What is Landoudou?

Jan 11, 2026

    1. This doll has apparently been around for a while but I just noticed it recently. I'm trying to figure out who makes them and an official website. Searching Landoudou on this site didn't provide any results. AI said that it's not a brand of doll at all but a type of doll appearance popular in Japan, which seems like a lie to me as identical as the sculpt appears to be. You can see photos of them on Etsy. Are none of them legit? I can't buy anything unless I know it's authentic. They're apparently 26cm if that helps. Not sure why DOA doesn't seem to have any listed. Are they not BJDs? Thanks for your insight!

    2. These dolls don't seem to be on topic because they're sold to be used on off-topic bodies. They may be resin and compatible with on topic bodies, but you'd have to ask the mods for their verdict. They seem to be sold through Instagram @landazz.doll by the maker. The bio "Our original handmade dolls (landoudou)can be purchased only from us. Please purchase doll with a certificate♡" implies that yes, they do have an issue going on. I would not purchase any of these dolls from Etsy.

    3. When you don't find a brand mentioned on DoA @2 Scoop it could be for a number of reasons.

The first is that nobody has ever submitted them to the staff for a topicality review. See the Criteria for Doll Inclusion for the list of qualities a doll must meet to be considered for topicality.

The second is that they have been reviewed by the staff and were deemed Off Topic. You can see the Wiki for the list of Off Topic dolls. The third reason would be if the doll or brand was banned from the forum, that list is also found in the Wiki.

In this case, the staff is unfamiliar with this brand and has not reviewed them.

At a glance I can see the maker Landazz created their heads to fit the 4cm neck of the 22/24cm Obitsu body. That size of Obitsu is Off Topic. Doll hybrids that include off topic parts makes the whole doll off-topic. So by artist intention, they are not meant to fit our forum criteria.

They have offered heads for sale without the body, but we don't know if they can be attached to an on-topic body without needing to be modified to work. If they need to be modified to work, then they'd still be off-topic.

If the heads Landazz sells solo do work with on-topic bodies without needing modifications then they may be on topic.
As things currently stand, we'll send this thread to the off-topic doll area, Brigadoon.
