PerlaNemesis, you're welcome! Yes, it's Normal Pink, and not the "imported" variety (which is the translucent/"French"/environmental type, and not a match to FL's resin type).
Does anyone have any knowledge on what other tans match FL tan? I might be able to snag a tan head soon but I have no prior experience with tan dolls at all so I'm not sure if I could hybrid it.
MNF on Doll chateau anything? Or on Dollpamm? I've seen a LTF on dollpamm so I'm thinking perhaps MNF might be too big... but putting this out there anyway~ I'm the biggest sucker for MNF heads but *awaits to be attacked with pillows* I really don't like the bodies and I need lots of weird size minis as clothing models @ ^ @
I don't have a spare neck piece to do it properly, Aves, but I can attempt holding together a MNF head on a DP body later if you're interested in seeing that!
I did this tan comparison not too long ago: Sorry they look like crap - I literally pulled them out of my bag and took the picture ^^'''' Anyway: Soom Afi blushed to match a Dikadoll body (Soom hands also blushed) - his head cap is the actual color (It had tape on it :P) RS Song in Dark Chocolate MNF Celine in Tan from I think 2014? My roommate just got a brand new Mio from FL and he's wearing her hands atm - they're identical. No color diff at all so they've been decently consistent for at least that long. RS Song in coffee from 2009 Latidoll Yellow Monster House Laches And down in front and off topic for DOA but still relevant for this picture: Luts Fabric Delf in RSB - same color as my RSB Delf Claus who was too big for this photo. Looking at the second photo FL and RS are close, however being from 2009 my Song is a completely different color from the "coffee" they use now, which is paler and greyer. So finding a match isn't going to be easy....I haven't seen one that looks like him since the time I got him. Luts might work with some heavy blushing, but it's definitely a warmer color than FL. Soom Afi looks close, but I don't think Soom produces that tan anymore, or if they ever did....their resin colors confuse the hell out of me.... That's the help I have. Those are all my tans that I own.
Thanks a million VampireAngel13 the pictures really help. It does look like a tan hybrid might be a bit challenging. Im thinking about possibly going with magic time or dollzone tan. Does anyone have pictures of that?
Aves, here's the pictures! There's a definite size difference in their heads (I used one of my extras, since I didn't feel like taking anyone apart, so forgive the lack of blushing on him); Ed (Shiwoo) fits best into a 7 wig, and Razzy's wearing a 6-7 that slides around a fair amount. mnfdp01 by vicemage, on Flickr mnfdp02 by vicemage, on Flickr mnfdp03 by vicemage, on Flickr I tried to hold his head in place roughly where it would sit with a neck piece in the last one; there's really no way you could attach the head without one, as the neck is very small compared to the head (and opening). I'm not sure how the head would move, as the piece would be quite large compared to the neck as well. I hope this helps!
Ah thats super helpful thank you so much I'm guessing my idea won't work though, which is slightly disappointing. Rats!
Does the mystic kids 45cm body work with minifee heads? Is their resin even close? I'm still looking for a body for my old minifee head Or Island Doll?
Island Doll uses environmental resin, whereas FairyLand uses urethane resin, so no, Island Doll bodies won't work. They'll look a bit "waxy" or "translucent" in comparison to the head, so even if the color's a match, the appearance will still be off. (I considered Island Doll briefly for my hybrid boy, but the mismatch in resin style ruled them out.)
I don't know if the question is still relevant, but I have MNF hybrid on souldoll kid girl body, proportions are really good (as for me even better than MNF original body). Sorry for quality Skintone of both head and body is normal, but the head is older, so there's a little mismatch on photo without color correction. In life it is not so obvious )))
Thanks Lina_M, were there any problems to restring the body using the minifee neck piece? I am thinking buying this souldoll Kid N.L. for my floating head. How long did you have to wait for the body to arrive?
Lina_M Thank you so much for the photos, they are exactly what I was looking for! Stupid question @all: How do I use a neck donut with an mnf head? O_o"
Same way you use it in a Delf/F60, only in a MNF head it does work, I literally just did it this weekend while trying a Mir on several different bodies, and I used to hold my SP Breakaway on the Dollzone body with one. There might be a problem with larger/stemmed eyes, flat-back eyes are probably a better idea. It will look like it won't fit, so you also might have to kind of force the headback on - that little sticky-outy thing on the headcap needs to be shoved under the donut in order for the head to close (hopefully that makes sense). Another also - try Mint On Cards donuts. They're a pain because they're solid and not open on one end, but they're also a little smaller. Plus, you can buy several of them at once if you're like me and like to randomly shove them in dolls heads to improve head movement....
VampireAngel13 Thank you so much for the photo and the explanation! I never get in touch with neck donuts in any doll before. You made my day *__* some of my dolls do not move their heads as I wish them to.
Since the reverse was requested in another thread, here's a picture of a MNF head on a WithDoll MSD body (no resin match attempted, and the head's just resting there): MNF Head/WD Body by vicemage, on Flickr I can't say if the resin matches at all, but the proportions aren't bad.
Here is my boy Felix! He is a painted MNF Scar Shiwoo on a 46cm Angel Fantasy boy body. He does have the Fairyland neck piece, which fits great on the AF neck. The FL and AF neck measurements are also the same, so there isn't a problem with gapping or the head sitting too high on the neck. Resin was not a match-- Head was NS and body was normal yellow. As for proportions, without a wig he does look a little pinheaded compared to my other dolls. However, with clothing and a wig, the proportions are perfect for me.
Can anybody provide a photo of a MNF girl body next to an impledoll child body? It would be a nice option for a more affordable body if the proportions would be similiar. Thanks~
Dollzone nsy (2015) with a mnf vef shiwoo (???) (he's a little darker peach than current mnf which goes a little on the pink side) the match isn't 100% (I'd say 95+) but close enough that doing a faceup on him made them match 100%. Pic above w ambient bright natural light. Link for phone pic with flash
I need to get a better photo, but my Minifee Ante head is currently on the Domuya Life Project body in white skin. It's androgynous. It's btw a more or less perfect resin match. I bought a new neck piece from Denver Doll to put the head on and that works fine. I added a kip under it to prevent scratching. She is rather tall though. She's currently my tallest MSD. She towers over the mline. The body is single jointed in the knees and double jointed in the elbows. I liked the cute knees. XD
I have just received my Smart girl body (originally I bought a Snowdrop, but I will change her head and put it on sale), and there it goes some comparison pics with minifee Sarang event head on it (personally, as the character should be a little girl of 10/11 years I love this mismatch of size that gives the hybrid a realistic child look - although I know she is too skinny-): You can see that she has a little lollipop head NS colour comparison Neck/head proportions As the original Snowdrop head on this body shows a VERY long neck, I love more this length instead. Hope this helps too.
I've had an idea for a few characters, and ran into an interesting situation: with two of them, Nan and Jaekyung, I found perfect Minifee matches, but for a third (Jinri) I found the right Minifee body type but can't find a sculpt, and the fourth (Yuri) I found the perfect Minifee sculpt but I want her to be notably taller than the others. I stumbled upon a MYOU sculpt (Delia) that I think will be great for Jinri, and since Delia is 44 cm tall that would give me a taller body for Yuri. So my question is: is it possible to put a Minifee head on a MYOU body, and vice versa? Has anyone done it? Thanks!
I have another hybrid that I recently got together. I have a Lucywen head in White on an DC White Elizabeth body. Her match is perfect I can't get her to look all the way up though, or do all that much besides moving it side to side with her head as things stand Probably needs some modifying but here she is! If you want to see more of her, go to my flickr! I have more photos and wil be posting more as I take more photos.
I saw a MNF head on a Dollzone body on Flickr some time ago and the match seemed good. I was wondering, however, if anyone knew which skin tone is the one that matches Fairyland as Dollzone has two tones: normal yellow and normal pink. And, of course, if anyone has any MNF head/Dollzone body they can share, I'd love to see. I've kind of fallen in love with the DZ body for one of my characters, so I am hoping to hybrid with it.
I have read somewhere on DOA that normal yellow is the matching skintone! I can see if I can find the post but I doubt it
Hey. I guess I will have to hunt down more information. I finally found the picture of the Dollzone body hybrid with a MNF head and the user stated it was Normal Skin Pink. Here is the post. However, in my experience, NSP is quite pink, and FL NS is more like a peachy color... but if the body this person has is NSP and the head NS, then the match looks pretty good. The post is from Feb. '16. Here is a picture of the body next to a WS MNF — the height difference is exactly what I was looking for, so I do hope I am able to make this hybrid a reality. Edit: now that I have the hybrid done I can confirm that as of the end of 2017 Dollzone normal pink matches Fairyland NS.
The doll in the light purple wig is a FL Lucywen on the DZ B45-012 body in NPS, and the resin match is really darn good. The redhead is a FL Alicia on the B45-017 in WS, and again a very good resin match. Also, the headless body is a Loongsoul in NPS and is obviously not a very good match to FL's normal resin. The pink haired one is a F&J Mizi.W on a spiritdoll smart body in WS, and IDK if my spiritdoll body is hella yellowed, but it does not match FL's white resin at all.
Hi, I have a question I have a Souldoll soulkid body(ns) and plan on using one of my fairyland heads to hybrid it. You mentioned something about a washer being used could you explain what you mean ? I’d like to avoid buying the special key type neck mechanism from Fairyland if possible. Thank you!
Does anyone have a photo of a minifee head on a loongsoul body?? I heard their tans are quite similar, and I'm trying to find a suitable body for a minifee Mio.
Do you mean the mature body? It's (the body) is a bit awkward, imo. Kind of stiff. (I don't have an available neck donut, so I just used a piece of cardboard to keep the head from sliding down the neck) Both head and body are tan. The body is just 2-3 months old and the head is from 2013-ish. It's the sleeping head and for some reason is darker than the doll it came with, unless the doll lightened over time as the sleeping head has been in storage since purchase. I don't have a regular LoongSoul body, but I hope this helps. It's a Lion Elsa body in tan (2013) with a sleeping WooSoo head. (Also 2013) The WooSoo is a few shades darker with a redder undertone than the LoongSoul. Sorry about the crappy photo quality and the age ranges. It'll give an idea of proportion though.
@Look(ing)UpNorth @Zavrinas I have the DFA version one body, but I do have the newer Loongsoul body. Unfortunately I'm not home with my dolls until June, but I have tried the head on both bodies in the past. I have pictures of how both bodies pose compared to each other, but I didn't take other pictures. I can take pictures of the head on the different bodies in June, but that's a while away.. Sorry about that. The Fairyland head that I have is one of the smaller sculpts, the Spring 2017 event head. Keep that in mind for these descriptions. Although, if the bigger Fairyland heads' sizes don't really bother you, then I wouldn't worry about it as much. The DF-A body's biggest issue is that unless you want your doll to be less mature/childish looking, then the sculpting of the hands and feet will not be articulate enough for you. They are also big enough imo to make the head look out of scale on the body. The feet are especially a bit big, bigger than the Loongsoul feet for sure. Maybe a big Fairyland head would look good on the body, but it won't look very mature. The brightside is that it's still a nice poser, I would just prefer it if it had thigh mobility joints too. The Loongsoul body, from what I remember, seemed pretty good as a hybrid. However, I think with bigger Fairyland heads, the shoulder width might be too small. Everyone's tastes in proportions are different though. Plus, the Loongsoul body is one of the best looking and best posing bodies out there. The sculpting is gorgeous and detailed, and it holds poses like a champ because of its locking mechanisms. Unfortunately my head is NS while my bodies are both WS. The DF-A body is paler than the LS body and has a yellow undertone while the LS body has a peachy undertone. hope this helps!
Thank you so much! Does anyone know how to hybrid a minifee head with a doll leaves body? I finally got my neck piece but I don't know how to use it.
You don't have to; it's easier to pull the existing hook up, slide a chopstick under it and clamp it to give some slack, then swap the hook for the neck piece. You will need all parts of the neck piece.
Oh alright, thank you! I kind of pulled the little s hook out because I saw someone else with theirs removed, will s hooks from the hardware store work too?
@Look(ing)UpNorth , The one that goes with the MNF Neck piece is a specific piece that holds the whole unit together. I'm not sure how you pulled it out, can you show a picture? (Feel free to PM me if you want more specific help and don't want to take up the thread )
Hi I have a soulkid body I wish to hybrid with a Fairyland Head, can it be attached without the Fairyland neck piece adapter?
Throwing in my hybrids for reference! I have a MNF Rheia on the Leekeworld Art body: Her head is getting an update and reshell, but the MNF heads look great on these bodies, thicc thighs. I also recently throw my WIP marcia head on the JID body i have and am happily surprised: Just quick WIP pics for now, but i like the more realistic feel....despite her giant eyes. haha I also have a MNF Risse on a resin soul body i dyed to match: This is easily one of the most inexpensive hybrids. Plus RS is a fantastic company to buy from.
you can't connect mnf heads to anything without SOME kind of adapter, as the hold is too large. you need a washer, a 3d printed, or official FL one.
Anyone have a MNF head on the newer Withdoll Girl body that released with Olivia? How is the resin match?
Hello. Here is a minifee Mika head in a Myou doll 45cm boy body ver.II in normal pink. Myou doll normal pink in very pale and you can see that the resin tones are diferent but I love the posability of this body and once she's dressed it doesn't show. paginas para ver fotos
@Blue Clown What a gorgeous hybrid!!! This has completely changed my plans for my incoming Sylvia sleeping head!
Another hibrid she is a Minifee Niella in a Dream Valley 1/4 body in normal skin I had seen comparative photos of Dream Valley's normal skin and Fairyland's skin normal and I thought they were quite similar. But in person it does not work, the DV resin is more yellow than that of Fayriland, but in terms of proportion it is a very good hydrid.
Does anyone have good suggestions for lanky type bodies for a MNF head? I'm not familiar enough with these dolls to visualize some of the measurements. Plus, resin matching isn't a problem for me since I'll be dying it, I'm more worried about proportions.
I have a NS minifee Karsh head coming to me soon and wondering if anyone could recommend a body for her? ive searched and seems an Angel of Dream body may work? Thanks in advance
Dream Valley has as "Pink" aka Normal Pink skin tone that matches pretty well with Fairyland normal. I have 3 hybrids with their Pink skin.
Sorry if someone already posted it but i can't seem to find it. Does anyone have a Minifee head on a Supiadoll body? Please and thanks! (Resin match isn't a worry i just need to know if it works)
I've combed through this thread from the beginning but couldn't find anything about Mystic Kids, does anyone know if they have a match for a minifee NS head? Also, is there a step-by-step tutorial anywhere for how to install the Fairyland neck piece on a different company's body? Or how to DIY a neckpiece that works?
I just recently put a MNF head on a hybrid body. You will probably need a second person to help with this, or at least I did. Basically you just need to pull up on the S hook/O ring of thr body from the neck, until you can see a good amount of elastic pulled out, maybe at least the length of your thumb. With the elastic pulled out and holding the body in place, have someone take a hemostat and clip the elastic at the opening of the neck. This way, all of the elastic you pulled out no longer has tension and you can let it go without it snapping back into the body. Now you can freely remove the S hook, and instead replace it with the MNF neck connector. the hook inside of the neck connector is very small so it might be difficult and annoying to hook the elastic in it, depending on how thick the body's elastic is. Once you've secured the elastic to the neck connector, firmly hold onto the neck connector and hold the body in place with your other hand. Have someone remove the hemostat from the elastic. The tension will come back to the elastic and want to pull the neck connector and the body to snap back together, which is why you want to hold it firmly, so that you can make sure you let the elastic go back into the body slowly, until the neck connector is secured on the neck and you're done.
