I've been making a lot of doll scarves for my boy lately, so I thought I'd share my favorite, easiest pattern. This is a scarf using the mesh stitch and can be used for any size doll. My SD sized scarves take about 20-30 minutes Here are some photos of my scarves on my SD boy: This scarf is a basic stitch, so there are no precise numbers. Take the doll you are planning to make for and determine how thick you want it and where you want it to fall. I typically prefer mine to fall at the waist when wrapped. For reference: my boy is 60cm and these scarves around 65cm long and 6.35cm wide. In the first scarf, I used a size 2 fine yarn and 3.25mm hook. In the second scarf I used size 4 medium yarn and a 5mm hook and a smaller number of stitches and it worked great, so you can adjust based on how thick you want it (since it's a winter scarf, I like mine thick, but this small yarn was fun to play with because it shows of the stitches nicely). Row 1: make a chain with an odd number of stitches. I typically use 11 with my medium bulk yarn and did 21 with this fine yarn. You can adjust based on doll size and preferred style. Row 2: Single crochet across. Chain 2. Turn. Row 3: Skip first stitch, slip stitch in next stitch. Chain two, skip a stitch, slip stitch in next stitch. Repeat across row. Chain 2. Turn. Row 4-end: Slip stitch in the space above the skipped stitch. Chain two. Slip stitch into space. Repeat across row. Chain 2 Turn. I do this until it is a nice length and then weave in the ends. Stick a picture in the comments for me to see your scarves!
Your scarves and hat look incredible! I've been contemplating knitting a doll scarf as well. I'm just not sure how long it would take me to knit a 2ft scarf. I'm sure crochet is way quicker!
I really want to try. I'm rusty on crochet though so I'd have to look up some videos for the slip stitches. But I really might. Will you also share a pattern for the hat?
I will tonight! Thanks so much! It was a really quick scarf. I would like to try knitting too, but I’m so set in crochet that I haven’t yet. I have a friend who knits, and we promised one day we will teach each other the one we know
