Would you have a doll custom made?

ive been considering triyng to get someone to make a big (70cm minimum) BJD of a female tauren from world of warcraft... it would be reeeeally heavy >.<

 

its hardcore >.< failed a semester of college because of it- id lvoe to have a doll of my in-game char... i looooved my character lol

 

Oh now youve gone and given me an idea...I have been planning on making a bigger doll. >,>

 

I would consider it definitely.. I have a real love for artisan dolls, they just speak to me.

I would love big ear elves, size not important.. but I must admit the 70cm plus size is wonderful.. but I love them ALLL!!

Heh I was going to draw up some sketches today but I need more graph paper. Its really tempting to give it a try. Ive been thinking bout doing a 80cm or so doll and well tauren would be a great excuse lol.

 

no joke. if you made a female tauren bjd, id totally love you as long as you made one for me, of course. if you didnt make me one, i'd hate you forever :P lol i wonder who else would want a tauren female bjd? you might be able to sell them!

I could buy a custom doll if it wasn't that pricey. And I think it depends of the doll's mold and body if people would buy it. Nice mold=totally buyers.

i just doodled an idea for a tauren... she would never be able to stand, the resin body would be too heavy for the three-jointed legs to support.. but that doesnt bother me! what do you guys thinka bout a tauren female that cant stand?

 

oh id LOVE to make them...but its a big project and a pain in the ass....sculpying, making the casts...then the resin...then the drilling the cutting...the sanding....then the painting.....plus you gotta make it clothes and it would need eyes.....eyelashes...wigs...etc....id love to make my creations into BJD's like this boy I drew

That'd definitely be on the wish list for any day. Yet, I'd probably need a bunch of sketches and projects finished by the person to see. XD Total newbie, so I don't know much. Though...I want to give it a try myself.

btw Awesome images MistressJ though, I don't think your doll would be able to balance.

 

I'd be happy to make ball jointed pets for anyone who wants one. I already have a bird pet cast in resin. He sits on an SD sized doll shoulder ^^

 

I would LOVE a custom boy. I cant seem to find a msd boy that is masculine enough although Limho is close, he just has a boy next door look to him. I would die if I found one with a more muscular body and square jaw and enhanced bits ala dollshe boys!

I'd also love a to scale pit bull to look like mine

 

How much would you charge for each height of doll. I know the taller the doll the more materials it takes actually to make them. ^_^

 

One of these days, I'd like to try my hand and resin sculpting. I'm generally okay with the bodies available for BJDs, but perhaps creating your own custom heads would be a fulfilling and potentially lucrative hobby.

 

I'd totally get a doll custom made~ I've been thinking of a Mikio doll (guitarist I love ) or a Shiva (from final fantasy x!) doll or something xP

hmm...i don't really know to be honest. I have a bad habit of not counting cost of materials. I"ll get back to you on that in the future.

hahaha and yes, a cute rat XD. He'll be biggish tho, so that i can get all the joints worked in XD

 

the only joints i worry about is a torso joint, hind legs and head >.< im not sure if tny little rat arms are even possible >.< lololol but for scale, a good boy pet rat, without the tail, is about the length of my shoulder (now, he IS a big fat boy, not a little girl rat...) which reminds me, try to look at pics of rats... notice the males have big testicles... yes, i want big testicles if you can manage tee hee

 

*laughs* wow that'll be a tiny rat if i keep it to scale...too tiny to string limb joints anyway. Detail might be difficult to get into such a small mold...and the tail would be very fragile. Unless you want to compromise detail and delicatneness, would you be willing to have a bigger rat?

 

i'd prefer it to be as true-to-size as possble, but you are the arteest, so i dont want to hound and interfere with your work >.<
a bigger rat would be ok no more than 3 or 4 inches, though... after that, he will be an opossum! >.< and remebmer, goolies, big rat goolies

 

If i could afford it, I would definitly want a 19" tall Greebo in human form, and one in cat-form! There aren't any mature male minis, just boys out there, and that just doesn't do it for me, and I think Greebo would be just the thing! *grins* Wouldn't mind him in IRL either! *wink, wink, nod, nod* For those of you who don't know who this character is, here is a description and pics:

Honestly? Maybe..

I'm in kind of an odd situation here, because the boy of my two dolls (Deshemel, AR Cien) has an interesting in-character illness. He has lycanthropy, but because of the .. circumstances when he died, he's never changed. That's why he has such strange eyes. But I was pondering storyline, and having a sort of half-wolf head for him would be interesting (may need a tail then too?).

Honestly, seeing everyone manage their own dolls has made me want to try my own, but I've never been too good at clay, and drawing the human form still irritates me. So I've been pondering trying a ball-joint animal.
