Winsor & Newton brush cleaner - in Europe?

I'm about to attempt an order from 'Stuff 4 Crafts' on Amazon.co.uk W&N@Amazon

From their postal charges, I get the impression it comes straight from the US anyway (or they're just profiteering scallywags!)

Winsor is very smelly I suggest rubbing alcohol and magic clean eraser. Rubbing alcohol is smelly too but it works faster! Hope that helps

 

I have decided to get mine onlione nexttime, a 32 oz is like 14.99 which is the same price i bought a 16 Oz at hobby lobby. I have a spillproof jar that i put my parts in to soak, and then let it sit for a little bit, and then use magic eraser or a toothbrush for the hard parts. The smell never bothers me because its low odor XD

 

Oh darn! That is cheap! I had a quick look at their site and found this:

I don't know if that effects this cleaner, (i doubt it) but for some reason the UK won't sell it as it doesn't comply with EU regulations for 'non toxic'.
Well, it looks like the cheaper option to try, so could someone from the UK (or Austria of course) post any outcomes of their purchase? I'd be interested to know too, for future reference

Oh. I did order from UK amazon last night (in the hopes that their bottle is already in the UK) but, even though it said it would be dispatched in 3 days, after I paid, the confirmation said the delivery estimate goes all the way up to 4th July. So my feeling is, even though it's a UK company, it'll come direct from the US.
I'll repost with my findings when it arrives.

Let us know when it arrives, and such - I'm after some but dont fancy paying more in postage than the actual cost of the item itself!

*Everyone else - *PLEASE* Only post EU Only sites with W&N - Dickblick and such, or brick&mortar stores are not *that* helpful as most times, they don't ship over here - And if they do, shipping costs are inflated, they don't mark down, and it just makes it not worth ordering from them at all !

 

Well, it arrived today, very quickly - just a week (in a shoebox-sized box for a 4oz bottle, lol!). But it seems to make no difference that it was a 'UK' purchase. It came from MI in America. I had a quick look at a sister site (listed on their receipt) called Stuff4Painting and their postage for the same item works out about the same as I paid through Amazon. But they do include a 5% 14 day discount code when you get it, and the bottle itself is currently cheaper than the Amazon listing. So you can save a few $ directly.

So now that I've been the guineapig, it's probably best to use dickblick.com (or some such) directly from America for a discounted larger size (although it seems you have to give a lot of information before they show postage costs - obviously I didn't complete the process there so you may need to ask someone else about the European postage)

Sorry the story it didn't end cheaply for you.
The only other suggestion would be to do a big group order in the marketplace to reduce the postage costs between a few people in Europe.

If anyone has any friends in the States, with a DickBlick/HobbyLobby close by, asking if they would be willing to go buy some and send it to us directly?
At least that way, they can underdeclare if they feel comfortable doing it, and theres less chance of custom fees :3
