflow. nikita wrote a brill article about adjusting for colour - I'll see if I can find a link or she may peek in here. What is your workflow - post capture - in PS now? Adjusting the saturation level is not the optimum choice.
They're not cropped, and I have two identical pictures where one is yellow. I tried adjusting the distance and everything. My lighting source is a flouresent light, and I've never had the problem before in any way when taking pictures in the kitchen. It's not by any windows. I'm using a Sanyo camera. I tried looking up the manual, but the Sanyo site doesn't have one for my model. Zagzagael: Curves didn't do much in this case, since that's the first thing I tried. Levels was the best I was able to do. I really don't like doing much of anything to photos in PS. I'm more of a graphic design person. I CAN theoretically recolor the whole picture myself, but I'd rather save myself the effort and just cut problems off before I even take the picture.
What version of PS do you use? You can't just apply Curves - you need to adjust with the curves dialog box. Your camera is compensating for the lighting - perhaps it was your settings?
I have CS2. I've never really messed with anything relating to curves before, so I'm kinda in the dark about that. I don't really mess with my camera's setting's much since I don't have the manual and can't find a pdf, but I know I have it set to compensate for flourescent lights. =/
What is the camera model number? Maybe we can find some info on it online and help you with the camera settings.
You're right, there isn't much info on your camera. I was able to find a specs on your camera tho: http://reviews.cnet.com/Sanyo_VPC_503_digital_camera/4507-6501_7-32227771.html?tag=nav Check and see what your white balance is set on. Also, was your camera set on Program or Automatic for your exposure mode?
I keep it set to automatic, though I turn the flash off. This camera has the brightest flash I've ever seen. It's kinda scary. (It washes me out *across the room*) and the white balance is on automatic. >_> Because for the longest time I couldn't remember which menu it was on. XD
