Hi! I wanted to do a bjd since 2 years ago... dunno.
Here is my first try, a plasticine tiny head (6cm of tall) called Yolli
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h83/RunyaDim/nene/firsttinyheadyolli.jpg
After Yolli i wanted to do a 45cm bjd with body, i used super sculpey but i couldn't sand it very well and when i tryed to string her my left wrist got luxated :...( (I have very fragile joints because im ill of arthritis) so my parents told me to don't do dolls again :(
Here is Quira, the one who luxated my arm:
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h83/RunyaDim/nene/FailedQuirawithsculpey.jpg
But again i decided to try a big size, this time with more care to don't get hurted and decided to use Das clay so sanding would be more easy, i haven't tryed Ladoll but i think this is a little similar, maybe more hard to use but you can use water to soften it while you work ^^
This unfinished male head is done with Das, im still working on it, i don't like his eyes and need a lot to be done:
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h83/RunyaDim/nene/unfinishedmaleheadwithDas.jpg
And after recovery from a surgery in my right wrist i could keep doing this other head i left unfinished half year ago, this is called Nene
[IMG]
Still don't have ears but i'll add it with das clay later, i wish i could have some rasps to sand it faster but i only have sandpapers, im no good sanding sculpey, also i wish to make internal holes for imans to hold horns or cat ears... i'll see later if it works
I must fix the profile, the forehead need more volume... what do you think?

Thanks for reading this :)

2. I like NeNe alot! Her profile is adorable and she has one of the cutest noses i have seen in a long time :)

3. Aww thanks a lot Lotte Rotten!:fangirl: now i love her nose too ^^

4. cute nose shape! ^^ hope you can finish your doll with no complications this time! xD

tell me, are you planning to cast her on resin?

5. Thank you isa_cuomo ^^ yes, i want to cast her on resin, maybe Alumilite. I'll make a body for her too :)

6. Now she's looking odd with Das clay XD
I need to arrange the lips and the ears, i have problems doing them equally, and the cheeks too :sweat

Do you think the ears need to be more out?

7. Wai, someone else working with DAS XD
I really like Nene, she's so pretty!
I think the ears are just fine, unless you intend to pierce them for earrings ^^

8. xD DAS is good stuff!
Mine, and winfur's heads are made out of DAS... Mostly white, but the ears are this brownish-red...
Nene's ears are cute! She's getting an opened mouth look that I love! ^^

9. Nene is adorable, good work

10. winfur: Thank you! :O oh you are working with DAS too? post some pics :fangirl:
I arranged one ear, i really want to have the option to piercing it, do you think this is better?

isa_cuomo: Thanks! *went to see isa's doll* oh she is pretty! now i see the ears of das, i couldn't find das white so i used the terracota instead. I like an opened mouth too, but is somekind of difficult to do XD

Aisy: Aww thanks Aisy! ^^

So im working on the ears, i lifted it a little, also i wanted to try the liquid putty, my mom told me she looks like a clown now :sweat haha

11. Everyone's projects are so impressing that it can be tough returning to my own after looking... ;)

Your girl is really cute and I think her head shape and features seem very harmonic and symmetrical (her right eye is maybe a little higher set than the left?).
I'm in love with the nose - it's both cute and original.

12. thanks for what you said about aimee! xD

her body is almost ready. i don't have any pics yet, sorry...
you are working with gesso? xD i am! just coated aimee's head today! ^^
i guess it really works after all! ^^

nice place you have to work! *looking throught the window*
oh! nene's ears! xD i had the same problem! xP changed the ears for earings to fit! i really love the way she is turning! ^^

*my english fails me today, sorry about that*

13. zidora: Thanks for the kinds comments ^^ i'll wait till i open the head to see if the eyes can be arranged.
Your girl is so cute too! i envy you for already doing a complete doll XD i spend a whole year to do a head!

isa_cuomo: ah don't worry about the english XD im very bad with english verbs!
You are right! i liked so much geso, because is more sandable than liquid putty, im working with both.
Thats my room in the pic, but when i sand i need to go to another place :sweat i don't want to have dust to breath in my bed.

winfur: Melissa is pretty ^^ like her mouth and how she's painted, looks like a mask, will you post more pics? oh and is wonderful you work in the body togheter, will you cast it to have the same body?

2-8-2007

I have been busy and reading Harry Potter finale :D
Now i can at last work in my doll again, here are some pics, first i worked with das and layered with liquid putty, it dry fast but for my weak hands i guess is difficult to sand
[IMG]

So i layered Nene head with geso and sanded it again
[IMG]

Then sprayed it with Mr. surfecer 1000, i like how it turned but some sratches remain :(
[IMG]

I sprayed it again but it was so windy in my roof and Nene head fall from the table :o it was a shock!
Lucky me only the ear was damaged :sweat uff
[IMG]

I used geso again and sand it, now i sprayed again but i need to make it more smooth to erase the scratches and spray again.

Hope to end it soon :)

14. Awww she is looking SO CUTE!!! <3

15. She's looking really good, Runy. But you dropped your doll too!! Must be a curse or something that has to do with making your own doll.. was it easy to fix the ear?

I have a question, though. That mr. Base White, what is that?

I'm very interested to see her finished! This head is an improvement over your other heads (if you don't mind my saying).

16. She is looking really good! ^^
I'm looking foward to see her in resin!

Oh, Aimee's head is coated now... But I'm having a hard time tring to sand the mouth and nose... How did you do that? o.o

17. Wow I really like the shape of her nose and mouth.:)

18. Xyria: Thanks! ^^

Silk: Haha yeah, its a curse! XD it was easy to repair, just sinked a little.
Oh the Mr. base white is liquid putty, the same as Mr. white surfacer in spray. Im trying it now in the scratches over the layers i applyed with the spray and it works very well! just a little sand and a last spray and the scratches gone!
Oh no! i don't mind ^____^ thanks for comment and i think Nene head deserves to be finished XD have waited a long time.

isa_cuomo: Thanks! i have that problem too, i just have sandpapers and one 3m sponge fine, so i sanded it with the most fines of them and a exacto blade for the line of the mouth.
How is Aimee's body going? soon i'll start to do a body too ^^ but im fighting to cut the head cape now... i hate sculpey  is so hard to sand and cut.

Distractus: Thanks! ^o^

19. That texture looks awesome- the smoothness really brings out her features. I'm definately buying like 3 cans of Mr. White Surfacer for my own home-made doll now ;)

20. wow...its looking great..love her features ^^!

21. Finally a update! ^^

Im working on two bodys now, need to make that bodys for the neck hole of my Nene head. I want to make the torso in 2 or 3 joints, hip joint is tempting me.
Here are some pics of making...

Now the male body...

Waaa! :XD: ashamed for show penis...

Now together, he still don't have a head :sweat
[IMG]

Please tell me if anatomy is right, still don't start to sand, i think i need to slim their backs and... is his umm... you know, his anatomy allright?
I don't have a male bjd so i don't know how he will look.

22. Oh Wait, Das Clay Is Air Dry >< Nm!

23. You're making a male body too! xD
You're brave!

Your work is going on very good! =*

24. soshi: yeah ^^ sorry i didn't say it, by the way thanks for the advice about styrofoam, how did you knew it was dangerous to bake it?

isa_cuomo: Thanks! im getting tired of sanding XD but im happy to finally start to do bodys :D

25. Finally i could make a mold and a casted head, it have some bubbles in the top and on ears XD
[IMG]
I think with only 2 drops of dye the flesh tone would be ok but i did the double of resin too >__< so is so pale like cream color
[IMG]
Original and casted head.
I'll make a quick makeup but im starting to deslike her eyes :x

26. wow i like ! :D you're very talented ! i cant wait to see the final results ! :D

27. Wow, she came out really well and you have really done a good job on the surface - she looks so smooth.
Her face is very peaceful and serene and I like the eyes - they look a bit melancholy.
I think she will be very expressive with her faceup on :)

28. hello_sunshine: Thanks! I make up her now ^^

zidora: Oh she looks smooth because i almost used all the Mr White surfacer can on her head XD haha
Thanks for your comments, makes me feel better since i thought her eyes were bad done ^^u
How is going your girl?

29. She looks beautiful with faceup. And I like her skin color a lot.

She has a nice touch of melancholy. The pictures with horns are very cute - did you built magnets into her head?
I'm still very impressed with how even and harmonic you've made her. She's beautifully sculpted/ made.

And I'm looking forward to seeing the bodies you're making. They look brilliant so far. The girl body is very slender and elegant. Maybe the back is rounding too much seen from profile but apart from that it looks good.

My own project has been mostly about sanding for the past couple of months - not very interesting to make updates about ;) - but I'll soon be done gessoing and start making molds - yay!

30. wow! she looks even better with the face up!

31. Wow,she's beautiful!:D

32. Runy, your Nene is looking great. That tortilla press is a great idea to get the clay at an even thickness. Hummm, I wonder were I can buy one??

Buena suerte :3nodding:

33. zidora: Thanks a lot ^^ the skin color was accidental i wanted to make her more normal skin but i think this works also XD Yeah i carved a hole inside the head to move magnets in a straight line. Thanks for the advice about the body back :)
Yeah molds! T^T is comforting when we get to that phase.

SKooKuM Hime: Thanks!

taarna: Thank you!

Bruny: ¡Gracias! I used that press because i can't use a kitchen roller, i have fragile hands XD Here in Mexico is very common but i don't know if is selled in another countrys.

34. Oh, WOW Runy she's gorgeous!!

35. Oh wow! She's sooo pretty! I love her serene look. She looks great with those blue eyes.
The bodies are coming out really well. The girl is so nice and slender, and the boy has such nice muscle tone. If I'm interperting the picture correctly, his... anatomy >///< is very accurate. Maybe a little too much. I don't think most boy dolls come with...well...nuggets... I could be wrong though.

36. I love her sad-looking eyes and dainty little chin. Great work!

37. Dollist: Thanks a lot! specially coming from you *hug*

Miss_Pygmalion: Thanks! those are miniworld eyes. XD thanks for the advice on his anatomy, i really needed someone to tell me! thanks ^///^ think he needs a litle slimming ;)
nuggets... :whee:

fairygirl: thank you!

38. Good work Runy!!!
I can't tell how much I'm in love with Nene's profile! And the horns... Aw... Soooo cute! ^^
I'm in love with her!!!

39. she is really pretty, i just love her eyes!! :aheartbea

40. isa_cuomo: Thank you Isa! *hug*
Shiza: Thanks! at the first i didn't like them but now i like the eyes too ^^

41. I like the eyes A LOT!! Runy, you are an artist!! Now I want to buy a Nene head XD

42. Omg, so pretty! Great job, I'm impressed!

43. Her eyes are soo amazing <3

44. I have a question, how you will take out the foam from the inside of the clay body?

45. Xtina: Hi! You are here too! Thanks! hope next year i can open my store *__* and after i do the male and female bodys i'll try a 45 cm doll :)

Enpu: Thank you!

Sharonpixie: Oh i will use a exacto knife and this round rasp: http://www.dickblick.com/zz330/30/

46. She is very pretty!!

47. Thanks Sweetiemi!

48. Oh my !
Your dolls are so close to be the most cutest I`ve ever seen . I use paper clay too and I know how hard it can be to get it look beautiful . You have done a really good job . I especially like her little cute nose ! Aww !

If you`d sell them I`m pretty sure I`d buy one of Nene heads . And the body too , of course . It would be my first BJD . I`m waiting forward to see your dolls finished !
