it's my first time sculpting a doll head..and also first time sculpting something.. I'm from Singapore but my english exams always fail so pardon my bad english..^^; This head i'm sculpting now is call Juon and no..it's not a mnm of Juon..my friends they say it looks like that Juon kid and i didnt know what to name this sculpt so i just name it Juon.. XD the starting.. (sorry for the bad lightings, it was taken at 2am.. ToT)
After amendments and a bit of sanding... and this is a comparison with Kagari's yo-sd Suzuna.. ToT gonna do a drastic modification to my sculpt because i find it too ugly..>_< will update whenever i do changes to it.. any critics are welcome..i'm here to learn..
Awww, I find your Juon's giant eyes incredibly cute! I like his simple little lips line. Pretty good for first scuplt!
little_rika> XD thank you..but i think the next update might disappoint you cause i change his eyes and his lips..D8 hope you can stay tune to see the updates and give more comments or critics.. XD
After the drastic change i did.. the new look..8D I need to sand more and more to make it more smooth and less dent.. ;A; I've got a question to ask.. how do I reduce the gap width between my headcap? or does it really matters? cause I find the gap a little big and it looks kind of odd if i were to cast it in resin and there's a big gap there..o_o this gap i mean..
Woah this is coming along nicely. In the first few pictures i think that the lips doesnt have much of the lip shape. But now theres it has a lips. Good work there. Since its so small, must be hard to mould it. The head shape also seems better now. Maybe you can add a little nosebridge though.
yumi> thanks..XD yea man~ ju-on is cool~ lol hichy> thanks for your comments! ya..i got no idea why i always have to start things from the hardest..^^; but finally now it look like something.. oh..about the nose bridge thing, I'll try to improve on it.. : D
That gap? Are you using air-dry clay? I was told to place a sheet of cellophane between the cap and the head. I also did this after the fact (i had put magnets in my head...) and it worked out beautifully. :3 I definitely recommend this method. You do have a lot to sand if you're doing it after-the-fact but... it's worth it. He *does* look like the little boy Ju-on. Your friends are very sharp!
oh yes..>_< i am using air-dry clay~ Cellophane? What's that? I'll do research on that.. yea..i'm trying to search for the suitable magnets in my country.. XD i modified it again so don't know if he still looks like Ju-on..but i'm not changing the sculpt name..XP thanks for your help anyway!
