I'm not that interested in these new girls, but are cute, wondering if someone will order and what they will do with them anyway!

Aiden wig is almost done, i need just to check that final details, but this time was hard!
Musume i've not modded the eyes, found already that 13mm eyeco fits perfectly on dante HOE, but thanks for the support

NUUU i'm such sad to read this..Withdoll has a layaway plan available, have you check this to be sure you cannot order her?

 

Has anyone sanded WD's colored resins, specifically the Real color? I'm debating modding Jace's foot/sanding his seams, but I'm not really sure what to expect... after sanding down a slightly yellowed doll earlier today and not really having the patience to even her out (her blushing will cover it anyway) I want to know what I might be in for.

Dulcimea, that's sad. I hope it can work out for you somehow! (The Layaway is really nice to have.)

 

I would think that sanding the realskin would be the same as sanding a tan doll. You'd have to sand the whole doll to keep the color uniform, and the overall shade might lighten a bit. When my Taren (realskin) arrives I'm curious enough myself that I might sand the inside of his headcap to see how it goes.

I think the new girls are super cute. :3 loving the grey skin tone with the reddish face up. I wont be getting them either, still waiting for my Cynthia to come home!

 

Tsukiyono, that's really what I've been thinking it'll probably be, myself. I'll have to go find those threads on sanding tan-skin for some help! If I do mod his foot, I'll know for sure, and if I can't fix it I can cover it with blushing and scars. (The character is missing a toe due to frostbite, so it's a small mod with minimal scarring, but enough that I should be able to cover it up if I can't make it look right.)

 

I've sanded a bit the feet of my UV grey Dante and i found that the color is just slightly lighter, said so i would not advocate to sand a colored resin body,

I got a new gray wig today so I tried it on Apate for fun. Her own wigs have such thick bangs that they always cover her eyebrows... this one looks a bit different on her. But she's definitely not stealing this one, she has enough wigs already, spoiled girl... -.-;

I really like the new Halloween limiteds, especially Emma. ^^ Somehow I wasn't too excited about her in the basic edition photos, but she looks so beautiful in gray skin with that white wig~ If they ever make an elf version of her, I may be in trouble, uh-oh... xD

 

Oh yay, new thread. I really loved the grey Emma, but strangely not the Ruby as much as in her basic version photos. I wish Withdoll made a new girl body so that I could buy more girls from them (but well, it's good that my wallet is safe right now).

I took some photos of my Prisca and Mizya's Moros the other day. I didn't have his weapons though, so they just stood there but...

 

Oh wow Yenna! They are both so lovely! I really like their uniforms. did you make them yourself?

 

I've check again the dante feet, not so bad overall..but again it shows a little difference with the original resin color, just saying

 

I just put in an order for Kyle, Ruby and Emma. I'm ridiculously excited over this.
I had been talking about buying them for ages and I'm so glad I have the money now. I have decided that Kyle and Emma are twins, when I told my fiance this he did the whole "they're dolls not people" face until I explained that I think they look alike. Now he calls them the twins and I couldn't be more smug.

EDIT: Can anyone tell me what size wigs I will need?

 

I've definitely noticed Kyle has a teeny head... I've got a 7-8 on Jace right now, and I'm thinking I may grab his chibi-version's 6-7 and try that on him instead.

 

I don't have a Kyle, so this might not be very useful (sorry!), but my Mai is wearing a 6-7 and it fits perfectly.

Yenna: omgosh! you are very talented! I am fangirling over your whole family. XD their look together is really amazing.

 

Thank you. They all needed to be similar so I made them that way. Well, in a perfect world they would've all been the same, either the male or female version, but our characters are so flashy that most of them refuse to wear the same thing as everyone else, so I had to make adjustments to them according to their personalities. Troublesome demons. :P Only Prisca and Moros have a sense of duty, lol, everyone else has needed adjustments.

Thank you. I only own the two middle girls, though (Delmia & Prisca), the rest belong to Mizya.

The weather was finally photo appropriate today, so I took Min Ki's (my Taren) very first official shoot. I still don't have the kind of wig I'd want for him but I haven't been able to find one, so this will have to do. I also need to make him a jacket, but I haven't yet decided what fabric to use.

Yenna, they still look phenomenal. And I love the clothes (and poses, and shoot in general) for Min Ki, too!

 

Ugh, the worst thing happened to me. Withdoll updated the status of my order to "Before Shipping", which I got really excited about... Then they released the two beautiful witches the very next day. I saw them and thought "Oh no, Emma is perfect for my character!"

SIGH. I really love Nana too, though, and I think she'll work just as well. Would it be too weird to order two dolls for the same character?

Yenna - I saw your photos of that boy in the gallery. I actually really like that wig on him. I think that auburn color goes really well with the green tones in his outfit. What sort of wig do you want for him?

Musume - True! I'm probably going to wait and see how I feel once I actually have my Nana in my hands first. The Emma head on the site doesn't seem to come in grey, though, but I could probably talk to them and see if they would sell me a grey head. We'll see, I guess!

Though that brings up a question for me. Has anyone played around with hybrid Withdolls? I really like the Withdoll bodies because they're more mature looking than most MSDs I've seen. But there are some heads from other companies I like. Or alternately, Withdoll heads on bodies from other companies?

EDIT: LOL! When I refreshed the page, I saw that $abbatha had just posted a hybrid minutes before me! What timing! He looks really cool. I love how glittery and starry his body looks.

 

Hadlais, Thank you. :3 His hair is supposed to be darker and the character has wavy hair. That wig is horrible without the hat really, which is why he's been wearing it for months now.
...And Withdoll will sell the parts in special colours during a skin color event -which they usually do a few times a year. You'll just have to be patient and wait for one (I'd suspect they'd have one around Christmas as the last one was in spring.)

About Kyle wig his head is pretty small so you can try 6/7 size for his as Lylyesp mentioned already!

Hadlais i can suggest you Mirodoll company, their msd body is a miniature of their 60 boy body, is single jointed at knees and has double jointed elbows, keep as note that Dante has a very large head so i guess that a new head could works fine with Mirodoll body, if you need more info just ask!

 

$abbatha - I think the large head sort of suits your character. XD He's an alien, right? Everyone knows the big-headed alien stereotype.

Oh, I did have a question for everyone: When you got your Withdolls, could they stand right out of the box or did you need to restring them? I want to prepare for when I get her, just in case she needs restringing.

 

Hadlais, Jace did stand right out of the box for me! I don't know if there'll be a difference between the male and female bodies and standing, though.

 

Hadlais well he's not an alien, he's the elder brother of Yves Qvinto, my Dante HOE grey UV, i caa assure you that the proportion are good, i need just to use a small neck adaptor but was not this big hassle

Both my withdoll were fine in terms of tension, i'm fine with a middle tension, too floppy doesn't hold the pose and too tight you will end to have the same exact result

The body i've used is from Mirodoll company, i'm happy about the proportions even if pose ability range well is not that great
Anyway the body came already in black resin, i had to paint the head from gray to black which turned out to be a very long job, i've used merely chalk pastels so it tooks some time to reach the final result, then i've painted head and body using the intereference powders. I'm pretty happy about him! Now he needs an ensemble!

$abbatha - Ah, sorry! I saw that you titled his photo "Black Venusian" so I thought he must be an alien from Venus or something. XD You did an amazing job matching his head and his body. He looks really cool. What kind of outfits are you thinking of for him?

He and Yves have both a very dark story, actually they got trapped into a weird place and tried to escape with every effort, also both have a girlfriend, but Laurent one is still in the cradle

And I'm pretty relieved to hear that Withdoll bodies can stand right out of the box. As a doll noob, I was a little worried about the process of restringing. For those of you who have restrung Withdolls before, is it easy? I've heard there are some companies that string their dolls in an unusual way.

 

Hadlais i don't have any blog, nor i'm on tumblr, but if you like i will post their story along with their piccies, Yves and Laurent both are part of huge backstory i've created almost two years ago, still several characters are missing, some are work in progress. But if you love to read something more i can post here some of their backstory

Withdoll now using the same tension of Soom new male supergem body, so you have two strings for the body and one for the arms, to be honest it's not hard to string, but finding the right tension could be challenging!

 

It's times like these that I wish that DoA had a roleplaying subforum or a story forum or something like that. Everyone has all these interesting, beautiful dolls and I'd love reading about their characters.

I'm in the middle of ordering a withdoll, and just have a question: when it comes to layaway, do I wait for them to send order confirmation, or do I just send them the money with the order number from the "order status" page?

 

Usually i sent to them a deposit, which is at least 30% of the total price of the order, directly to their paypal address and then i include in the message user name and order reference number, then i leave a message on their Q&A board

If you wish to have a layaway, WithDoll wouldn't send you any invoice you simply need to send a deposit directly to their paypal account, guess around $100 and than split the rest of the amount in 3 months.
