What's your favourite doll related song?

My personal favorite is Still Doll by Kanon Wakeshima ^^

 

Coin Operated Boy by Amanda Palmer. It's creepy but wonderful! And it definitely reminds me of ball jointed dolls.

 

I must have been picking up vibes from you on it, because I came to post that very same song when I saw the title for this post!

For me, it's this song...not exactly doll related, but it kinda reminds of me of my doll...LOL (maybe also due to the fact that I'm so currently loving this song and listen to it over and over while browsing BJD related stuffs, so it kinda stuck in my head for now)

 

Definitely "Dollhouse" by Melanie Martinez as number one. My second pick, although not exactly about "dolls" but about an automaton, would be "My Metal Boy" by The Cog is Dead. It's such an endearing and adorable song. It always makes me think of my dolls and how much I love them like children.

 

So, I don't know if any of you are into opera, but... one that I'm familiar with has a character that is essentially a wind-up doll and she has a beautiful aria. It's so cute because several times throughout the song, she stops working and has to be wound up to continue!

Doll Parts by Hole!

 

Cliff Richard - Living doll. The guy always sings so laid-back ^.^

 

I have to agree on this one. I think the doll in her music idea is not only beautiful, but may be a bjd. I would absolutely love to have one like it in any case.

 

According to Google, it is a DiM Flora, that was painted by someone known as Pepstar.

 

There's also the song China Doll by Rachel Los Hak. It's not actually about dolls so much as it is a metaphor, but I've always thought it was really pretty.



And then there's Creepy Doll by Jonathan Coulton, the guy who wrote Still Alive for Portal. Obviously it's supposed to be a humorous song, and is in no way associated with BJDs, but it's doll-related. And catchy. I like it a lot. :P

 

Not really about dolls, more metaphorical, but still awesome. Mika is just amazing.

@Doll-Mage Okay firstly, that song is really good! Secondly, I feel the same way about my dolls.
Going to have to add Oops I did it again by Britney Spears, because I keep getting more floating heads when I really should be buying bodies for the floating heads!

 

Lily's for sure is Battle Hymn of the Republic, Miko Mido has her own theme from her source material, Syrinx has the Rush song her name is from, and Makemake I would say Flash by Queen.

I LOVE 'Creepy Doll'!

My favorite doll song might be The Doll's Tea Party by the Magnetic Fields. It's really cute, with a music box-y sound.

It and 'Creepy Doll' were on the CD I once made for listening to in the car on the way to doll meets, actually... I don't remember all that I put on there. I think 'Doll on a Music Box' from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was probably on there, and Teddy Bears' Picnic (even though it's not about DOLLS), and Elvis Costello's 'Tear Off Your Own Head (It's a Doll Revolution)'... might have had Coin Operated Boy on there as well.

 

Late reply, and I dont know if it counts, but I thought of "The Waltz of the Doll" from Coppelia
I'm a little bit of a ballet nerd, although I don't dance anymore, it would be super amazing to see someone do some sort of stop motion version with their bjds.
Also oddly enough I was thinking of something from Pinocchio and something by Marina and the Diamonds, though I can't remember which ones, and they are probably a bit of a reach anyways.

I thought of Still Doll and Puppet (Mary's Theme) as well.

My favorite version of still doll is this one, with the voice pitched down. To me, it makes it sound a bit more haunting in a beautiful way. It's a really beautiful song in general though.
