Hello! I am introducing my very first bjd sculpting adventure that is coming to fruition! Her name is Xadra and she is a 4 eyed alien sculpt! Right now I'm just content to work on the head and someday a body. I'm wanting a 4-6 armed body for her. She is an MSD sized head and fits very well on an Angel of Dream msd body so far so I think her neck is about 7-7.5 cm. She takes 10mm eyes in her top set, round or oval, and 12-14mm eyes, round or oval, in her bottom set. She CAN wear a 6-7 wig but a 7-8 with a silicone wig cap fits much better. These are the very first pictures I took (sorry about lighting and cell camera quality) and I will post newer ones below. I hadn't gotten around to posting her here recently so I'm a little behind in her photo journey!
Newer pics of her! I have changed her eyebrow line and her nose since these pics but this was phase 2! They always looks so different without face-ups! I've done a few in art programs on her and it's amazing what a difference it makes on her, she doens't look as terrified as she does in that last picture.
Annnd a few more progress pics... http://th04.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE...1t95p0qo4_1280_by_mutantpaperclip-d7yc2p5.jpg She finally got to get all dressed up and everything! Not really her style I don't think, but still, it's something!
She finally got EARS!!! They're not exactly even I know, but I'm working on it... ears are hard. Harder than getting evenish eyes.
She actually has her own body now too, so she isn't stealing one of my other dolls'. Here she is just a bit more dressed up.
I'm not too much into aliens, but I quie like her head, especially the lower part - big nose, cheeks, mouth. )
She is very cute. I love how you have given all her eyes some expression and shaped the head in harmony with it, rather than just adding more eyes.
Thank you, I went into this project with the intent of making a doll with 4 eyes that somehow still looked natural, or at least like they belonged there. It's nice to know I'm doing good on that.
So, Xadra has since been finished (even though I did not keep up with taking progress pictures) and is FINALLY ready to be cast. Just have to summon up the courage to contact the casting company and then again more courage to actually SEND HER AWAY IN THE MAIL OH GOD. This idea terrifies me .
