I agree with most of what has been said here and although I am a person who does not like rules too much and I am used to behaving decently by default, I understand that it is necessary sometimes. I wish there was a forum for BJD collectors like DoA in my country. Social networks are terribly annoying and confusing in this regard. So I like the fact that it is easy to navigate here, although English is not my first language and I struggle with it quite a bit. What is great is the information, references, comparisons, discussions in which you will learn important things about this hobby, the ability to share photos from Flickr, a specific community including sections focused on old doll models, it is not just about pictures, but you can really find lessons here. I adore the tutorials here. You have actually inspired me to start creating as well. I also appreciate the fun of the games and the safe environment for buying/selling dolls, including feedback. Thanks for keeping this community alive and sorry for my bad English.
It's not just one thing but a bunch of big and little things: the community, resources, organization, marketplace, and the mods. I've been on and off here for nearly two decades now and I love how consistent it has been over the years with the things I mentioned above but also seeing it grow and evolve. My husband peruses other forums but mainly to read juicy dolly drama over in those places, but when he wants "good" information he asks me to check DoA. DoA has been a healthy and supportive community for me in all things related to BJDs which has been super wonderful considering how hard it is sometimes to find fellow BJD enthusiasts in the wild if I am not really looking or trying. But here, it's my safe place to be a BJD owner and hobbyist without shame and I like that.
