@moondream6 - Very cute! I love Strawberry, too. I wish WD would rerelease the early tinies. I wasn't collecting WD dolls when they first came out. Now I have four of the more recent ones, all in their little animal suits.
I haven't bought any of them since the Macaron kids. x_x Believe me, I wanted to, but... Life became really, really, really, really hard. It ended up being that there was a time where my dolls and their things were the only things I had left. So... I definitely couldn't buy them, although I loved so many of them. It seems to me there's been a few cases of re-releases just with a couple "modifications"... like, I notice small subtle differences between my Raspberry and my Strawberry, I just Know who Baby G is in my heart. There's a few modifications, but I do believe they have all the same sculptor, so the kids that are made all look similar in this or that way... I spent a long time thinking that one doll, I can't even remember his name anymore, was Vanilla with open eyes. I still probably would believe it if I went to look for him. I wanted to buy him in the brown tan color Lance is in so I would have an open-eyed Lance too, but no tiny has been out with that color since the second re-release of the Ice Cream Children so that was extra impossible... but times were literally too hard, I couldn't have imagined buying anything that wasn't food and bills.
WithDoll must have been listening to my dreams and wishes because they are re-releasing both the Macaron Fairies and the Ice Cream Children. Wish I could afford two from each series. I shouldn't spend the money at all, but it's looking like Macaron Pistachio wants to come home with me and bake macarons.
@vermont chick I believe @BJDivas is a dealer for withdoll and they offer 12 month layaways. I hope you're able to bring your desired dolls home!
Unfortunately for me, dolls bought on layaway are still money spent, no matter how long I drag out the payments. I'm waiting for Raccoon Dolls to release a new body this month. And, I told myself I'd strictly limit my doll purchases this year. (Silly promise, right?)
Yeah, I getcha! Just thought I'd suggest it in case it might make spending a bit easier. I saw on Raccoon's Instagram teasers of a new body, is that the one you're waiting for?
I haven't seen Raccoon's Instagram but if the teasers were for a slim female body, that's the one. I'd better go take a look. I went ahead and ordered Macaron Fairy Pistachio last night. He'll have the sweet green resin, faceup, outfit and macarons. WD isn't selling the wig in his photos but they did identify it, so I went to LeekeWorld and ordered that, too.
I went to look on the Withdoll website.. And I love little Shawn's head ^_^ Do any people here have some pictures of them? I am considering him for a possible hybrid.
I'm very surprised at how poseable withdolls tiniest are! I have a pooki and had a jax (sold the poor buggar, rip) and I absolutely love them Especially their little outfits? I have the space one. So cute
My Macaron Fairy Pistachio arrived yesterday. I left his shipping carton in my garage for a few hours before I put on latex gloves and opened it. Now I'm giving the inner box another 24 hours before I open that. The doll was packed for shipping back on the 23rd, so I hope it's safe to presume that any virus it came in contact with has died. Waiting to open him is killing me! Hoping to take photos tomorrow.
Here's Pistachio, the Little Pastry Chef. The Macaron Fairy comes into the bakery at night to bake the next day's pastries for the humans to enjoy. (Pastries and display case by American Girl.)
Thanks @aernath! He looked very green out of the box, but as soon as I got him dressed he looked paler. I'm thinking he'll have to invite my other tinies into the bakery some night to have some fun before the humans arrive.
I wasn't expecting withdoll to re-release their alpaca dolls so soon, nor was I expecting them to also offer a brown costume. Looks like I have a tiny alpaca coming home in several months.
One of the reasons I love the Withdoll tinies is their little animal suits. I love that they don't really need to wear clothes, but for some reason, my little girl wanted to wear clothes anyways. Am I the only one that puts clothes over the animal suit of their Withdoll tiny?
Thank you! I love how versatile she can be. Some days I'll just put a ribbon around her neck and other days she's in a full getup
@Enredadiza she's so cute in that little outfit! I especially love the little mushroom sticking out of her pocket!
It never occurred to me to put clothes on over the animal suits, although I don't see why not. My snowboard riding ermine Jax has a hat and vest. That's an adorable pic @Enredadiza.
Thank you! At the beginning I felt she didn't need clothes because she's supposed to be a fox, but then I though it would be cute and just went for it. The only bad thing is that all of her clothes have to be custom made (otherwise they don't fit) and they amount of fabric on the doll limits her poseability,
@Enredadiza - The animal costume already limits the poseability. After seeing yours, I'm tempted to make something for my little fox to wear. That outfit is stinking cute!
Thanks for the tip! You know, I'm just wondering if any MSD-size tee shirts would fit. They would be big enough to go on over all that fur and the length might work as a dress.
I have a question for all of you who have a Withdoll Tiny with an animal suit. How do you keep the suit from getting matted? Poppy's is getting pretty matted but I'm afraid of washing it and making it worse.
I'm not doing anything special. It never even occurred to me that the suits could get matted. I don't handle them a lot or brush them. Everyone has stayed in their animal suits since their arrival--I haven't taken the suits off for any reason. I probably have some dust on them; I'll have to take a look.
I take lost of pictures of her, so I take her everywhere with me. I try to handle her with care, but the suit is still getting matted.
It might be worthwhile to ask WithDoll what they recommend for keeping the suits fresh and clean. If nothing else, they need to be made aware that this can be a problem.
Well, I was planning on getting the Snow Fox or the Werewolf (even though I doubted they'd ever re-release the werewolves) in the future but then Withdoll released all their tiny bunnies all at once. How could I resist a bunny? Just placed an order for a white bunny Luke! I can't wait share pics of him when he gets here!
Rumpelteazer (Withdoll Jax) got new summer clothes: Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer by spih_2, on Flickr
Oh how cute, @spih! Jax always makes me smile and I love the name you've given him. Both outfits are darling. Did you make them?
I wouldn't have thought Blythe shoes would fit a WithDoll tiny. Doll sneakers always seem to run big but these aren't outlandishly oversized, just wide enough to help balance a one-legged pose.
How frequently does Wishdoll rerelease tiny fullsets? Unfortunately, I missed the recent rerelease of the macaron fairies Is there any chance they'll pop up again in the next year or two?
No idea if they have a regular release schedule, but they just rereleased the space kids, so it seems they do keep releasing old limited dolls after some time.
A scan of the notices in WD's News section will show you when each new release and rerelease occurred. The macaron fairies first came out in 2014. They had a rerelease in 2017 before coming back again in 2020. Some of the other sets have repeated in less time than that. You can always leave a question in their Q&A section. It could be they plan the rereleases around how much interest they get for any specific group. Doesn't hurt to ask.
My drama llama arrived and I am absolutely smitten! Getting on the Alpaca suit was a struggle and a half, but once it's on my little Jiffy is so chonky and soft that it was totally worth the fight! I love the extra hands even if I have no use for them (Jiffy's never taking off the suit or animal parts, lol) and the little animal feet are perfect. Pretty sure Jiffy is my absolute fave doll at the moment. I totally see why people end up with multiples of this size, perfect size for a horde! They'll probably end up with another Withdoll friend at some point!
Congrats @baxterbrat ! I love your little brown Jiffy. Please post him here, too, when you get a chance. All the animal suits are a struggle and a half to put on, but worth it in the end. Of course, it may mean that you never take the costume off again. I have four of the tiny animals--because they continue to want friends.
I’m new to this thread and I just wanted to ask if the slightly taller Withdoll tinies can be discussed here too? Like 30cm Parker? I have searched extensively but I can barely find any posts about the 27-30cm dolls at all, let alone a discussion thread for them. I was wondering if those dolls are considered a part of this thread as a catch-all for Withdoll tinies, or if they are excluded.
@nattherat - The taller tinies are a relatively new size for Withdoll, so I suspect there aren't a lot of them out there yet. I see no reason why they couldn't be discussed and shown here.
Thanks both! @vermont chick ah that explains it! I am a newcomer to Withdoll, I had never been interested until I saw Parker’s blank sculpt (It’s amazing how you can miss a doll if the original paint and styling don’t appeal so much), so I was really struggling to find out if there were any line names for the different sizes of doll, or really any information about them at all. I should have my blank Parker head shortly, picked him up second-hand!
WithDoll's line names are basically an alphabet soup. The smallest are 16cm BWD (I'm guessing this is Baby WithDoll), then 27cm KWD (Kid?) and 31cm LKWD (Larger Kid? Your guess is as good as mine). WithDoll's site has lots of photos of their basic doll bodies in active poses, which is great if you want to see what a particular size can do.
Bringing my Parker! No face-up yet, I finished dyeing/airbrushing him to match the DollZone body I hybrided him onto which was dyed 3/4 years ago. I also did some mods on him which are mostly invisible unless you know what you're looking for; one was moving the neckhole backwards, and the other was adding into one of his eyewells because it wasn't hollowed in the same way as another and altered the eye shape. He's a real cutie! He's called Charlie, and is in need of a wig of his very own rather than this borrowed one, as well as some new eyes!
Great job of color matching, @nattherat! Can't wait to see what you do in the way of a faceup. I really like these eyes on him. What color eyes will you replace them with? I'll bet he has an interesting backstory.
Thanks @vermont chick ! His eyes will be some kind of beige/gold I think. Sadly there is no backstory! I’m not really that kind of owner. This particular crew have a basic premise (a supernatural aristocratic family), but that is simply a theme that provides an excuse for frilly clothes and vampire stuff. He has a sister (and in fact stole her body, that doll should have a new body next month-ish) and an older brother, and they get to be werewolves so I can put cute wolf ears on them, but that is the entire extent of any story. The eyes will give me some trouble though, he is one of those dolls that needs low-domed eyes or it looks terrible, and I am an owner who wants glass eyes and glass eyes only. Finding a combo of the eyes I want plus them being low-dome will be a challenge!
I don't really do backstory either. Basic premise is usually all my dolls get. Mine get to be different characters on the rare occasions that I come up with a photostory. In that sense I guess they're all actors! I prefer glass eyes, too, and you're right--low domes in the right color will be a challenge. The light blue are really pretty, though.
My Parker with his face-up! I actually had to wipe him then redye him - the way the eyes sat in the eyewells annoyed me too much and I had to wipe him and carve and sand them so he can wear eyes properly. He should no longer be so dependent on getting low-domes now thankfully! Not really a complaint about the head, almost every doll head ever is fussy about compatible eyes, a sculptor can't account for every variation out there. These are not his final eyes or final wig. Eventually he will have black hair in a different style, and a more muted gold colour glass eyes. I do have some in mind but they kind of have to wait a bit for financial reasons. These are his final clothes though. He just completely swiped everything from another doll haha; her body, her clothes, her shoes, all his now.
Cool! You've created a unique Parker. I'm trying to picture him with black hair and not succeeding, so I look forward to seeing him in the new wig when you replace this one. I've had eye problems with another WithDoll sculpt. One of my mini girls has refused every pair of glass or resin eyes I've tried in her. The only eyes that fit are acrylic. I'm too chicken to try sanding eye wells so she's stuck with what fits, but it's super annoying.
With the recent rereleases I couldn't resist picking up a black cat butler Parker and once again, Withdoll has blown me away with the quality of their face up! I really liked this sculpt with the butler face up but couldn't afford one the first time they were released. But actually the wait worked out as Withdoll released their 30cm which I prefer as i'm not in to the cubby toddler body aesthetic. So I ordered her with the girl version of the 30cm in the new light rose colour. It's a really nice white, it's close to the white but not as stark and I feel like it won't yellow as much as the cream white. I also was curious about the new colour as I was wondering if it was designed to match Luts white. I had picked up a Luts honey centaur body and the Withdoll 30 hips look to be the right size to fit so hoping to get extra use from the sculpt. Bonus picture comparing Withdoll 30 with Luts honey 31 bodies- They are fairly similar, the Luts is more slender and a bit taller while the Withdoll has a longer body. They both pose really well as expected from both companies!
Has anyone seen the new persian cat sugar Withdoll just announced? So cute~ I was sooooo hoping Withdoll would release an animal head tiny to go with their animal suits. I’m considering ordering Sugar and using her head to replace the Luke head I have with the bunny suit. I think Sugar would make a cute bunny :3
Oh my! I love that angry cat! But I'm waiting for a space kid Pooky. I wonder if I should order another doll before Pooky arrives...
Definitely going to be ordering an Angry Cat! I’ve been eyeing Withdoll for quite some time and am finally going to be adding one to my crew. edited to add I ordered an Angry Cat in real resin on a boy body, blank, with animal parts. Now I finally have a Withdoll!
Finally had a chance to dress my new doll up. Turned out the black wig I got for a future doll that's in production suited this doll perfectly so think she'll be stealing it! The eyes were a pair of Glib ones that Withdoll sent with the doll and they work well which is cool. I did soften the corners of the mouth a little by putting a dab of pink paint over the black so the smile doesn't look too unnatural I'm really loving how much character the face has, it's one of those smiley faces that make you want to smile back Now I have to think up a name, something i'm apparently not that good at *side eyes the dolls I've had for years and not given names too yet*
My Space Kid Pooky arrived today. I'm trying to get his space suit on. It seems to be quite tight. Does anybody have a Space Kid? I think I have read above that the animal suits are hard to get on, so I suppose it is no wonder that the space suit is tight, too. I'll take a picture tomorrow if I can manage to get the space suit on him. And here he is! I had to swap his hands to the fist hand to get the space suit on. He's not going to change clothes for a while. His name is Sputnik but you may call him Pooky. (He does no like being called Spooky). Space Kid Pooky by spih_2, on Flickr
