I recently got a Lati Lea! I got her secondhand, and she has a lot of trouble posing. I have attempted to wire her using thin florist wire, but I don't know if there's a "proper" way to wire a tiny doll, and what wire works best for her size. Also, sueding! I have sueded three MSD sized dolls with few issues, I used Popsicle sticks to apply the hot glue. I have no clue how to go about doing this on a 1/8 sized doll, because the popsicle stick is too large to fit inside her joints. Is there a better way than using hot glue? Thanks!
I think you might be able to find some small sticks that might work! I think there are certain "large toothpicks" That care flatter rounded at one end? Maybe those will be small enough? If you look for flat toothpicks online you can find some Or maybe at your local coffee shop they sometimes have wooden stir sticks that may be a good size? I think starbucks has wooded stir sticks... Sorry but I dont know the exact size you will need, hope that helps though!
Thanks! I never thought of that, I will definitely be searching for some large toothpicks. I'm not a coffee drinker so I would have never thought of the stir sticks thanks for the help!
I used thin pipe cleaners to wire my 16 cm dolls. It's a bit thicker than floral wire, if I am picturing the right thing there.
I've used pipecleaners for years on my tinys. Works really well. The ones you can get from an actual pipe/tobacco store work better than the craft ones.
I've used liquitex matte medium or even just acrylic gloss inside the joints of teeny tinies. You have to give it a week to dry fully before you put the doll back together, but I feel like it helps
I have wired my Secretdoll picture doll but nothing this tiny. One day I am hoping for an 11 cm doll, and I am interested in how the wiring would go.
I don't think this is usually a good way to tighten a tiny doll... But I sueded an OT doll using clear coat nail polish. I took her apart, went around her joints once and left her to dry for a few hours. (Keep in mind this was on a vinyl Obitsu 11cm. I'm not sure how cleat coat would react to resin) As for spreading glue around - definitely use an orange stick. https://www.amazon.com/Orange-Cuticle-Pusher-Manicure-STL/dp/B000FKXSU4
I was wondering of there was any update on this?? I have a few Soom Petits that I would love to pose better.
