Resin Comparison Xagadoll Resin Comp & UV Resin Questions

    1. Hi all! I have a new head, a Souris Etoile Aster, that I'm trying to find a body for. I'm pretty interested in Xagadoll's 63cm boy body. I noticed they have some resin options I'm unfamiliar with though, like "UV" resin. I was hoping someone might be able to clarify what that means.

      Also curious to see if anyone knows what Xagadoll resin might match this head, which is comparable to Switch 2019 NS resin.

    2. I think by UV resin, they meant 'UV-resistant'. It's probably some sort of translation error where the 'resistant' part got lost.

      Anyway, UV-resistant resin is supposed to not yellow as quickly as normal resin. Never had a doll with this type of resin though, so not sure how true it is in reality.

    3. Yeah I figure that's probably the case too. Now that I look back at the listing it is "UV Cut" which is identical to MSC's UV Cut wording which means it's uv-resistant so :doh an oversight on my part. Just was a little weirded out by the different form of resin since I've heard horror stories that i can only half-remember about a different resin type that yellowed unbelievably quickly lol.

    4. Ah, yeah the French resin/atmospheric resin that's slightly translucent and has a more realistic appearance is definitely known to yellow faster. I bet that's the one you were thinking of.

      Just recently my 21cm Freya from Asleep Eidolon came and she's in the "white-peach anti-UV" resin. I can't speak to how well she will resist yellowing yet, but I can confirm it looks the same as regular resin. I wouldn't let the anti-UV deter you if the color is a match and I know AE and Xaga are sister companies so I expect that there resins are comparable. Hopefully that helps a little!

      Sadly, I'm not sure about matches to Switch resins. I LOVE the Switch sculpts but don't have one myself. (I wish they had 1/4 versions because I don't have room right now for more larger dolls, lol.)
