I'd like to get some specialty fabric to sew with, and Spoonflower has all kinds of fantastic designs-but I've run into a problem. The threads about Spoonflower here are all years old, and they reference different names. Spoonflower's own site is out of stock on the swatch set, so that's a no go. So now I'm hoping someone has used Spoonflower recently enough. If you were making t-shirts/stretchy long sleeve shirts/leggings for a 45 cm slim MSD doll, which of these is the fabric to use? -cotton spandex jersey -modern jersey -organic cotton knit -something completely different?
Any one of those 3 should work! It really depends on the look you want. Looking at my own (recently ordered, so current) sample set, I think I personally would choose either the cotton spandex or the modern jersey--but the organic cotton knit is nice, too. None of them feel too thick/bulky for 45cm dolls, and all of them have enough stretch to work.
To be honest, I'd look for granny panties in the underwear section. Plenty of fabric in those, they are a nice equivalent weight to human t-shirt fabric, and they often come in tiny prints. Buy the biggest sizes you can find.
double edit: i guess it didn't actually double post :'| long story short, i second the top two choices, and the regular cotton is also really nice for dresses after you wash it. i like using the ones marked for "appropriate for baby clothes" & etc.
