Of course this had to happen to my most valuable doll, sigh. Does Volks provide spare parts for SD17 boys? I am afraid they will not sell me a new head, but maybe a hand? They did not answer my email regarding this accident so far. How long does it take Volks to answer emails usually? I'm so heartbroken to see him like this, and the pics where taken after the boiling water treatment to his nose and forehead, it was looking even more scaring before that. The pic is not very good, but he has some splatters above his eyebrow and one on his nose tip. And I do not want to loose his face up.
Thank you for your information, but I live in Europe and bought him from Volks international. And that is where I sent the email to, but maybe they are closed on Tuesdays as well?
There are a few people on DOA who do repairs, you might want to look in the aesthetics section to see if someone is willing to fix him for you. I'll stop by in a few minutes after looking. Edit: Here are a couple of modders who may be able to help; http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...se-customizing-and-more-SALE&highlight=repair http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...ge-Aesthetics-Extreme-Modder&highlight=repair
Well in the meantime it's easy to fix. As it's at the base, I would carefully drill the base and finger, insert a small piece of wire, then Superglue the two pieces together.
You can send broken parts back to Volks for replacement. They are quite swift to reply, but give them a day or two to account for time differences.
Hope you get him fixed soon! My doll got a stain on her hairline from a red wig and I felt depressed for a month.
If Volks international can't help you. You can try a Japanese shopping service. You would have to mail the broken pieces to service.
Thank you all for your advice. I just got email from Volks and they told me that they are sorry but they don't give exchange service to overseas customers. I am very upset about this lack of service from them. It makes buying a Volks doll a lot less attractive to me that they don't provide any help with such things. I guess my doll money goes to other companies in the future and my Volks dolls will have much less play time because now I'll freak out to damage them when handling them. And I had a parcel lost on shipping last year, so I will not trust the postal service with sending it via another person. Because now I know when it gets lost I will never get a replacement from Volks. I assume when it was lost on shipping to them they would have still replaced it, but maybe not. Anyway, for me, Volks sucks. Don't take overseas peoples money when you're not willing to work with them afterwards I'd say. I had contact with my local modder and she is willing to help with the finger at the local doll show in june. Hopefully my own repair did not do extra damage.....
