Wearables Winter is coming! So knitting begins!

Sep 29, 2017

    1. Hi all!
Getting back to this hobby after a long break, and what better thing to do than knit some warm clothes for the dollies? :3
Don't yet have a lot of ideas so started out simple, with different crochet hats and socks and some shirts.
Any feedback or ideas for further projects? ^^ Doing these from head without patterns, so they may look a bit weird!

First ever doll socks, SD size! Doing another pair now, these turned out a notch too small for my boy ;)

A black sweater for a MSD boye. Ignore the odd string from one of the sleeves, was too eager to take a photo before properly finishing it. XD

Can't see that well, but used the thick trikoo canvas string usually used for mats and stuff to make a SD cap. XD A bit thick but fits, so it sits!

A White cap made from proper string, white and soft. :3 Don't really know how well that will sit on a wig, tho.

Aaand a sweater! Made for thinner doll to begin with, so a bit too stretched out. But it fit to him too! Any feedback on this one? I'm thinking about redoing the neck piece, does it look weird with the continued stretch knitting? :/

All feedback and new ideas welcome! ^^

    2. Wish I new how to knit socks.

    3. There are a lot of instructions in the interned (for humans), making them for dolls just means doing much less. :) It's really not that hard, me neither could knit them like a week ago, but then after making a couple of human socks I finally remembered the logic behind it and can now make them for dollies too. ^^
I'd link my instructions but the ones I used were in Finnish, so probably not that helpful. XD I bet there are in any language in the internet though. ^^

    4. A week ago? Wow! You could pm the instructions. Im finnish too. :XD: Maybe I'll figure it out with the right instructions.

    5. GASPS!! These are beautiful! I actually love that thick canvas-string cap! Very unique and "fashion forward" kinda vibe.

My mother knew how to knit. She taught me once, but somehow it didn't click with me (I'm more of a sewing person myself), so whenever I see people who can knit so excellently, I'm always very impressed! Thank you for sharing your creations. :) They all look spectacular.

Hope this works. I was told, I can do a pair of these in one hour. It only took me 6 hours to do this one sock. :XD: So one down, one to go. And I can tell you, this wasn't a relaxing thing to do. It nearly took blood, sweat and tears to finish this. And it definitely took many bad words and my boyfriend laughing at me. But it's done.

      One more try.

    7. I really like the white cap! Looks super warm!!

    8. They all look incredible, and without templates makes them that more impressive congrats!! The white sweater is something I would want to wear myself tbh:lol:; maybe try making that one with the fluffier string? But on a much simpler design....? Idk I have no knitting knowledge
      soo goood!!

    9. Wow nice job on that sock, it looks very nice! Well it's the first one that took that long, now you know what to do so next ones will be even faster! ^^
Congratulations on mastering the doll sock skill! \o/

    11. Actually I did make one from fluffier string before this one! XD also with simpler design, will see if I can get a picture working of it!

Maybe not, on my phone now... >_>" but will post it once I get my hands on a computer! XD

      Maybe a link works?
Kirasamah has shared 1 photo with you!

Edit: the thing on top is the white sweater from before in the making! Was using fluffy one as a size reference!

    14. Made some more! This time tried longer version while on a plane. Wanted to make over the knee socks, but didn't have doll with me so had to go by memory. Failed miserably. Turned out to be normal knee socks.

Size this time MSD, my boy lost his shorts so had to model from off-screen. XD

    15. Oh they look awesome :love

    16. Wow those are really neat! The knit is so even- what size of needles do you use?

    17. Hi! For the SD sized socks and sweaters I used 3-3.5(probably latter ones), for MSD socks I bought a 2.5mm. ^^ The hats were made with a crochet hook size 5 I think, that one really depends on the size of the yarn. Obviously made the giant yarn hat with the biggest hook I could find! XD
Thank you for your feedback, I'm really glad people here like them. :dance

    18. That’s so awesome!
My favorite is the socks, knitted socks are so cute:love

    19. I agree! I've seen a lot of knitted dresses and shirts, but not so many socks for some reason! Dunno why, they are cute and quick to make! ^^
