What is your dolls personality? What does he/she like, flaws, traits etc.

Eheh, I'll take any chance to talk about my characters~ (Also, you might wanna check out this thread if you love characters like I do! It's all just for character talk. )

This is Ilya!

He's a selkie (so a seal that can transform into a human), and he's a total goofball most of the time. He loves playing soccer and wants to be a professional soccer player one day. He's very determined and wants to do his best at everything, but he can be a little air-headed sometimes. (Though he's very intelligent and tactically-oriented, he lacks a little common sense sometimes.) He loves travelling and hamburgers, and he's just an all-around good guy. (He's whiny when he's sick though.)

Next is Aelic~

He's a bookworm with a very dry and witty sense of humor. He's kind and sweet, and likes helping people. He's on the same soccer team as Ilya and loves playing, but he wants to work either in a library or in book conservation when he gets older. He's super loyal to his friends, and loves cuddling with everyone. He can be a little passive aggressive, but only when the situation really calls for it.

Lastly, Toshi! (His full name is Fukuto Toshimaru, with Fukuto being his surname and Toshimaru his given name.)

Toshi is calm and collected, and likes being as efficient as possible. Though he seems kind of reserved, he smiles and laughs easily and loves making friends. He's an astral projector, and he honestly prefers the parallel magic dimension to the human one. His family expects him to be prim and proper and to carry on the great family name, but Toshi doesn't want any of that; he loves adventuring and using magic and being a dork. He also loves all kinds of traditional Japanese theatre, especially rakugo.

These are just the dolls I have mostly finished... I have tons and tons of characters. Like...tooooons.

 

Haha, thanks! Some take a while, but others just pop right into my head, like the next doll I'm getting, Lacey-Rae (a Dollits Miso). I made her character and her girlfriend, plus basically all of their backstories and storyline together in a single day. Other characters, like Ilya and Aelic, take a bit longer. And all character develop and change a little over time, so thas a factor too.

As for Aelic and Toshi, I had their characters before the dolls, so I found dolls to fit the characters. In Ilya's case though, I saw the Carter sculpt and really loved it, so I made a character to go with it, then bough him and got him painted/made his outfit so that everything fit. (Lacey's character was like this too; I made a character to fit the Miso sculpt that I loved so much.)

I just...really love making characters. I have an enormous doll wishlist of dolls to shell characters, and even more characters that will never get shelled 'cause there's just too many.

 

Yep! Some people find dolls to fix preexisting characters, some peope make characters to for sculpts, some people make a character after they've had the doll for a while, and some people don't really have characters for their dolls at all. And any way is fine! Whatever works for you.

 

I have a lot of dolls and they're all characters from my novels. Probably the most flawed is Sleet.

Sleet is from my Divine Worship world. He is a former Meadow Fairy that was transformed to be what he is now by Fei-Lau, God of Winter Storms, when Fei-Lau saved Sleet from death. Sleet is Fei-Lau's minion.

Sleet is also a sociopath and a serial killer. He fully admits to being a sociopath and admits to killing multiple beings just for the thrill of doing so. He's happy with the way he is and sees no reason to change. His killing spree is mostly curbed by Fei-Lau as Sleet loves Fei-Lau to an insane degree and obeys him without question. Sleet is also Fei-Lau's lover along with Khale, whom Sleet also loves beyond reason. Sleet has zero empathy for anyone aside from Fei-Lau and Khale. He's an excellent manipulator, very devious and extremely one-track minded when he has a goal.

 

I have SO many dolls, I'm not even going to attempt to discuss 18 all right here, but I'll talk about Luc since he's currently my fave.

This is Luc:


He's 19, a college student and bagboy at the local grocery store. He's a dork, gun enthusiast, gamer, film maker, always looking for adventure. He didn't have a happy life growing up and was bullied relentlessly in school, but now that he's on his own and out of high school, his life is much better. He likes hanging out with friends, movies, camping, swimming, sitting on the roof and looking at stars. Due to his childhood, he still sometimes struggles with emotions and reading body language, but he's learning and doing the best he can. He's a roleplay character, so his future really just depends on how things play out with others.

 

@KiyoshiSenshi I love your characters and the work and love you put into them! Such a sweet trio.
@Iron_Dog I remember reading about Sleet and your other characters in the character thread-- and now I know he has such a cool look!

For now I'll just do Vince;


Personality-wise, Vince is very friendly and loving, but a bit self-centered. He has some difficulty understanding that the things he likes/wants won't be the same thing everyone else likes/wants, so his solutions to people's problems always wind up to be suggesting what he would want in that situation. He loves dressing up, being admired, going to tea parties... and he loves animals and toys. He can be lazy sometimes, and impatient at other times, but he means well. He really likes attention-- and really dislikes feeling ignored, his least favorite thing in the world.

 

I only have Elliot fully shelled at the moment, so I'll just put up a picture of him for now.



Physically, he's in his late teens, early twenties at most. But as a living doll, in actuality he is no more that two. Both his head and body are secondhand, and it has left him with a fear that maybe no one will be able to like him for long and that he is destined to constantly be sold off. This freaks him out especially because a doll's memories of their past life are wiped when they are sold.

He is a bit of a grouch and a hothead, but he is also kind of shy and anxious. He likes books and fancy clothes, and he'll even begrudge me some feminine clothes, though he sometimes worries what others will think of it.

When I finish the others, I'll put them up too.

 

Below is Guórén, a hybrid both in resin and in character (Han Chinese/Portuguese, but born in Japan).

Due to the circumstances of his birth, he hated having anyone mention his foreign roots, or having anything foreign threaten the status quo -- at least until he finally accepted his mixed heritage as something to be proud of. As such, he tended to come out as a cold and ruthless but nonetheless effective (if not unusual) enforcer of the law. Ironically though, he has deep-seated insecurities about his identity because he never felt truly accepted by his biological parents' peoples or the land of his birth.

Below meanwhile, is Adhara.

Having arrived into the world when the land was more accepting of foreign influence, she found the current regime to be quite stifling, but nonetheless still a business opportunity like no other. She is cunning and mischievous at heart, partly due to her unconventional upbringing by a peddler who found it necessary to do whatever it takes to get the upper hand and survive. But she knew she wasn't human and probably never was. As many of the people she knew and loved passed away while she still stayed on, she began to wonder what her true purpose was.

Although she was known to be totally businesslike in dealing with others, she was capable of random acts of kindness, as she did with Guórén in his youth. This seemingly random act of kindness would have serious consequences for them both in the future.

He's probably going to have a cameo in my tabletop roleplaying game at some point. That world has forests and Forests - while the former are only areas of trees and wild growth, the latter are conscious and magically-inclined networks with wills of their own, and each has an incarnation of sorts, a single being that acts as focus and self-aware mind of the Forest. That forest spirit is called an Anima (or Animus).

When the previous Anima was slain, a fawn became the replacement. Mind and body warped by rebounding magic, he went from animal to Animus in an eyeblink.

He likes the elves and other creatures that inhabit his forest, likes running and splashing in streams, and wandering and chasing with the more ordinary deer. In particular, he likes the elves' drumming music, and he likes dancing to it when he thinks they can't see him.
He likes the cycles and rhythms of nature - including the rhythms of predator and prey, of wildfire and regrowth. He's fond of storms and can be found playing in clearings during the rain.

Despite his wildness, he is not above a bit of comfort or luxury, but the life of a deer doesn't lend itself easily to accumulating possessions. People who bring him sweets may make a friend.

He dislikes intentional cruelty and too many rules, placing him always at the edge of society. He strongly dislikes any attempt to prey upon him personally, whether it comes from a particularly foolish predator or a greedy trader trying to capture a rarity. After his sense of self expanded to include the entirety of his Forest, that gave him a full-time job of hunting and driving away anyone and anything that intends to push back his borders or damage the careful balance of the many species that depend upon him.

 

Pete is... flawed, for sure-- and he deals with his own awareness of and sensitivity about his flaws by projecting an air of extreme self confidence/narcissism. There are a lot of things about himself he doesn't like, but he really does not want other people to see those things, or to see his self-loathing.

He's highly intelligent, but highly lazy, and he doesn't handle defeats well, which means he really squanders his intellectual gifts. He doesn't bounce back from setbacks easily, whether they are brought on by his own mistakes or outside forces-- it's about the same to him. He tends to give into depression when an ambition is frustrated, and to just lie around barely taking any care of himself.

The one thing that does keep him going is having a found family, having someone who needs him to be at his best, or at least to be able to pull himself up and try. He might not always make the right moves, but whenever he's acting out of a 'big brotherly' interest, it motivates him to try much harder.

Sports are kind of an anathema to him-- he doesn't even like watching them on TV, it's just a foreign country to him. Not just because of the physical activity, which he finds exhausting and un-fun, but because of the outdoorsiness of it. The sun is trying to kill him, so... he just doesn't get it and he doesn't want to hear about it. He doesn't like to wear glasses even though he has terrible eyesight-- night vision aside, which is above average. He doesn't drink (but learned how to fake it in college, where he spent a lot of times drinking various sodas out of red Solo cups).

He often dresses a little preppy (though he has a secret goth side), but his interests are pure nerd-- video and tabletop gaming, and his fannish interests in old TV shows and music, fantasy novels, nerdish trivia. Spending all his time on his computer, even without any particular pursuit in mind.

Pete really, really wants to be liked by people, and as a nerdy kid with a very visible difference from everyone else (as well as a couple invisible differences that every other kid still picked up on), he grew up willing to go to extremes to ingratiate himself. A lot of things don't work-- being the smartest guy in the room, for example, will not make a weird-looking gay disabled teenager popular. Over the years he learned to build personas, and to have a little more social success. He still has a love-hate relationship with parties.

 

Avalon and Avery are brother and sister. Avalon is trying his best to look after her with the help of his best friend Noah and his girlfriend Kazumi. Avalon is very goofy sometimes, but also knows when to be serious. He can be a little flirty and likes dressing in loud fun kind of clothing. He also adores his little sister and misses their parents. He also has to sometimes break up arguments with Noah and Kazumi as they don't like each other much. If at all.

But Avalon's hardest problem? Actually getting Avery to stop annoying him.

Avery is ten years old and very bubbly and cheerful. She loves playing games with her friends and adores animals of all kinds. She also loves playing with her big brother and running around outside. She's a dreamer and likes to think big even with her being pretty small for a ten year old. She gets along with Kazumi and likes teasing her about one day marrying her brother. Noah looks after her when Avalon can't for some reason or another.

(They have a brother, Avalon's fraternal twin who I'm currently saving up for.)

This is Garlic (excuse his messy wig!) He likes food, frogs, gemstones, and 'found things', such as trinkets dropped by humans. He's loud, straight-forward, narcissistic and stubborn. Despite this all, he is a good person and a surprisingly good mentor, for an elf. He lives in a small cove in a sunflower field.

This is Yue. Her story isn't too developed, but what we do know is that she likes plushies and toys, sweets, and dressing up. She lives with her grandmother in England in a small apartment complex. She's got a little school-girl crush on one of my other dolls (who won't be posted for various reasons), but he sees her as a little sister, which she doesn't acknowledge. She can be quite pushy and bossy, but she is a very sweet little girl.

I have another doll, but I won't post her because she is currently for sale on various places and I'm not sure how long I'll have her for still

 

I wont post photos cuz that rarely works for me, but in short, I have two dolls currently. Yuna is a ghost, and Kai is a vampire. They are dating very very seriously. Yuna loves chocolate and sweets, Kai loves blood and meat. Yuna is sweet, quiet, shy and loves to read. Kai is adventurous, outwordly cold, but a sweetheart. Kai has a dark past, Yuna a lonely one. They complete each other and brighten up each others cold worlds. Im a sucker for undead romances sorry XD. I have short summarized versions of their stories on my doll profiles!

 

Heather is a really sweet child, she cares about basically everyone (Especially her girlfriend Willow) and just loves to spread positivity and happiness. She loves being a cheerleader, it's basically the perfect position for her. She loves cheering on the team and encouraging everyone to do their best.

She can be a bit dim though. She has trouble making out subtle social cues from speech, like sarcasm.

 

Thank you! His story is very close to my own, in fact, parts of his story come directly from my own experiences, which makes him very close to me. I was bullied from around age 9 until I graduated high school, and it did have long term effects on me, but things got so much better in college, as it does in Luc's story. I'm glad things got better for you!

My boys are all flawed. My first twins are Ash and Evz, Ash is the oldest and is selfish, impulsive but outgoing. Evz has a brother complex and is completely enamored of his older twin. They are half demon so they have warped personalities anyway. They both work in advertising so they get to work together on projects.
They also like to cosplay and can get inappropriately raunchy.

I have two dolls, but... I wanna do it for my first one, Sonora!

Sonora is a very angry character. She doesn't really like anyone, and only tolerates a small handful of people. She's quiet, but very aggressive... and doesn't give very many warnings before she deals with whatever the problem is in her own very violent way. She's very direct and to the point, and doesn't like having to go out of her way for something that can be solved then and there. Sonora is also shockingly loyal. Her trust is not something easily earned, but if you get it, she will defend you/stand by you against anything.

If you betray her... Sonora will hunt you DOWN against anything.

 

Elin is a nature maniac xD shes kind but can be really agressive when it comes to nature

 

Momoko is a 30yo div otaku with an unhealthy obsession with BL and shojo manga. She's super short and loves this because she can fit into all sorts of lolita clothing, but hates it because she's mistaken for being too young to do anything. She's a total brat and princess and loves nothing more than to go shopping and hang out in maid and butler cafes. :P
