wwwMeowu Dolls

I haven't found a thread for these guys, so I'll start one!

A few months ago I saw a munchkin cat-taur sculpt available through mydollection on insta. I love munchies (one of my fur children is one) and I needed this child. mydollection was new, and I didn't know if they were a safe dealer/agent and didn't feel comfortable ordering through them. So I asked Christina at New Clover Singing if she could get the doll for me, and she very kindly did (cannot recommend Christina enough, she's been a joy to work with every time I've interacted with her, even with my incessant questions xD)!

I haven't been able to find any information on the company, wwwMeowu, in English beyond the original mydollection entry. I believe they're only in Chinese. So I haven't been able to hunt down any other sculpts they may have available, or any info on future releases. The worry I had was that the pictures on the listing were just of the 3D models of the doll, none of her actually cast so I had no idea how she would turn out, or what kind of quality she would be. I took a gamble, because a munchie-taur was worth it.

And boy, am I glad I did lol. She came in yesterday, and she's glorious.

Again, she's from the company wwwMeowu, and is their devil cat sculpt.



This preorder came with two faceplates (one neutral/happy and one angry face), the ears with horns, and little devil wings. As well as the bone/scorpion tail.



(that wig is not what she'll be sticking with, she shipped much faster than I was expecting so I was not prepared LOL. She's borrowing Leander's joke Spock wig) Also ignore the cat hair. As I said...cats...lol. Though it is oddly appropriate.

There are a few nitpicky things I only got to see after having her in my hands, but overall my impression is OUTSTANDING. She's got double joints in all her limbs, she poses well. She's got lots of heft, especially her cat torso (which is much chonkier than I expected, it's almost solid and it's ADORABLE). The resin feels soft and well made. There are lots of pretty details like the inside of her ears and the sculpting of her mouth - and TOE BEANS - that weren't obvious from the 3D model. I would definitely gladly order from wwwMeowu again.

The nit picks. The tips of her devil wings did break off during shipping, but that's an easy repair. You can see there's some sanding marks on the black resin, and there are also some seam lines on the black that need to be taken care of. I'm sending her out for faceups/body blushing/some mods so the person will be taking care of those. There's also some subtle marbling in the black, but as I understand it that's pretty common with the dark colors. I actually think it adds some variety to the black, and like it ^_^ (I'd probably be cranky if it was a human doll, but it looks like fur variation for the kitty which pleases me). Her human torso also seems to default to laying backwards. I propped her up last night, and so far she's staying in place no problems. So it's just an issue when moving her around. The person I'm sending her to is also going to be hot glue sueding her for me, so that should help with that. I also requested the kitty parts be black, but the ears came in the skintone which surprised me. That will be fixed by said person as well ^_^

I'm getting some big mods done on her as well as those minor fixes, as she wasn't exactly what I wanted and order customization wasn't an option. Her tail will be modded to be a regular cat tail (with the articulation, if at all possible), as well as the devil horns getting removed from the ears.

I just got her and she'll be shipped out almost immediately (and probably for quite some time with what's being done) so that saddens me. But I'm also excited to see her final form, I can't wait!!

Her name is Duan Duan (which means Short Short in Chinese).

 

I also wanted to show the COAs that came with her, cause they were really pretty!! She also shipped with a little acrylic standable charm which is SO FREAKING CUTE and looks like it's meant to be the artist's vision of what she looks like.
