What fits Chibi-Unoas? (Please post your pics & links!)

    1. Since the same questions ("Which shoes fit?", etc.) keep coming up in the Chibi-Unoa Discussion Thread, those of us who have done a lot of trial and error on our Chibis are going to share our successes . . . and please feel free to add photos of shoes/clothing that fit as you come across them!

      First, there are a ton of pictures in my Chibi-Unoa Flickr Gallery, and I've done my best to put captions on all of them to describe the clothing/wigs/shoes/eyes.

      Chibi-Unoas wear the same size wig (6-7) as Unoas and most other slim minis (Narae, Mini-Fee, etc.) I normally switch wigs between all my slim minis with no problems.

      They can wear some slim mini clothing (Unoa, Narae, MiniFee), although it depends on the item -- short or half-sleeved shirts are fine, long-sleeved shirts or long pants will be too long. My Chibis and my Unoas often share clothing, but it's definitely an item-by-item question of whether or not the clothing looks oversized (or whether you *want* a cute, "big-sister's-clothing" look, for that matter!)

      Shoes are problematic -- some shoes that fit slim minis will fit Chibis (especially with socks), others are really oversized. (If someone has a comparison pic of Chibi & Unoa feet, plus measurements, that would be really helpful!)

      IpleHouse JID shoes fit as if they're made for Chibis, with the exception of the knee-high boots, which are too tall (they come above the knee joint.) I have also had good luck with shoes made for 14" Kish Chrysalis dolls (they are also a really good fit, although they're not as high-quality as some of the BJD shoes, they're nice value for the money), and I have heard that Boneka shoes fit (although I'd need someone to tell me which size so I can edit the thread.) Some Yo-sized shoes fit, but that's a real gamble -- I haven't had good luck with it (although others have), and I wouldn't advise buying Yo shoes for your Chibi unless you also have a Yo who can wear them if they are too small. I've also heard that the tennis shoes/trainers made for the Harry Potter series of dolls fit well. MinoruWorld Junior shoes apparently also fit as if they're made for the Chibi foot size.

      A wonderful source for Chibi-Unoa clothing is Atelier Momoni -- she has a Chibi and handmakes clothing in their size.

      Brennil/Her Delicate Strength is another great source for handmade clothing, and you can ask for pants to be hemmed to Chibi-length.

      Stella: Wig by Sewaddictd, scarf by Kittymaru, tunic top (Unoa-sized) by Atelier Momoni, black ruched t-shirt by Nine9Style, Unoa-sized capri leggings (which are full-length on a Chibi) by Brennil, shoes for 14" Kish Chrysalis dolls from Deb's Adorables on eBay.

      Maris: Wig by Leekeworld, dress by Atelier Momoni (Unoa-sized -- it's a perfect fit), CHIBI-UNOA-SIZED jeans from Atelier Momoni (make sure you ask for the right size when you order -- regular Unoa tops will fit, bottoms won't!), Chibi-Unoa-sized handmade sandals by Atelier Momoni.

      I'll keep adding more as it comes to me -- please post links and photos of outfits! :)

    3. Ashbet, I LOVE you! You've given a ton of great resources, thanks so much for starting this thread!

      The Goodreau 16-17" doll shoes are also a really nice fit, and good quality shoe for Chibi.

      My Lilin is wearing a yo sized outfit from Somedoll here (available on etsy). Jacket sleeves are 3/4 length, the t-shirt is great, the skirt a bit snug, but still quite adorable, and super high quality. The "yo" outfit came with leggings that absolutely do not fit. The tights are Kish Chrysalis series. Engineer boots are Minoruworld Junior Ai, are a perfect fit and great quality.

    4. Thanks, Wally!! I'll get back to it and post some more links when I have energy again . . . I'm still pretty wrecked with post-surgical fatigue, even 4 weeks out. I'll be doing great, and then just . . . exhaustion. :P

      Thanks for posting your lovely girl -- that outfit is a great example of how to take things that "kinda" fit, and mix them with well-fitting pieces to make a wonderful whole!

      But it's worth remembering that most of these (except the Betsy McCall ones) are for shorter dolls so trouser legs and hems will be shorter on Chibi's than for the dolls they were intended for.

      Shoes for the Tonner Harry Potter/Hermione/Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys dolls are a good fit (both pairs in the last picture, above)

      Betsy Mccall shoes are a little loose (pink Mary Janes in one of the pictures above), Kish 14" (Chrysalis) doll shoes are a good fit to (pale pink boots in one of the pictures above)

    6. Also, a lot of the Yo-SD/child-sized dolls will fit the Roron (flat-chested) body, but not the Lilin (busty) body -- non-stretch Yo stuff generally doesn't look good on my two Lilin-body girls (which is probably why they have such good luck wearing stuff intended for large-bust Unoa.)

    7. To give you an idea of the height/limb-length differential, here is a photo of Phaedra (Unoa 1.0 with high-heeled feet), Stella (Chibi-Unoa Lilin, barefoot), and Renata (Unoa 1.5, barefoot) on Stella's first day home with me.

      On Phaedra: Atelier Momoni lingerie.

      On Stella: Lilin original-release default outfit (I got her when the Araki-painted kits were released, and she came with an outfit by Little Princess, a Japanese designer.)

      On Renata: Atelier Momoni dress.

      As you can see, the main difference is in the length of the Chibi's arms and legs -- the torso is a little bit smaller around/less broad-shouldered, but the hip and bust measurements, and the torso length, aren't TOO far off. That's why they can wear a lot of Unoa clothing, as long as it isn't full-length sleeves/trousers.

      I'm sharing this because I'm going to talk about which clothes will and won't work. Neither of the Chibi girls are wearing Chibi-sized clothing except for Maris' jeans/sandals (Atelier Momoni.)

      Stella: Dress by Swan20 (fits), slip by Atelier Momoni (fits.)

      Renata: Top by Mio (fits Chibis), pants by Nine9Style (too long), boots by Nine9Style (fits Chibis.)

      Hazel: Nine9Style dress (fits Chibis, although it falls off the shoulder slightly.)

      Lamia: Nine9Style dress (fits Chibis but is quite oversized on top, would be better with a top underneath), Dale Rae tights (too long), Leekeworld boots (fits Chibis.)

      Maris: Nine9Style dress (fits Chibis, but would look better on a Roron/flat-chested body -- the underbust seam hits a little high on the Lilin body. This may be just my personal complaint, though.) Atelier Momoni jeans/sandals.

      Rusalka: Angel.Candy-Rock dress (too long, although some of her other handmade items fit Chibis as long as they're not long-sleeved/full-length), SoulDoll flats (fits Chibis with socks, a little too big otherwise.)

      I'll try to work on a list of clothing makers at some point -- not well enough at the moment. Keep posting pics, please! :D

      Stella: SoulDoll outfit (shirt sleeves are a little long but the elastic cuffs keep them in place, skirt is perfect, corset is a smidge big but workable), IpleHouse JID red ankle boots.

      Stella: Yo-sized shirt from A-Life Garden (this fits because the sleeves are meant to be super-long on a Yo), Friends2BeMade leggings (not skin-tight fit -- more like shorts), LeekeWorld boots (they fit, but they look a bit oversized proportionally.) This was when Stella had just arrived and I was still getting used to dressing her!

      Hybrid (Lusis face on Chibi body): Atelier Momoni dress (too big, pinned in back to fit), Swan20 stockings, LeekeWorld shoes (fits with socks.)

      Stella: Mio shirt (sleeves too long but otherwise a good fit), Brennil leggings, JID boots.

      Stella: Brennil dress (PERFECT fit -- seriously, this is one of the best-fitting Chibi items I own, and I need to buy more!)

      Belle: Nine9Style shirt (perfect fit), PlumeBlanche skirt (fits well, rides a little low.) Note: the Brennil top that Eleanor (Lusis) is wearing also fits Chibis fantastically -- it's cut like the halter dress above.

      Aspen: Swan20 dress (a little big at the waist, the belt makes it a great fit), Brennil half-sleeved cardigan (perfect fit.)

      Maris: Ellowyne Wilde (Tonner) outfit -- perfect fit!! I'm going to have to try some more Ellowyne pieces on my girls -- the outfits are a bit pricey, but they're full of pretty details. Obviously, trousers or long skirts wouldn't work, but shorter dresses or skirts should!

      The shrug is made by Sher ( etsy store)and is a YoSD sized sweater that fits down to the T, its one of my favorite items.
      Shoes are from eluts, I believe they actually might have been made for the cutie delf which has slightly larger feet

      These are custom order Brennil pants. They are MNF size with shorter leglength.
      (since mnf's have slightly smaller bums then most unoa's and the chibi's are slightly slimmer then their bigger counterparts).

      The outfit will fit straight out of the box, however I felt the arm holes were a little bit big on the black dress so I tie them together with a ribbon in the back to give it a more fitted look. Shirt was a bit big and I rarely use it. The socks that come with this go all the way up (litteraly touch the bum) and tend to slide down so I dont use them at all. But definetly worth the money, its a great set that suits them very well.
      She is also wearing shome leggings from dollmore they did abselutely NOT fit, loose and barely hung on in this photo. Would not recomend the leggings.

      Gloves, bag & shoes all come from a Volks YoSD set but for the life of me I cannot find any official pictures of it but here is one of my own pictures of the set. The shoes are tight but fit, the gloves dont really fit but I thought it was cute anyway and the bag is perfect for any size really. I just added this picture of this outfit to show how much mix and match it really is with chibi's. Clothes that fit really are a hit and a miss.

    11. Hey all!
      Don't have a chibi, but just did a little "test" with a friend to see if she's the same size as my Dollmore Coco/ Narsha.
      Same outfit on both dolls...
      Also, that means that chibi is about the same size as Lati Greens on top, but with longer arms. So T shirts for LGs might work...

    13. Nope...Lati Greens have the short arms. I think chibi and Narsha are about the same with the chibis maybe being a bit shorter...The pic of my blond girl is a Coco, Narshas sister, not my Lati Green. :)

    15. I just got my Lilin (Her name is Deena), and I went out today to find her something to wear. Pardon the lack of faceup and eyes, she's still a WIP, but I wanted to see how this fit and share with this thread:

      This is the Blue Sky Adventure Yo-SD ChibiDress outfit from the Volks store in Fukuoka, along with some artisan boots in MSD size. The Chibi Dress is nearly a perfect fit - I only say nearly because the shorts are Lara Croft tight, which isn't a bad thing IMO, just makes sitting nearly impossible. Everything else works very nicely. The boots, again, are MSD sized, so they're a bit oversized, but went so well with the outfit, I had to get them. The size isn't too bad, and I like the look of big feet. XD

      I checked the Volks USA site and this outfit isn't listed, but it's available on Volks' Japan's English site, here

      Looking forward to seeing more ChibiUnoa styles, especially those suited for tomboys!

    16. Hi there,

      I was looking at some curious and colorful dolls named Little Missmatched dolls from Tonner toys company.
      And I assume the size is quite similar with Chibi Unoa, I was wondering if by chance some of you will know if the little missmatched outfits can fit Chibi Unoa?

      Maybe the shoes or big shirts..

    18. Ya know, they just might! My pal got some of those outfits for her yo girl, and if my memory serves me well, the shoes and shirts were a tad big on her yo, so they just might work on a Unoa Chibi.

      Gamekitty, I don't know for sure, but I think the difference between Monique and Monique Gold wigs is the name (marketing), not the sizes. Different brands do fit differently, but a 6-7 is a pretty safe bet with most brands on my Chibi.

    19. I haven't bought anything recently from Leekeworld shoe wise but I do have a couple of pairs here from through the years. MSD sized soes is a no go. They are way WAY to big unless you put on like 3 pairs of socks or something so MSD size is a nope. To MSD shoes I have are even a little bit to big on my normal sized unoa, she has to wear socks and they still fall off at the drop of a hat.

    21. Ok I have been wondering for a while now and hopefully one of you knows.
      Do mini dollfie dream outfits fit on the chibis? There are a couple I really like but I don't really dare buy any for that price unless I am sure they will fit.

    22. They fit regular (flat chest) Unoa, so they should definitely fit a Roron body. Not sure about Lilin.

      Here's my Aster (Unoa Sist) in a MDD outfit -- the clothing fit, the hat was too big, so I turned it into sort of a kerchief :)

    24. Chibis wear a 6/7 wig, like regular Unoas. Volks MSDs wear a 7-8 wig, which is way too big -- not sure if SDCs have significantly smaller heads than MSDs, but I don't think they're small enough to be Unoa-sized.

      I'd suggest, if there's an SDC wig that you have your eye on, that you go to a thread devoted to SDCs and ask what wig size they wear, because that will tell you -- if it's a 6/7, it will fit, but if it's a 7/8, it's too big.

    26. I have the brown-and-black ones (in size M) on one of my regular Unoas right now -- they're a good fit, not oversized.

      It's always a little dicey to try to get Yo-sized shoes to fit the Chibis . . . some work, some don't, and it's an expensive experiment if you're wrong (unless you have a bunch of shoeless Yo-SDs who can absorb the overflow, LOL!)

      Not sure about this particular pair, but I will say that I don't think the M size would look out of proportion.

    28. Hi :D I prefer my Chibi Unoa in 10mm eyes but she could easily wear 12mm which I think is the size suggested by Alchemic Labo. I think 14mm would probably be too big to even fit in.

    29. I have a pair of yosd shorts from TTYA and they wouldnt fit,
      and i have MSD shorts that fit but are big around the waist, wouldnt be able to tell if you hide the top of it with a shirt, or used a belt.

      I have a dress from foxybrowny that, yes its longer than it is on regular unoa, but it fits perfectly around the shoulders and top part~

      I also think YOSD shirts would be fine, second picture she is wearing yosd jacket, and its like a 3/4ths sleeve, length goes to shorts, but its a hoodie so its heavy in the back and drags it up. xD
      But the width of it fits nice on her torso

      I actually have a pair of 10mm with 8mm iris in my chibi right now and i love how they look xD.

    30. Hmm..so if TTYA denim shorts in Yo won't fit would their yo leggings fit? Since they have a bit more stretch. I see tons of stuff in that store that I want, just want to be sure of the size.

    31. My yo boys have TTYA shorts, and they will not come close to fitting my Lilin. Lilin not only has a larger bust, she has larger hips than Roron, so I'm not sure about Roron, but I don't think they would work. I'll check my MSD boy, TTYA shorts on Lil and let you know about the fit...
      Kish Chrysalis boots are perfect, and Marbled Halls 16"-17" outfits are a nice fit on my Lil.

    32. Lil tried on the MSD boy TTYA shorts. They are too big, would fall right off her hips if I hadn't tightened up the belt. Cute sort of baggy look on her though, so she's definitely going to borrow these for tree climbing this summer!

    35. This may be a little specific, but I want to buy my soon to be unoa some tights and stockings.. But nit much out there seems to be made specifically for this size :c
      Can anyone recommend some shops?
      Or are there other sizes of stockings for another doll that will fit chibi unoa?

    36. I also want to know about the socks!
      If I want pantyhose, what should I buy? and for long (over the knee) socks? Is it better to buy yo-sd socks (which will be shorter?) or usd socks (which will be longer?) ?

      And I have another question: what about narsha shoes? There are a pair that I like :)

    38. Bunny nine clothes fit my chibi, she's a Roron on Lilin's body. Tops, skirts, and underwear all fir great. Pants fit, but were tight and hard to get her to sit down in them. They're stretchy though and now that they're worn they're easier to sit in. I don't have an bunny nine shoes though :)

    42. My Chibi Large bust wears a lot of Minifee clothing and shoes pretty well. The only issue I have been running into are Long pants/stockings because her legs are to short heh

    45. I did my best to skim through the chibi unoa threads in anticipation of finally getting my girl.

      Is the general consensus that the best clothing for them is slim mini sized with having to keep in mind they will likely have to be altered? It looks like yo-sd is too snug. I'm not sure if there are any newer clothing lines better suited.
