WIP Sleeping Super Sculpey Doll - New pics on Page 2 as of 2/2/06

Dec 9, 2005

1. See page 2 for updates on the sculpt! -------------------------------...img]http://babyshower.t35.com/doll7.jpg[/img]

2. Adorable! I think the reason she looks a little fetal is the way the sculpey looks, it looks a lot like pictures of the fuzz babies in the womb have- but that's not a /bad/ thing! I don't think she looks dead either, she's so adorable! I want to dress her in a little bear suit. XD

3. <XD EEeeeee~! Thank you! And yeah.
Bear suit... tee hee ... and so I have been inspired.

4. Compliments she is very sweet, good work! :D

5. So cute!! Awesome job!! :-D

6. She is looking good!

7. I really love her. Now I want to get started/continue the project I had a while ago with making meself another doll (the first one was a complete failure :P).

Just a tip: on a lot of sleeping dolls, I see that they have a weak line in the resin above the one marking the eye lid, to make it seem like it's folded. I think that would look really good on your girl as well.

Besides that, I just want to say "aaaaw! cute :D" and "I want one!"

8. Aaah... that's a good idea... I hadn't even thought about that! XD I'll ... think about it! *laughs*

9. I think she's adorable, and I think the dead-fetus look is just because of the sculpty color xD She's really cute! She looks so peaceful ~

10. she is gorgeous - I don't see the dead fetus thing at all (but boy can I hear my so say something like that) --- i think anything like that will go away with painting her face.

you've done a wonderful job sanding her and making her joints - congrats on a beautiful baby!!! (I especially love your third picture...so sweet)

11. awww, she's adorable! good work on the face and body both! i'm trying to make a cute little dolly too and the body is so hard to get right O_O

12. She is a lovely doll! You have done such a wonderful job on her that you are making my fingers itch to try making one of my own. ( the fetus comment sounds like something my husband would say! )
Your sculpting is very nicely done and I think when she is finished she will be adorable!

13. what a cute little baby :D her features are soo nicely sculpted well done

14. Wow, it does have that fetal color! :o But it's very cute and I think it looks a like a little *living* baby. I love it's little curled hands!

15. ^_^ Thanks for all the nice comments! I plan to finish her over the Christmas holiday... x_x as soon as I shake this cold! School and Christmas-time-illness has distracted me from my art and even my own Luts doll... >.< Christmas break will be so appreciated.

16. Awww, lookit her little face!! She looks like a baby Soony, almost . . . I think you've just set off poor Jessamine's biological clock ;)

(Hey, there's an idea -- I keep saying that I should start *breeding* BJDs, it'd certainly be cheaper than buying them . . . hee!)

She's really lovely, and I can't wait to see what you'll do with her :D

-- A (whose husband would say the same damn thing, I'm sure, just to hear me scream in outrage!)

17. She looks really good, I love her little fist hands :D
she definately looks asleep, not dead, dont worry XD

18. love her lips... i used super sculpey to make my sculpture but hv difficulties with the lips... urs is so delicate look and nicely done :-)

19. He is stunning!

20. ^_^ Thanks for all the nice comments! I should be finishing the lower torso and legs tonight or tomorrow.

21. absolutely adorable, the face is really cute as are those little hands! aside from that you did a really nice clean sculpt

great work! :)

22. this doll is sooo cute :D
can't wait to see new photos

23. She's so cute! Her tiny little hands and facial features *squee*

24. *melts and goes into diabetic shock from the cuteness* if you ever got her cast in resin i would most definitely buy one! she's absolutely adorable. ^.^

25. Awwww, thanks. I wish I could... but I lack the know-how and resources to cast the doll.

26. omg she is SO CUTE!!I love her hands~^^

27. donno what to say except cute~=D
and the colour is pretty similar to humahn skin， are you going to paint on it?

28. I want one! I want one! I want one!!
Please learn how to cast! It is not that hard you know!!
Sooo cute! She, he, it, the greatest ever! Love her sleeping state.
I'm in love.

29. she looks sooo adorable, and no, doesnt look like a fetus. ^^

30. Well, I worked on the sculpt some more! I've been unable to draw anything over the last few days x_x and instead vented my creative energy through sculpting!

She's so chubby... XD I still need to think of a name for her! And her leg poses soooooo well! I was heavily inspired by some of the Dollstown sculpts. ^_^

PS - Ignore the little white marks on the ribs. I was doing that to see if I wanted to sculpt ribs, since the marks are superficial. I've decided.. NO RIBS. Chubby baby!

31. she looks so cute! :D you're doing a really great job, all the joints look really good, and she has such cute poses.

32. Oh my... she's so cute :D I hope you finish her soon!

33. ^_^ Thank you! The sculpt is still so rough... I plan to refine/define it after I've got all the limbs sculpted and baked. Then I can work on reshaping and defining the knees/elbows/joints and making it more esthetically pleasing, not just functional.

34. ^_^ More pics added!

>_>;; Now... to make her joints as visually appealing as they are functional...

35. Good luck... Super sculpey is a b*tch to sand.

36. Really? I've sanded her face till its very smooth, and I haven't come across any problems =x How so?

37. WOW! She is SO cute! >_< You're amazing!~

38. One of the reasons doll makers prefer Super Sculpey is that it is soft and easy to sand.

Does anyone else think the doll looks a bit like Buddha?

39. ... Hey, you're right! Buddha the doll ^_^ She's absolutely delightful, and she moves so well ^_^ It's amazing - I am very much impressed :D

40. Actually looking at it again, it looks like one of the Hindu gods, I can't remember which one (I just remember the red spot on the forhead).

41. o 0o.. so.. cute! ~<3 I love her!

42. ^_^# Thank you!

She (Qutip) is presently on display at school, and as soon as I get her back I'll take many more photos of her!

In the meantime, here is how she looks on display:

43. Dead fetus...[laughs] I'm not sure why, but I find it funny someone would say that.
I find it as adorable, if not more, than an actual sleeping baby. I just want to pinch its chubby little buddha-like cheeks. ^.^ Wonderful job!
