Who is your dream doll?

I soon have two of my dream dolls, an AngelHeim Zion Elf I got earlier this year, and a DreamofDoll Elf Ducan that I will get soon. I'm a sucker for elves, still looking around for a LumeDoll Saiph and a DreamofDoll DOC Sleeping Yen Elf, absolutely smitten with the two!

Oof, I have so many dream dolls. Right now, I think the ones I'm most obsessed with are a Volks Eveline and Iplehouse Lilly.

My two former dream dolls were Crobidoll Nameless Tei, and Iplehouse Bliss. I have both!!

I guess my absolutely reach dream doll i Crobidoll Red, but...I think there are only like, ten of those in the world. The likelihood of my ever getting one is lower than...really anything else.

 

I’m completely obsessed with the dolls by Gem of doll lately, specifically Hower 2. Supia’s sculpts as well.
Doll Chateau’s Bella has also been on my wishlist for ages.
There’s just so many gorgeous dolls out there, it’s so hard to choose!

 

My dream doll was first DIM Jullis and then SOOM Cheshire! I owned both, I decided to reshell Jullis and make him in the Cheshire sculpt! Right now my other grail doll I want is SOOM Shale!

 

Ah my Soom Asis would definitely be my dream doll if I didn't just fall in love with her the moment I saw her and then just bought her.
In fact I'd say many other Soom dolls too specially SDs like Amber, mostly they're too big/pricey/rare for me so I know I don't have many chances. Ohh Soom Ray & Luna, Dollzone Mann and Antu full sets. Ahh maybe more than any others, Fairyland Lucywen. I just love most fantasy dolls. They're dream dolls to me for sure.

Two grails:
MiracleDoll's Snake Demon - the 100cm version. If I could own one doll, it would be him. His sculpt is gorgeous, and so is his body. He's so regal! My first doll I ever bought for myself was an (off-topic, plastic) naga doll, and being able to have someone like her as a full-sized BJD would be incredible. My dream is to own him (tan, company face-up, with company wig and jewelry), or failing that, to see a greater variety of naga dolls across price points. But I imagine all the tail joints make them quite fiddly to sculpt and cast!

My first grail, however - the doll that actually got me interested in BJDs as a form of art and not just as "hey dolls are cool" - was DollZone's Sawareida. She's freaking gorgeous, but I think I'd be too scared to actually pose her - she looks more like for display than for handling!

 

My dream doll would be a resin enchanted doll, but since Marina only made a few that will never be in the budget

 

The ultimate dream for the last couple of years is definite Switch Seowo in Mocha Brown, I unfortunately do not own him and the only 2 dolls I've seen have been modded and not for sale. I'm desperately hoping for a re-release as some of their other sculpts have seen several, but I have emergency funds especially for him

 

My ultimate dream doll is Ringdoll's "K",
he was the one who got me into this hobby.
When I first saw his pictures it was total love at first sight.
He is on his way though (after two years of looking for him, I finally found him),
and I'm super excited~.

My grail would definitely be a Dollzone Moment doll. His sculpt is just so beatiful and elegant. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find him anywhere hopefully I'll get lucky and be able to scoop him up at some point

 

Any of the idealian Soom sculpts and the mocha brown skin sculpts from Switch I just fell in love with them every time I see them pop up on my feed and on the forums

 

Don't know a sculpt, but the concept is definately a far away grail:

Dark resin muscular female body that poses significantly well.

I just want to make my favorite MMO/OC character but it's neigh impossible.

 

I'm still waiting on my first doll. I ordered her a couple nights ago and I'm pretty excited since I thought she was super cute. I do love her already, but if I'm completely honest and money was no issue, I would have gotten the limited Rapunzel doll from Volks. There's a number of Ebay sellers with her still and, my god, she's adorable.

So, if money weren't a problem and you could have any doll you wanted, is there a dream doll any of you would not hesitate to own?

 

A CP/Luts Delf elf Shiwoo. He's an old sculpt with limited release and has not been available for over a decade now. But one pops up on the MP every once in a blue moon and always for an exorbitant amount of money. If I had that kind of money to blow I'd definitely pounce on even just his head (which usually goes for $700 easy), but alas. I must be content to admire from afar (and pray that Fairyland might re-release his sculpt as an event head someday...).

What would be really nice would be a YouplaDoll Zopa in tan, but 50+ cm to be a little bro to my SDs. The LLT Ballerino body is pretty nice too, I just don't have a head of want for it. And I admit, Dust of Dolls Roze Heln was super cute, but so expensive. Oh, and Konstantin from vitzly.putzly is pretty cool too, but he would fit with my other tiny at all. Basically, too many dolls, too little money (and space, and time). I just put them on the nice to have list and admire from afar.

 

Lately it seems I have a great need for very rare limited dolls. I'd do almost anything for a Mewie Fish Feldspathe or a Dear Mine Benjamin Le Petit Prince. Maybe one day?

He is a one off model many yearsssss ago at a Hong Kong doll event I think. There’s only one of him in this entire world and company is no longer in business so if money wasn’t an issue, I’d offer like whatever the owner is willing to sell him for lmao but the owner is probably rich and don’t need any money because this was an auction model. I can’t even remember how much the original owner bought him for, but it was probably like more than a couple thousand USD. Maybe even more than 10-20 grand USD... it was too long ago that I can’t even remember anymore

 

I'm in the hobby since I was 13. I've had 7 dolls so far, but now I have only one left, my grail doll I bought back in 2014 for more than a thousand usd.
It's just... I would love to have a lot of em, but I love my dolls fully stylized - or ready/prepared/characterized - what I should I even use? And I just can't devote enough time to perfect my dolls up. I never could. And I never became a proper faceup artist/doll photographer/community member for people in hobby to know me 'cause I, again, never could invest enough time and resources into the hobby.
Eeek, I'm turning into a saddening bore again, sorry!
There I have it, the doll of my dream, and that's enough for now. Alas, I continue to imagine new characters inside my head and to browse sites in order to make an other purchase... So I wouldn't be surprised if I find another Grail soon.

 

Soom Idealian Gluino, white skin, vampire version. When I envision my absolute dream doll, he is the only sculpt I've seen so far that perfectly matches everything I have in mind. Of course he's sold out :'(

 

For me it would be a Soom Petite Gem Julie. I missed her pre order and Soom hasn’t done a second one. The ones on the secondhand market have been well above my budget. But, if, I had unlimited funds...I could do a WTB thread and get one! My one hope is that Soom might do a re release.

 

Ah, I'm really bad at picking just one...honestly, it'd be the entire set of Zuzu Delf Journey to the West-based dolls Luts put out a while ago. It's one of my favorite stories ever (I already have a few dolls based on it) and I've always regretted missing it.

On the other hand, there's also this absolutely gorgeous Horus doll since I am also an Egyptian Mythology nerd - as much as I don't like big dolls, I might make an exception for him...

And then again, I am also a big Disney nerd and if/when Volks ends up putting out a Jasmine or Elsa bjd it would probably change to that...there's just too many things I want

Maybe you could try buying through the Dolly Planet Taobao? It looks like they have her in stock?

My dream doll is a Volks Full Choice System SDM with the F-01 face mold. I've wanted that doll for 5+ years. Now I might be falling for the F-63 face too.

 

Volks Okita...no idea how I'll EVER acquire him but I can dream.

Though I suppose I should look on the positive side...my dream doll was once Soom Never Ending Dream Beryl and I was lucky to get both her full body, and another head, so dreams do come true! ;w;

I don't really have grail dolls per se, and I can't think of any that I don't currently have that I'm pining for. The closest I ever did have to a grail—I have him. He'd be my Dollshe King Corey, and it was love at first sight. He's amongst the top favorites in my crew.

As for dream doll—this is going to be a very interesting answer to that question. I had a favorite OC of mine that I was having a terrible time finding the perfect shell for. I remember looking high and low, scouring every site imaginable in my search.

Since getting back into this hobby and discovering certain companies, I knew at some point that I'd love to get a Ringdoll body and one of Granado's manly boys. In an odd twist of fate, and a bit of fortuitous trading—I managed to get my hands on both. So, in essence—my dream doll was a Granado Galileo (which I only realized once I had him in hand,; he had only been available through last year's lucky bag anniversary event at the time I got him) on a Ringdoll RGM-3 body. Best of both worlds in one bjd.

The irony of it? It's kind of fitting the lyrics of this old Savage Garden song I adore—"I knew I loved you before I met you. I think I dreamed you into life." It's like I knew before I got him that he was going to be the perfect shell for my boy, like I'd dreamed up this combo before he even came into my life.

Sometimes you've just gotta love irony.

 

My grail that I feel like is obtainable is a Romantic Soom Dia. I think that the sculpt is beautiful and the sleepy eyes are just so dreamy! The grails I know will likely never be obtainable are Dream of Doll Elf Sleeping Pitts and Yen. They were the first dolls I ever saw back on a company website in 2007 when I first started to look at BJDs. I never got the chance to order them and am so sad that I never will be able to now.

 

I've always had such a complicated relationship with my dream dolls, haha. From starting the hobby with my absolute dream doll and then falling so rapidly out of love with my second long-time grail I went through such a roller-coaster experience with it all I just lost motivation with the hobby entirely, until I managed to stumble across Sio2's Ragdoll, and more recently, Boudi doll through DoA! They've got such darling sculpts they managed to entirely rekindle my passion for future projects! I also really want a centaur doll, which is almost funny considering I am absolutely terrified of horses. I've learned not to get too invested in any one sculpt, though! Never know when I'll find another that suits my vision even better!

I feel like I don't really have any dream doll. Each and every doll I have, have a special meaning to me. Maybe Dollmore Youth Eve Lilis Liv, she definitely could be close to a dream doll.

 

Lisa or Lucy from DragonFly Work by Ana Salvador. They are so cute, but also kind of out of my price range. She said she might do a preorder for they in January, and I’m trying to decide if I should stretch for her or not.

Volks announced a Kaito DD!

 

I've fallen in love with Bluefairy dolls. Hard. I don't really do well with SD sized dolls but I'd still say BF Diana with her stock face up is my dream doll.

 

I really desperately want a Bimong Narae 38cm fusion body and then I can customise her head. The body looks so flexible and is clearly an adult but is the perfect height for my main OC who I want in 1/4 scale but who is also supposed to be short so standard MSD size (42-45cm) is too tall. 4cm might not seem too much but it's enough to bother me.

 

I'm currently obsessed with Isabel by Iplehouse, and am trying to restrain myself from buying her.

But my current grail - a head sculpt that could be faced up to look like Brienne of Tarth. It needs to be SD size to go with Sandor and Beric.

 

After so many years in this hobby I have a nice collection of BJDs already, and I really thought I was pretty much done adding new ones…UNTIL I was innocently perusing the company news section here on DoA (I like to stay informed) and came across Myou’s latest release, Macarena, in her fullset. I literally gasped out loud! I’ve long admired the sweet and lovely faces of Myou’s dolls and always thought I would love to have one. But I never had a character that would quite fit their aesthetic, so they became a company whose dolls I just admired from afar. But I’ve long been fascinated by religious iconography for most of my life, and this girl was absolutely perfect for that aesthetic! A character that is a rosary keeper immediately sprang full blown in my mind, and I quickly contacted a dealer to set up a layaway for her limited fullset. She was definitely one of those dolls I just knew I would move heaven and earth to bring home (after so many years in the hobby, I’ve learned to just go for it or be forever sorry afterwards.) So yeah, definitely a dream doll for me!

 

Macarena is SO beautiful, I was stunned when I saw her!

Currently I'm pining for a Harucasting Joa in dark tan, and a DoDollsDream Teacup Maggie... I just love how expressive Joa's sculpt is, and the cute little bodies of the Teacup dolls are beyond charming! Both of them are preorder dolls and I'm just praying that Joa doesn't end up discontinued before I manage to afford her (there's no indication she's being discontinued, but the first time I saw a Harucasting doll was when another sculpt was discontinued so I live in fear lol).

There are a few dolls on my list right now that I already have plans for, but if I had to mention my TOP, seemingly unachievable dream doll, it would be a Doll Chateau Cecile at the moment. I was stunned when I saw how beautifully bizarre she looked, with her thorny neck and her elongated limbs and torso.

Dressing her might be a NIGHTMARE, but gosh, she's so eerily beautiful!

 

• At first, my dream doll was MiracleDoll Lisa, but now my dream dolls are a fashion bjd by Chimera Dolls, Dollzone Black Cat, and Doll Chateau Ona. There are a lot of dream dolls I have, and hopefully I'll be able to collect them all in the future.

 

I been wanting to buy dollsoom idealian Narmer sleeping head and open eyes but they don't have him anymore and also he's very pricey. I hope they will have more of him in the future. I'm also interested in getting a beautiful girl from Angell Studio. I saw people opening box on YouTube and they're gorgeous.

Mine is Maskcat Yaël fullset. Up till now, I have yet to find another doll who tugs so much at my heartstrings. Thankfully, it's the first doll I bought.

I've been pining for Doll Chateau's Queena fullset since I first laid eyes on her a few years ago but I keep talking myself out of buying her because I'm scared when I see her in person she won't meet my expectations (even though I have a Doll Chateau doll and she's wonderful).
