Which companies or dealers offer Layaway?

I saw on Iple house they offer layaway, I am still waiting on a response to how it works though...

I think if more companies offered this I could feel more at ease about owning BJD's. They are so tough on the budget!

After waiting for some type of response with IpleHouse, I cancelled my order and ordered from Soom...thanks ZombChan for the helpful link, it made it very clear and easy for me to place my order.

 

I would like details on how Iplehouse's layaway works too? Does anyone know?

 

I heard back from Iple house, they said all you have to do is go to paypal and put down 1/3 when you place the order and they will work with you on getting the payments made! Now that I know maybe when more loot flows through I can order an Aaron!

 

I too heard back from Iplehouse and for anyone else who wanted to know, you pay 1/3 upfront and pay the rest within 3 months, like with soom. so if you bought on the first of jan, pay 1/3 then, then 1/3 on feb 1 and 1/3 on march 1st, and the doll is all yours. Hope this helps someone, I know it helped me. They were very good at answering all the questions I had, very clear english!

 

Does anyone know how long Dolkot will do a layaway? (In their Q&A section there's a recent unlocked question about layaways and it appears they do take them, but it doesn't say what the limits and terms are...)

 

Dollndoll do layaway recently.

 

For some companies, I think its seasonal - I know for us it is!
We're Featherfall ( http://www.featherfall.ca ) - normally, we only have a few layaway spots per month - so we offer them when they're available, then close layaway when they are taken. For instance, this month we're full up, but it'll likely be free again for March. ^^;;

Your best bet is probably to find the doll you're in love with and contact either the company directly or their agents ... and just ask! Can't hurt and many times you'll find a little more flexibility by taking it down to the case by case basis. Good luck!

The only ones I know of are Denverdoll, DollsandFriends and I think Dollndoll, but isn't Dollndoll's layaway only for the dolls they make, and not all of the ones they sell?

But really, what other places will offer layaway?

I love Dolkot's dolls! I know that I used to see them on DollnDoll, but now they aren't there anymore? Does anyone have the link and know for sure as to whether or not they offer layaway?

Actually http://dollsandfriends.com/ has severa; different dolls availble for sale from different companies so you are not jsut limited to one. They have a layaway plan and she is super nice to boot.

Also, http://www.featherfall.ca carries a bunch of brands and has a maximum 2 month layaway, I believe... Plus they are extremely nice people. I just spent an afternoon at the owner's house last week, chatting with other bjd fanatics, eating vegetables and playing with her kid. *L*

Dolls & Friends has a super long layaway period...6 whole months. Thats almost unprecedented. So if layaway length is your concern, talk to them. Just make sure you dont default... layaway places will penalize you and/or limit your capacity to purchase anything further from them.

 

I know SOOM does layaway. If your order is over 500US, I know it's four months layaway.

Most sites have either a FAQ or a Q&A board. Just search for "layaway" on the board you're looking to purchase from. Most will say right away whether you can or cannot.

 

Someone made a list of a ton of companies and they have marked which ones take layaway.

 

From that list Ther are a total of five I think inlcuding the link to Dolls and friends which I gave you.

Dollinian is a Defunct company now. This was an invdividual who made some dolls and sold them to a small retailer here on doa and then sold a few on ebay but she closed down.

Luts I heard (even though there is no astrick there) you might want to email them and ask. I heard that they may be willing to do a 2 month layaway but email first.

So there are alot of options.

Yes I love that Doll and friends has a 6 month layaway! That is very generous of her.

Does anyone know if dream of doll do a layaway plan? When I brought for them three years ago they didn't, but I dunno if its changed or not since then. Its probably quicket to ask here then it is to ask DoD.

Can anyone recommend any good sites that offer a layaway payment plan for their dolls? I've finally cracked and am in the market for my first doll. However I have a slight problem with that whole blowing $800 at once which I'm sure a lot of people can relate. The only website I really know is DOD and I would like to see what else is out there... Opinions?

 

www.junkyspot.com takes layaways you could always try there and they will ship pretty much anywhere.

 

www.iplehouse.net has a very nice layaway plan for their dolls and ships everywhere

I know that DIM will do it. But you have to place 50% down and the rest within 3 month. You just have to email them about it. I'm finally breaking down to buy a my first BJD which is a Minimee and it's body *victory dance*
