What sculpt would your BJD own?

Noah would own a Dollshe Bermann, purely for the fact it's pretty! The Twins would get a Pipos Cheshire because they like cats! They would all play with their dolls and most likely send them off for faceups. I think Noah's Bermann would dress very victorian ish, and then Noah would make him a lab coat so he (Noah) has another science buddy. The Twins would make the Cheshire like the one from the Disney animation!

 

What a cool question, haha! Reminds me of a Gallery+ photoshoot I was looking at not long ago, with a BJD in the role of a doll owner, carrying around and taking pictures of her own smaller-scale doll.

For most members of my doll family, it would not be in-character for them to own BJDs, but the ones who would are interesting cases.

Merryweather actually does have one - but she knows it's actually CiCi (a 1/6 scale Soom Mini Gem Aren), a visitor from the faerie realm who hangs out in the human world disguised as a doll so that she can inconspicuously keep an eye on hapless young Floy as he matures, waiting for when she deems him ready to learn about his ties to the faerie folk. Only Merry is in on the secret right now, and playing the 'owner' of doll!CiCi is an agreement between the two of them. However, if Merry collected BJDs beyond this plot-driven reason, she would favor sculpts from Peak's Woods, the Rosette School of Dolls, and Rosen Lied. She would not give them fully fledged characters, but she might assign them personalities. She would set them up in carefully detailed flower garden and tea party arrangements, and her dolls would have pretty custom faceups and custom-commissioned pretty dresses and yeah, you get the idea.

The twins, Allegretto and Adagietto, would be a trippier case. They would have dolls of the people who feature regularly in their lives or who made a particularly memorable impression on them. Meaning ... they would own many of the same sculpts that I own, with the same clothes+faceups and representing the same individuals - a DZ Wing for Alystair, a DZ Clovera for Merryweather, etc. (Alystair and Merry are the twins' cousins.) However, they would not have a pair of CH Hyuns as doll forms of themselves, because their conception of themselves is too abstract and fluid/unstable. They're a strange pair, rather exclusive to themselves and with a penchant for reality-bending within their little shared personal sphere, so they would be quite intrigued by a mini!verse of dolls to play with as either a mirror or a dramatic deviation from the reality.

Kazuki would prolly get a Crobidoll L.J cause it looks like his idol, G-Dragon. And Kazuki would call L.J, Jiyong and become brothers with him. Well, a lifeless brother since it's a doll inception. The weird thing is, he is the same height as L.J. XD So it'll just make Kazuki look more like a creepy stalker. LOL.

Tilly would get a Zuzu delf since she's always wanted a kitty cat. She'll prolly name her Liv. I do not know why. Anyway, she'd prolly give it a mystery, diabolical cat cause they'd be so much alike.

 

My dolls are fairly different from each other so they would be all over the owner maps.

Mali would have some gorgeous LE (or possibly 2) fullset that lives in a glass case where she can look at it all the time. I'm thinking Soom Cass or Amphibel or maybe an OOAK AiL Alice fullset.

Tobi would have a Unoa Lusis for sure and probably a Bluefairy of some sort, but she'd be one of those people who has a tonne of dolls and plays with/customizes them constantly... so a bunch of Soom/Fairyland/Luts/Volks/etc. dolls in a range of sizes would be right up her alley.

Bella (my future Rheia) would probably think they were stupid but secretly adore the little pukipuki Ante someone gave her.

Jonas would probably want a tiny and only have one insanely well-loved doll that she would treat like gold. My assumption would be a YoSD Four Sisters, but a LittleFee Leah or something would do just as well.

 

My Iplehouse Soo (Pippa) would totally own a Super Senior Delf Cane. That way she'll always have an emergency handsome dude on hand. xDDDDD

 

What an interesting question! Mine would own a Crobidoll Wooyu - a tiny 1/6 sized cutie for him to look after since he has a strong liking for adorable people and things.

 

Raeli would have something like an Unoa, or Doll-Love Manatus/Janeshine, for the spunky + ladylike mix Lacey would probably have a Leeke or Volks, Aaron wouldn't have one, January would have a Pukipuki or Pukifee, or a DZ Flower Fairy Apple would have one of the Enfant Ai Moonlight Horror dracula dolls xD I'm thinking NotDoll for Iakova.

 

My Noir definitely will own a Volks Nono from Dollpa 26, both Winter Smile and Romantic Sweet Dream version. Or basically any cute big-eyed MSD or YOSD he will cross into. He has this sweet spot for cute little dolly-like girls...

Orin will probably happy to own a Pukifee Pong-Pong, or a Pipos Rooney / Cheese Mouse ^^

While Rion, Naoya, and Aro... no, I think they are not into dolls.

 

Most of mine would not own a bjd, though Maddy would! She'd want a Limwa Mari, most likely and would make her into a little goth, doing her own faceups, wig and clothing. She'd carry her around in her purse, taking her wherever she went.

Maddy actually IS a doll collector, she just hasn't gotten in bjds. :P atm, she has several (mini) Living Dead Dolls and plushies.

 

미동 would never have a doll... but if he did, it would probably be a girl one with a sweet face. He would like a lot of the female SoulDolls ;3

 

I don't think either of my dolls would actually own fills. Ces prefers his dogs and Seraphine likes stuffed animals.

 

Of my lot, only Ageha would possibly collect dolls. He would collect limited Volks dolls and style them like his favourite J-rock stars and keep them away in a glass cabinet. And then he'll forget about them for long periods of time until something reminds him that, oh, yea, he owns dolls, and he'd play with them for awhile. Rinse and repeat.

He wouldn't know what to do with them, just that he has to get them because they're Japanese and therefore cool. =_= He would also be the sort to do box openings for the sake of putting Heru into the box, and then get carried away photographing his cat and ignoring the doll. =_= Horrible thing, isn't he?

 

My doll does own a doll, and both are on-topic! Jian, my DoD Homme Ducan, owns a Dollmore Banji Elf Elly Girl (Black Bangs Hair version). She is MSD size in scale compared to him (14.5cm tall for the rest of us), and perfect for what he wanted. He has a DoD Pisce and a Luts Honey Delf PIE on his wishlist for "SD" dolls (which YoSDs scale to versus a real SD doll).

 

Vey, Ryuu and Axel wouldn't own dolls. Aiden would probaley get a minifee Karsh, He would relate his engineering experience to the posing abilities of the doll and I just feel that he has a secret elf thing. Chase would get a LittleFee Pongpong, because Chase likes happy things. Naamah would probaley get something crazy like a iplehouse EID or something along those lines.

 

Puki Pongpong, hands down. Frei actually wants me to acquire one so he could have a living doll of his own. ^_^

 

Charlotte would have an IH Jessica because she, being not traditionally pretty herself, loves Jessica's classic looks. She would dress her Jessica as a silent movie star, or a retro pinup model. Then she'd have a tiny because she'd want something she could take with her and pull out for impromptu photo shoots

This is a fab idea. My two main OCs - one whose dollform is pending - are lovers. If they were together Rosaire would get a doll of Mihael, just to annoy him (it'd have to be a Leeke Mihael) and in response Mihael would get the biggest chested doll he could find and dress them in lolita clothes.

Alone, Mihael would get a doll of Rosaire (Migidoll Shion) because he's actually a softie, and would need a way to look at his lover's face. He'd never admit to owning it though.

But I think Rosaire would view it more as art pieces to be displayed. He'd probably keep going until he owned one doll from each company and then would have the faces sent off to professional artists to paint (when time is not a problem, Van Gough can do your face-up). Likewise, he'd get the clothes specially commissioned from big-name fashion designers. He's kind of a snob like that :/

 

Until now I didn't have a doll who would collect anything like BJDs. (sounds weird ^^
Now that I have a collector: He'd probably go for the LEs of more expensive companies and resell them later, only being in the hobby for the money.

 

I love this question!! I think Laisren would own either a Crobidoll Tei or Migidoll Ryu. I'm not sure what she'd name them, but I definitely think she'd definitely give them characters, paint their faceups and sort of set them up on a shelf near her desk to admire and reference while she worked. I definitely think she'd be a sort of trendy artsy doll photographer type who strives to create more realistic looking characters.

 

If any of my dolls had bjds, could see Darastrix owning all of the Aileen doll dragons while Charis would go for the kitty ones.

Oh man... this is just MORE justification for me to get them myself...

 

I could see my Meike owning Dollfie Dreams, because of the anime-esque look and association with Japan. And Kellan would own pretty girls, any pretty girl that he could dress up and take photos of He'd spoil them with clothes and wigs.

 

I think Evelyn would collect cute dolls--maybe PukiPukis or similar. She's definitely have to have some adorable pet dolls and maybe an anthro or two. That said, I can't imagine that she'd ever have more than five. She'd want to keep the collection small so she could be attentive to all of them.


Candyce would only ever have three. She 'd be the collector who has one doll she'd never sell. That doll would most likely be modded in one way or another to make it unique. I can see her with a Super Delf or a Feeple60. The others would be bought, enjoyed, styled, and sent on their way. At first. I think eventually she'd get the dolls she always wanted (whether she knew it or not) and then they'd stay.


Madelinn would want a collection of only pet dolls and anthros, so she could be surrounded by forest friends.


And I think those are the only three who would have dolls. Akira might, but she likes simple, so the joints of a BJD might overwhelm her...

 

Mirza would own SQ-Labs/Dollfie Dreams and hide them in his closet because he doesn't want people to think he's like, so freaky hentai freak he just likes painting them, okay??? I'm sure his future unnamed girlfriend that I plan on getting wouldn't mind them either lol.

 

I think Caroline (my MNF Chloe) would probably collect Pukifee's or Lati Yellow's and Mellie (MNF Luka) would have a lot of tiny cat anthro's (she adores kitties )

 

I've actually been wondering this for a while because I wanted to get Nadeko her own BJD ^^;
I don't think she's the type to really own or play with dolls unfortunately, she might like those cute anthros like the Pipos bunnies though (if only they came puki-sized)
one of her future sisters might like traditional Japanese dolls like Kokeshi and Ichimatsu dolls

I really want my future boy to collect dolls though, maybe he'd like odd dolls like Doll Chateau dolls

 

Anthony would own the 70cm Doll Chateau Sexta so he would have someone to keep him company, a very handsome someone that is.

 

I feel that Blair would want a Doll Chateau Ada, although he'd never ever admit it. His world, as an OC, has a scarce amount of fauna, and these little moosetaurs might just be to his liking. Although, he always tries to maintain his façade as an emotionless commander, so he couldn't let his men see him with little Ada.

 

My little girl, Jim, actually has her own doll, sort-of!

Luna, a Unoa Sist was actually created by her, and somehow is very lifelike...even Jim isn't sure how she did it.
The weird thing is, Luna is taller than Jim, who is a YOSD, so she won't be carrying her around anytime soon.

 

Michi would want his own sculpt for sure. So he would have a mini me. So, besides zzd lio, he would want the other zuzu delfs too, perhaps also Pipos and Dear Mine (anthro's).

The only one in my family I can see being a doll collector is Terra. Terra would probably collect the cutsie big-eyed Volks sculpts. She probably wouldn't give her dolls characters as they would mostly be cabinet babies. She would get the Volks default faceups and all Volks clothing and wigs. She'd probably be really frustrated when other people tried to look at her dolls or touch them...

 

Laria would be a YoSD dolly owner. Definitely on the chibi side of childlike. Cutesy clothing and props would be a must ^_^

 

I can see my future girl doll wanting to own other BJDs and I can see her taste tend towards the odder ones. Doll Chateau Elizabeth (the spider) comes to mind, and so does the Impldoll fox girl XiaoWei (not exactly anthropomorphic animals... but more like human-animal hybrids.)

 

If your doll owned a doll, what sculpt would they go for and why? I have a feeling my dollbaby would go for tinies, like Latis, since she grew up taking care of younger kids at the orphanage she came from.

Would they give it a character? Yes, I think she would, I'm not entirely sure if it'll be very extensive as mine though lol!

Would they play with it or would it be a cabinet baby? She would bring it with her outside, but I think she would be too scared to leave it around since she owns a pomeranian.

Do their own faceups? No, her health can't handle the chemicals associated with faceups.

Make or buy clothes? She doesn't have the sewing ability, but she'll try to make them, I'm sure.

What kind of a doll owner would your doll be? My dollbaby would probably be very... like me? Haha! I don't even know what kind I am!

 

If Dai owned a bjd, he would probably have a Doll Leaves Noir, making it mega inception. He is a self absorbed asshole, so I feel like he would want to have a mini-me to play with and worship. I know for sure that one of my future OC's (Haru) will have a bjd, but I'm not sure what type of doll I'm going to get him. I was thinking of getting an obistu 23 or perhaps using figmas.
