My current fav fav fav expressive sculpt of all time is Miracle Doll's IAN!!!

There are a lot of sort of sinister/crazy looking smiling sculpts (which I also love) but the fact that they went all out and made his mouth HUGE really sold it in a way few others have! He's so cute to me

Miracle Doll is generally just great at expressive faces, though. Their various different versions of Vic and Baiye are all good, as well as Zixin and Zitong.

 

This guy... He's on my wish list... Loong Soul The Big Dipper-Dubhe Greedy Wolf...

 

I do want more smiling dolls but my current favorite expressive doll in my collection is Jet from Withdoll.

 

I keep going back to ACBJD Angel of Dream Mu Yanzi, she’s has the big smile and lavender wig in your photos. I think she is so sweet, but I’ve never ordered a doll from a foreign country and am kind of nervous about what all the fees and import charges, etc. might end up costing.

 

Devotion Doll Bite! The sculptor is making a 2.0 revised version and I'm saving up for his preorder (the new version is slightly less smiley in the eyes than the original, but still has the big grin and even has multiple removable teeth parts!)

Amadiz’s dolls really speak to me with how deeply expressive their faces are without having overtly dramatic expressions. I have absolutely dreamed of having the little Yolanda doll ever since she was made.

 

I think my all time favorite is Miracledoll Baiye :


He is not the more dramatic of miracledoll expressive heads, but I'm in love. (And he has horns. I love horns )

 

Dika Doll's Amanda.SP has a cute smiley face that is very childlike. If it weren't for the fact that painting tiny teeth sculpted into the head is a pain for me to do, I would totally buy her. But there's also Asleep Eidolon's Ding Dang (in both MSD and SD form), which has a sweet closed-mouth smile that I adore. I own the MSD version and she's very sweet in person, too.

 

I love Dingdang's sweet gentle smile. Every time I see her pictures I'm more tempted than the last time, even if she's larger than I would normally like.

I typically like tinies, smaller than 1/6 (so 1/8 or 1/12) and it's rare to see overly expressive faces in that scale unless the heads are huge.


But then I met Arong. He looks like he's all stuffed up from allergies, and he makes me giggle every time. I don't know if I'll actually buy an Arong, but he's easily one of my favourite Fairyland sculpts ever, and that's a long list!

 

Impldoll Joshua (in my profile pic) has this little half smile that just gets me every time. He was my first BJD for a reason!

 

My Volks F-55 and Murasaki have different expressions depending on what angle they're viewed from.
Murasaki looks cheerful in her promo pics, but she's wistful from other angles.

I'm obsessed with Dollstown Hue which is why I ordered him in the recent re-release of his head. I love his slightly sunken eyes, heavy lid, and of course, his open mouth and teeth. Orders for Hue are still open and discounted btw

 

I love Supia doll Rosy’s face. I love how different she looks each time and how much you can change her expression with how you paint her eyebrows etc. Before I got mine I never knew that her teeth were removable. I adore sculpts with an overbite and slightly opened mouth. Supia Ariel is another Supia girl whose head I love although her side profile is weirdly what drew me to her.

Another head I love is Miracle Doll Vic and although this one is a little unpopular Ringdoll Mona is one of my all time favorites.

 

Asleep Eidolon Ding Dang and Ringdoll Jade have adorable smiles. I'm a fan of Mu Yanzi but she needs a really good faceup to shine.

 

I adore aggressive faces on dolls. There's something about the annoyed/rage look that I've always enjoyed. Personally one day I hope to get Dollmore's Metta.
Plus any doll that can look condescending is my favorite too. Not sure why

 

Dollchateau Lafal ;_;;; his tears... I've seen custom faceups on him that are still beautiful.

 

God I love this kind of dolls, whenever I see one with a different expression I just gawk at it.
One of my favorites is IOS Crow, I love her too much. In fact it was my last doll to come home.
