i did the bird limbs

here is a photo just the forearms done:

the hands are lying one up one down that's why they look so uneven <_<;

here are the finished hands, they are not as...um... impressive? as they should have been but there aren't meant for flying and they wore starting to get heavy with all the layers


ok, now i have to fix all the imperfections, bumps, un-symmetry, details nad i'm done~!
next time i post he will be baked, and maybe even coloured C:

now all i have left are the bird winged limbs :'D

so i worked on it some more i started the hands but i decided to have the ball joint as a different piece, i don't have a picture yet ^^;;;



here are the feet i fixed their shape a little since the photo, because i realized they wore a bit too square >_<

so i had an idea pop in to my head for a doll

he doesn't have a name yet, but the idea is that he is half human, his other half is the thing on the right

(sorry for the crap picture @_@)


so in conclusion he is supposed to be bony and bird like, with wide hips
i was sick of the colour of super sculpy and the moons it had left in it X.x so i mixed in 2 packets of beige and one vanilla sculpy, the vanilla really took over making the skin off white

what hes head looks like so far:


the teeth came as a surprise ^^;
i believe i did reduce the size of his lower lip after i took this photo

on to the body:
before i added joints on the torso


and after:
it was supposed to be a 3 part torso but i really liked the way it looked just like that <_< and there aren't details (like the ears and bits...) because i'm just going to crushing them as i work with the doll, so they will be added much later...


i might make the legs longer, but that's about it so far...

love it? hate it? please tell me what you think C: (before it's too late i work too fast for my own good)

 

*Sword of Light C: thank you! i'd love to see you give it a try, mine isn't really a bird, just supposed to give you a feel of one ^^;;;

lilpeacey i love his hips too i'l do that, thank you for pointing it out, or i would have missed it and baked it, and later be like 'what was i thinking? oh wait i wasn't...'

soshi thank you i usually make 3 part bodes but it looked too good in 2 pieces so i couldn't lift my hand to cut it xD

bambi_roo28 thank you for the suggestion, i think i might actually use it (even through he don't really have wings xD)

 

SimonPurple it's not just super sculpy, super sculpy is a nasty pink colour DX i mixed 2 beige and one vanilla sculpy III packets with it to make it more...'presentable' XD i just keep the extra in the empty super sculpy box

 

ZinkyuFox thank you, i'm going to sculpt the fathers and make him interchangeable forearms, human and bird ^^

ZinkyuFox i'm not patient enough to make super complicated joints for this doll xD but what i did should work fine C: (in theory anyway ^^; )

no it made total sense C: i did move them up a little before i baked them, through the size stayed small, you know birds have nearly invisible ears xD;;;;

i gave him a face up but it looks so girly D: i'll have to fix it a little *runs off to work on it*

 

Urushi-kitty he is very well on his way to being finished, but his wig might take a while i still have to die it blue from white

ragdoll your right the size wasn't stated my bad ^^;;; he is about 15 an half inches, no not this one, but i'm actually thinking of casting something

lilpeacey i need to finish his wig ack! i tried to make the face up less giry it was no good ;A;, but at least it's pretty?
i'm not gonna cast this one, but i'm seriously considering making a doll for casting

but on to the show:

so i baked him, here is a photo of all the parts on my handy dandy computer turned writing desk:


the colour turned out beautifully after baking!

here is a close up of the hand before i painted them: (i can't get over how well they turned out )


and now a close up of them painted, i would have used pastel for the blushing but the best sealer i have now is hair spray <_< :





:EDIT:removed this atrocity off his face! nothing a little brush cleaner couldn't handle. It looked so awful because i wasn't sure what i wanted to do with his face now i do
here is a photo of his girly face up, it looks more faded away and smoky in real life + the photo made it look like !@#$%, his eyebrows are uneven because his forehead is not symmetrical >_<


hopefully when i put the eyes in he will look better >.< i will see what i can do to make it less sloppy, otherwise i'll feel like i ruined it

here is a shot of his eyelashes , they are home made :'D

his wig is going to be a lovely shade of blue, i already died the fake fur and it's really fluffy and looks like an animal

so that's it for now, hope i didn't discourage anyone from looking here again xD;;;;;

soshi don't worry i'm fixing it! in fact i removed it all with a little brush cleaner and sanded his forehead a little so it's more symmetrical ^^;;; i fixed it while sculpting, but i must have crushed it again D:<

i did another face up and it makes a world of difference! i think so any way... ^^;
you shouldn't really, but i did it once on one of my sculpy dolls because it had tattoos and i really didn't want them coming off, and hey it works well for chalk pastel drawings, the tattoos didn't rub off yet (been a few months) but he sure is oily looking xD;;;;
yes he is still clay and will be staying that way >_< I'd hate to imagine trying to cat him it would be very hard, especially his torso @.@
he is made from a mix of super sculpy and sculpy III, a lot of people claim it unworkable but it works best from what i have tried so far (modeling paste, and normal clay)

from the reviews i've read don't use air dray clay as it tends to crack and stuff ruining all your work @_@! so apoxie sculpt is better ^^; i also hear good things from materials like paper clay
why can't you bake it :O ?
i'm glad you think so (i can't get over them ether xD;;; ), all also be posting picks of him with his under appreciated human arms, there mobility is amazing if i do say so my self

i re-strung him with his human forearms, the hands are very good at holding poses
(the top is from a Victorian dress i made, it was one of the few big enough clothes i had for him ^^; )

The Blue Kuma i'm glad you like him so much xD, they're tough despite what they look like x3 they are pretty thick and because they are layered they have a lot of support

he is pretty fun to play with, his human hands are actually more fun,but the bird ones are very nice to look at ;}

the wings aren't actuly that bad becouse i made the wrist a separete joint and it does wonders for flexability!
